Kharaj Mukherjee

Kharaj Mukherjee or Kharaj Mukhopadhyay is Bengali actor, songwriter, composer and singer. He made his debut in Bengali film with the film Hulusthul in 1980. In last 32 years he has worked in many films like Patalghar, Bye Bye Bangkok, Kahani, namesake, accident, Muktodhara, Special 26, Lafangey Parindey, Yuva, Parineeta, Laga Chunari mein daag, Chhoye chhuti, Jaatishwar etc. He is a student of the drama maestro Mr. Ramaprasad Banik. One of the finest actors in India, he is known for his excellence in both Commercial and natural acting. In 2012 film Kahaani, Mukherjee played the role of Inspector Chatterjee. Mukherjee won Bengal Film Journalists' Association – Best Male Playback Award in 2004 for the film Patalghar.

Kharaj

Kharaj is a type of Islamic tax on agricultural land and its produce developed under Islamic law.

With the first Muslim conquests in the 7th century, kharaj initially denoted a lump-sum duty levied upon the lands of conquered provinces, which was collected by hold-over officials of the defeated Byzantine Empire in the west and the Sassanid Empire in the east; later and more broadly, kharaj refers to the land tax levied by Muslim rulers on their non-Muslim subjects, collectively known as dhimmi. At that time, kharaj was synonymous with jizyah, which later emerged as a per head tax paid by the dhimmi. Muslim landowners, on the other hand, paid only ushr, a religious tithe on land, which carried a much lower rate of taxation, and zakat.

Comedy

In a modern sense, comedy (from the Greek: κωμῳδία, kōmōidía) refers to any discourse or work generally intended to be humorous or to amuse by inducing laughter, especially in theatre, television, film and stand-up comedy. The origins of the term are found in Ancient Greece. In the Athenian democracy, the public opinion of voters was influenced by the political satire performed by the comic poets at the theaters. The theatrical genre of Greek comedy can be described as a dramatic performance which pits two groups or societies against each other in an amusing agon or conflict. Northrop Frye depicted these two opposing sides as a "Society of Youth" and a "Society of the Old". A revised view characterizes the essential agon of comedy as a struggle between a relatively powerless youth and the societal conventions that pose obstacles to his hopes. In this struggle, the youth is understood to be constrained by his lack of social authority, and is left with little choice but to take recourse in ruses which engender very dramatic irony which provokes laughter.

Shakib Khan

Shakib Khan (Bengali: শাকিব খান, born: 28 March 1979) is a Bangladeshi film actor. He made his debut in Annotho Bhalobasha (1999), though it did not lead to widespread fame. After a few years, Khan established himself as one of the most successful, and highest paid, actors in Bangladeshi film history. Throughout his career, Khan has received various awards, including two National Film Awards for Best Actor for Bhalobaslei Ghor Bandha Jay Na and Khodar Pore Ma, and seven Meril Prothom Alo Awards.

Early life

Shakib Khan was born in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. His father Abdur Rab was a government officer; his mother Nurjahan is a housewife. His father's job required the family to relocate frequently from one city to another during his school years. He was a brilliant student and had very good results in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) exams.

Besides education, he also had a keen interest in dancing. He completed a dancing course under film choreographer Aziz Reza. In 1998 he went to BFDC (Bangladesh Film Development Corporation), the only major studio of Bangladeshi film industry at that time, on a random visit, where he met a photographer who asked him to take part in a photo shoot. During the photo shoot, film director Abul Khair Bulbul noticed Shakib and offered him the leading role in his movie Shobaito Shukhi Hote Chai. Shakib accepted the offer. While filming Shobaito Shukhi Hote Chai, other directors noticed him and offered him roles.

Videotelephony

Videotelephony comprises the technologies for the reception and transmission of audio-video signals by users at different locations, for communication between people in real-time.

At the dawn of the technology, videotelephony also included image phones which would exchange still images between units every few seconds over conventional POTS-type telephone lines, essentially the same as slow scan TV systems.

Currently videotelephony usage has made significant inroads in government, healthcare, education and the news media. It is particularly useful to the deaf and speech-impaired who can use the technology with sign language and also with a video relay service, and well as to those with mobility issues or those who are located in distant places and are in need of telemedical or tele-educational services. It is also used in commercial and corporate settings to facilitate meetings and conferences, typically between parties that already have established relationships. Like all long distance communications technologies (such as phone and internet), by reducing the need to travel to bring people together the technology also contributes to reductions in carbon emissions, thereby helping to reduce global warming.
