RIO VISTA, Calif. - The crew of Station Rio Vista was presented the Sumner I. Kimball Readiness Award by Rear Adm. Paul F. Zukunft, commanding officer Eleventh Coast Guard District, June 10, 2009. The Kimball Award is presented to units, which demonstrate excellence in boat force readiness. In recent years, the frequency and diversity of cyber attacks aimed at U.S. critical infrastructure has grown, representing one of the most serious economic and national security challenges we face as a nation. Today’s inter-connected global cyber landscape presents significant challenges and unique opportunities for both the Coast Guard and our maritime partners. The new strategy will outline the Coast Guard's plan to work with industry to manage cyber risks to maritime critical infrastructure, boost its own cyber capabilities for defending USCG networks, and enable Coast Guard operations.

Egyptian Aviation Minister Sherif Fathi said a terrorist attack was more likely to have taken down the missing EgyptAir aircraft early Thursday morning rather than technical failure, Gulf News Egypt reported.
