DNA (Wanessa album)

DNA is the seventh studio album by Brazilian recording artist Wanessa, released on July 28, 2011 by Sony Music Entertainment.

Production

Musically, the album was influenced by contemporary pop, and other genres, with elements like funk carioca and R&B. DNA was produced by Mr. Jam and Dennonyx. The first information about DNA appeared in 2010 in an interview with radio Transamerica, revealing that the album would be entirely in English. The recording sessions started in São Paulo, Brazil and it was finished and mastered in New York, in the Sterling Sound Studios.

Background

On November 13, 2010 Wanessa revealed in an interview for the radio Transamerica her new album was recorded in early 2011, with an electropop dance sound, and would include the four songs from her EP "Party Line", "Stuck on Repeat", "Falling For U" and "Worth It". On January 8, 2011, against the comments that it would launch an international album, Wanessa, in an interview for Rolling Stone Brazil said that, her plans were to set herself in Brazil. In the same interview, the singer said she would be entering the studio to release her album at the end of March, which would be entirely in English and focusing on pop and a remix of the single "Stuck On Repeat", produced by American DJ Dave Aude, known by his work with Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff and Lady Gaga.

Kollekt

Kollekt is the sixth album by the Finnish experimental rock band Circle, led by bass guitarist Jussi Lehtisalo. It was released in 1998 by Bad Vugum. It collects the band's early singles, and previously unreleased songs from sessions for their first album, Meronia.

Sunshine is the fourth studio album released by The Archies, a fictional bubblegum pop band of The Archie Show and the Archie Comics universe. The album includes 12 tracks and was issued on Kirshner Records. It was produced by Jeff Barry. The album features the single "Sunshine". The song peaked at number 57 on the Billboard Hot 100. Sunshine (Jonathan Edwards song)

"Sunshine" is a country folk song from 1971 by Jonathan Edwards, released as the first single from his debut album Jonathan Edwards. The single reached Billboard #4 and earned a gold record.

"Sunshine" was not originally planned for release, but when an engineer accidentally erased the master of a track called "Please Find Me" near the end of sessions for the album, "Sunshine" was used to fill the hole.

The song was released as a single and first gained popularity on Boston radio, then nationwide, hitting #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on January 15, 1972 and earning a gold record. Here's Edwards' take on its success: "It was just at the time of the Vietnam War and Nixon. It was looking bad out there. That song meant a lot to a lot of people during that time--especially me."

Sunshine (Rye Rye song)

"Sunshine" is a song and single by rapper/dancer Rye Rye featuring M.I.A.. It was recorded in 2008 and released in 2010 and serves as the first single from her debut album Go! Pop! Bang! (2012). The release on N.E.E.T. Recordings (via Interscope Records) was followed by an extended play of remixes, including work by The Cataracs, 12th Planet, MSTRKRFT, and L.A. Riots. The song also appeared in the episode "While You Weren't Sleeping" of the TV series Gossip Girl. and The Bling Ring.

Music video

'The clip celebrates Rye Rye's urban upbringing, with b-girl dance moves, double dutching, and pick-up games. The video is the second video of Rye Rye's to feature M.I.A., after her debut video "Bang". Contrary to sources' claims, the video was not shot in Rye Rye's hometown of Baltimore instead the video was shot by director Jess Holzworth, in the Greenpoint area of Brooklyn, NY.
