Grab your popcorn because this is a long vid! Vids like these are more of memories for me to be able to go back and look at in the winter months when it freezin! I did a river jam 2013 video so I figured I would go ahead and keep it rolling and do one this year also! Be sure to come out next year if you are around the greenville, ms area! I believe there was over 150 boats at one time last year and it keep getting bigger and bigger!

Shark Attacks and Invades Mississippi River - World Documentaries
The bull shark (Carcharhinus leucas), likewise referred to as the Zambezi shark or, unofficially, as Zambi in Africa and also Nicaragua shark in Nicaragua, is a requiem shark frequently located worldwide in cozy, superficial waters along coasts and also in rivers. The bull shark is known for its aggressive nature, predilection for cozy superficial water, and presence in freshwater and brackish systems including estuaries as well as streams.
Bull sharks can grow in both saltwater as well as freshwater and also could travel far up rivers. They have also been recognized to travel as much up the Mississippi River as Illinois, although there have been few videotaped freshwater assaults. They are most likely responsible for most near-shore shark strikes, consisting of lots of attacks associateded with opposite types.
Unlike the river sharks of the genus Glyphis, bull sharks are not real freshwater sharks, regardless of their capability to survive in freshwater environments. Like the tiger shark and excellent white shark, the bull shark is also understood to exploit and consume human beings

The Mississippi River is the chief river of the largest river system in North America. Flowing entirely in the United States (though its drainage basin reaches into Canada), it rises in northern Minnesota and meanders slowly southwards for 2,530 miles (4,070 km) to the Mississippi River Delta at the Gulf of Mexico. With its many tributaries, the Mississippi's watershed drains all or parts of 31 U.S. states between the Rocky and Appalachian Mountains and even reaches into southern Canada. The Mississippi ranks as the fourth longest and tenth largest river in the world. The river either borders or cuts through the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
Native Americans lived along the Mississippi and its tributaries. Most were hunter-gatherers or herders, but some, such as the Mound builders, formed prolific agricultural societies. The arrival of Europeans in the 1500s changed the native way of life as first explorers, then settlers, ventured into the basin in increasing numbers. The river served first as barrier – forming borders for New Spain, New France, and the early United States – then as vital transportation artery and communications link. In the 19th century, during the height of Manifest Destiny, the Mississippi and several western tributaries, most notably the Missouri, formed pathways for pioneers partaking in the western expansion of the United States.

Mississippi (
i/ˌmɪsɨˈsɪpi/) is a U.S. state located in the Southern United States. Jackson is the state capital and largest city. The name of the state derives from the Mississippi River, which flows along its western boundary, whose name comes from the Ojibwe word misi-ziibi ("Great River"). Mississippi is the 32nd most extensive and the 31st most populous of the 50 United States. The state is heavily forested outside of the Mississippi Delta area, which was cleared for cotton cultivation in the 19th century. Today, its catfish aquaculture farms produce the majority of farm-raised catfish consumed in the United States. The state symbol is the magnolia grandiflora tree.
Mississippi is bordered on the north by Tennessee, on the east by Alabama, on the south by Louisiana and a narrow coast on the Gulf of Mexico and on the west, across the Mississippi River, by Louisiana and Arkansas.
In addition to its namesake, major rivers in Mississippi include the Big Black River, the Pearl River, the Yazoo River, the Pascagoula River, and the Tombigbee River. Major lakes include Ross Barnett Reservoir, Arkabutla Lake, Sardis Lake and Grenada Lake. The largest lake in Mississippi is Grenada Lake.

The bull shark (Carcharhinus leucas), likewise referred to as the Zambezi shark or, unofficially, as Zambi in Africa and also Nicaragua shark in Nicaragua, is a requiem shark frequently located worldwide in cozy, superficial waters along coasts and also in rivers. The bull shark is known for its aggressive nature, predilection for cozy superficial water, and presence in freshwater and brackish systems including estuaries as well as streams.
Bull sharks can grow in both saltwater as well as freshwater and also could travel far up rivers. They have also been recognized to travel as much up the Mississippi River as Illinois, although there have been few videotaped freshwater assaults. They are most likely responsible for most near-shore shark strikes, consisting of lots of attacks associateded with opposite types.
Unlike the river sharks of the genus Glyphis, bull sharks are not real freshwater sharks, regardless of their capability to survive in freshwater environments. Like the tiger shark and excellent white shark, the bull shark is also understood to exploit and consume human beings

It is the southwestern-most part of the Missouri River drainage, which is in turn the northwestern-most portion of the extensive Mississippi River drainage. Its name (and nickname) come from the Kanza (Kaw) people who once inhabited the area. The state of Kansas was named for the river.
The river valley averages 2.6 miles (4.2 km) in width, with the widest points being between Wamego and Rossville, where it is up to 4 miles (6.4 km) wide, then narrowing to 1 mile (1.6 km) or less in places below Eudora. Much of the river's watershed is dammed for flood control, but the Kansas River is generally free-flowing and has only minor obstructions, including diversion weirs and one low-impact hydroelectric dam.
The Kansas drains 34,423 square miles (89,160 km2) of land in Kansas (almost all of the northern half), along with 16,916 square miles (43,810 km2) in Nebraska and 8,775 square miles (22,730 km2) in Colorado, making a total of just over 60,000 square miles (160,000 km2). When including the Republican River and its headwater tributaries, the Kansas River system has a length of 743 miles (1,196 km), making it the 21st longest river system in the United States.Its highest headwaters are at about 6,000 feet (1,800 m) and extend nearly to Limon, Colorado. Much of the drainage of the river lies within the Great Plains, but the river itself exists entirely within the Mid Continent Region. The majority of the rest of the state is drained by the Arkansas (and its tributaries, the Neosho, Cimarron, and Verdigris, all three of which drain into the Arkansas in Oklahoma). A portion of central-eastern Kansas is drained by the Marais des Cygnes River, which flows into Missouri to meet the Missouri River. A small area in the extreme northeast part of the state drains directly into the Missouri. In the Kansas City metro area, some streams drain east into the Blue River tributary of the Missouri.
Because of the river's shallow depth, slow drainage, high silt contents, and proximity to industrial centers, the Kansas River was ranked as the 21st most polluted water body in the United States in 1996.

The lookout is said to be 575' above downtown Winona and the vertical cliff that the lookout is situated on is probably 100', and the bluff below the cliff is very steep. I will admit, I was a bit spooked when I looked down over the edge of the rock wall! The weather was clear and unseasonably warm at 50°F. December 5, 2015.
