Please join the Atlantic Council's Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security for a discussion with leading experts assessing China, Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), and ASEAN perspectives on energy security and their respective energy strategies. Our featured discussants will include Mr. Edward C. Chow, Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Dr. Van Jackon, Visiting Fellow at the Center for a New American Security, Mr. Robert A. Manning, Senior Fellow of the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security at the Atlantic Council, and Ms. Meredith Miller, Senior Vice President of Trade, Economic, and Energy Affairs and Director of the National Bureau of Asian Research.
Energy security is high on the agenda of all major actors in East Asia-- China, Japan, ROK, and ASEAN. All are heavily dependent on imports of oil from the Middle East. Japan, the ROK, China, and Taiwan are the world's largest importers of natural gas. Volatile, uncertain global energy markets make the energy question ever more central to the region. The Shale revolution and the prospects of US gas and oil exports to the region have become a new factor in Asia's energy equation.
This Atlantic Council event is part of the Cross-Straits Series of the Brent Scowcroft Center's Asia Security Initiative, which examines strategic and current affairs surrounding cross-straits relations.

China’s search for expanded, more reliable, and more sustainable sources of energy to fuel its development has become a major driver of China’s foreign relations. Beijing’s recent agreement to purchase Russian natural gas via a new Siberian pipeline and its use of drilling platforms to assert sovereignty claims in the South China Sea demonstrate that energy contracts, exploration and production have become primary goals and tools of Chinese foreign policy. The challenges and opportunities of China’s rise cannot be understood without expert appraisal of its energy needs and strategies – and consideration of alternative policy responses.
China and its periphery will be the focus of the second in the Wilson Center’s series on Regional and Global Energy Issues, which was launched in July with a public program on Russia, Ukraine and Energy Security. Programs held throughout 2014 and 2015 will present a comprehensive overview and deep regional and policy analyses of energy issues based on the framework of Energy and Security: Strategies for a World in Transition, a 2013 book published by the Wilson Center and Johns Hopkins University Press which is now in its second printing.

Featuring 50 units of Vestas V90 3MW wind turbines. Commissioned last November 5, 2014. The estimated cost for the construction of the wind farm was US$450 million.
Coverage commenced from the arrival of turbine components last October 2013, with the blades, nacelles and tower segments arriving at Omnico Port, Ilocos Norte. These parts were later transferred to Burgos through barging. Significant stages of the construction were covered: from Foundation Preparation up to Tower Erection.
Hundreds of thousand still shots taken using CANON 5D Mark3 with various Canon lenses. It also utilized a proprietary Long-Term Timelapse set with a camera in a metal enclosure shooting continuously at location.

Korea is the world′s fifth-largest nuclear energy powerhouse,... and its becoming increasingly dependent on atomic energy.
But that has also raised safety concerns,... with growing calls for greater cooperation on the regional front.
Kwon Soa turn to viewpoints of ordinary citizens as well as experts in the field.
How do Koreans feel about nuclear energy, and the safety of the country′s reactors?
″Nothing has happened so far. I feel safe.″
″I′m not that interested in the issue. I believe the country deals with it safely.″
″I feel a bit uneasy. I′ve read about the frequent malfunctions at nuclear reactors in a lot of articles.″
″I′m worried because of the accident in Japan. Korea has enough nuclear reactors. and I don′t think we need more.″
The public is divided,... but what can′t be denied is that Korea is the fifth-largest nuclear energy powerhouse in the world, and the country has more nuclear power plants in the works.
The same goes for China.
″The International Atomic Energy Agency predicts that the number of nuclear reactors in the world will have expanded by 60 percent by 2040, compared to 2013.″
While Japan shut down all but one of its reactors after the Fukushima disaster and many Western countries are shuttering plants as well,... the demand for nuclear energy in Northeast Asia is growing,... largely for economic and environmental reasons.
That was the point emphasized at the International Forum on Northeast Asia Nuclear Safety Cooperation on Thursday,... but also...
″More and more, we need to push for better strengthening our international cooperation.″
″Accidents can happen. But the correct prevention and response to nuclear accidents is so critical that experts say... simply sharing information on safety regulations is not enough. There has to be intervention too.″
A good example of this kind of intervention is how European countries began monitoring each other′s nuclear plants after the Fukushima disaster.
″Considering the geographical proximity of Korea, China and Japan,... I think we should raise safety levels to a place where each country is confident about the others.″
And that′s what experts from the three countries are aiming for,... saying there are no borders when it comes to nuclear safety.
Kwon Soa, Arirang News.

Water and Energy Solutions for 21st century -Ritesh Arya@ Innovation Asia 2015
Water and energy is going to be the major issues in 21st century especially in changing climatic conditions.
Water bodies are squeezing ......glaciers in Himalayas are extinct or on the verge of extinction.
Sea level is rising due to melting of Artic and antarctic glaciers.
Impact on hydropower projects will be maximum as they are dependent on Water as thier raw material.
Climate change myths propogated by UNIPCC on man made global warming will be gone forever. Becuase in 21st century process which support cooling will come into place . and the cyclicity of global cooling followed by warming and again cooling will cooling leading to ICE age irrespective of man or his activities.
Pollution is an issue which needs to be tacled using better technological innovations leading to decrease in GHGs emmisions but that does not mean global warming can be controled or enhanced . Climate change cycle is natural like day and night. and according to Aryas C cycle 1 cycle represents 1338.6 years based on geological evidences discovered from the Himalaya during last 20 years.
Nuclear power plants are NUCLER BOMBS for our FUTURE
generations.
Solar and Wind are renewable but economically not sustainable as they are not base load energy moreover life of pannels is 20-25 years.
Agneyodgara(Lava Energy using geocogen technology is the best bet for developing SAFE sustainable geothermal energy sources.

Energy Management is an often neglected but essential element of leaders and effective leadership: personal energy (self), collective energy (Team), natural energy (Talent), sustainable energy (Change).
Sourcing energy: exploring the mechanism of human energy and discuss the multiple sources of energy – our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual batteries – enabling leaders to work better on building their energy deposits:
How to recover our energy and recharge our human batteries
Why pressure and discomfort are the stimuli for growth
How to challenge yourself positively to improve
Sharing energy: exploring how leaders oxygen the organization and optimize the energy of their teams: creating opportunities for people development, stimulating empowerment, accountability and trust amongst the team members and between the departments:
How to cascade vitality and emotional energy?
How to feed the pipeline of good and talented people?
How to manage ego’s and solo players when managing a group
