Kumartuli sits on the banks of the River Hooghly, a tributary of the Ganges and old jute godowns line the bank. Kumartuli is not only the potters’ town, it is the poetry of potters. It is the actual relation between art & artist. If we are possible to see it in a different way, then we will understand that keeping witness in the pages of history, it not easy to describe kumartuli. Because inside Kumartuli, another Kumartuli is hidden. There are no stories made from Kumartuli, it itself is an example of a story. It is the temple of arts where the artist has continuously saved the art. Generation after generation the tradition of art was maintained. In every statue of mud, we can see the artist’s art existence & their angle of vision. With their small bare experienced hands they have conti...

"I had forgotten many things about traveling in Mother India but they soon came rushing back in upon my arrival. I love India for her extreme diversity and the myriad of experiences you are sure to come across while traveling.
