NADIMAC (Ser) - Nejebanje Zive Sile , cd 2013

Wow, these guys make chaos every times they release a new album. Probably the best Crossover Thrash band from the Balkans, but I think even much wider. One thing I keep asking myself is how on earth this band is still not signed by a major label. I cannot swallow the fact that it may be because of the lack of english language, because a lot of Metal today has vocals that does not understand themselves, so I don`t see a difference.

To return to the band, again a great piece of album, and again a fantastic recording production, which was already heard on the advance track "Smrt Autoriteta". The tracks are all an up-and-down of tempos like a rollercoaster drive. Nadimac remains tight even with all those tempo changes. The lyrics are intelligent and pungent as always, and a try to write down some english possible translations in the booklet would be more than welcomed by non-serbian speaking people (a hint for the future!).

All in all, this might be the Crossover Thrash Metal release of the year.

BROOKLYN MILITIA (U.S.A.) - Demo tracks 2012

Now, this is a cool band, coming from NYC, this is the new band of my friend Joe Cangelosi (ex-Whiplash, ex-Kreator). The band is playing pure aggressive Thrash Metal mixed with some Punk and Hardcore feeling, the perfect thing if you ask me. These are demo tracks layed down in the past year, but as the line-up is now stabile, expect a full blooded CD very soon !!

KAZJUROL (Swe) - A Lesson In Love , demo 1988

Woow, here is a long gone and forgotten tape I found in a drawer, this is dated 1988, from my tape trading days, and this is a great one. Kazjurol were a swedish band succesfully balancing between Hardcore and Thrash Metal, actually joining them in 5 great tracks featured on this demo. This is something I must share with you, because it is soooo fucking great! Notice the parody of the famous Exodus track in the title! Awesome!

CARNIVORE (U.S.A.) - Live The Grand , NYC , 199x

Hmmm..I am a little suspicious about the date of this one..at least, the date I found for this recording..I am not quite sure that Carnivore played it in 1994, as they split somewhere in 1991-92.I changed the year here in the title, even on the file is written 1994, so you just ignore the date and enjoy some Carnivore live as it was back in the time of the second "true" Carnivore (Steele-Piovanetti-Beateaux) .The recording is not extremely good, it is an audience recording, but as such very fine.For collectors and fans.

After these few Punk posts,let`s return to good old Thrash Metal,with this excellent slovenian band trom the end of the 80s.Their second demo (even this one is not exactly the master-copy) is a display of excellent Thrash.I saw them once in 1990 in Ljubljana supporting Atrophy and Sacred Reich,and I remember they were great,but the thing that confused us all is that they played only instrumental songs.Of course,I don`t know if those were instrumental versions of the songs featured here,but it was strange..

AMORPHOSA (Cro) - Into the depth of nothing , demo 1994

Here is another Croatian Thrash Metal band from the first middle of the 90s.At that time,there were an invasion of Croatian Thrash bands,some of them (especially the ones from Zagreb) succeded in being noticed widely,while the others had to work their way to the audience much harder.Amorphosa were one of them.A nice demo of a Thrash with some HC parts played a little sloppy here and there,but overall a very good demo,surely one more in the list of Croatian Metal bands.

Here it is,the second Carnivore album (let`s hope there`s gonna be no more album,not because I don`t like Carnivore-it is the opposite;I don`t want this band`s opus to be ruined with some shit,like for example C.Frost did).This one is more HC oriented than the previous one,and has a metallic HC production.Of course,the brilliant songwriting by P.Steele,and a great line-up (without Keith Alexander R.I.P.),makes this album a very angry display of HC power,but in a Metal way.After this one,the Carnivores become Type O Negatives..

Maaaan,this band thrashed..and showed that the far east can have very competitive bands in Metal.Casbah were a great band,and this demo is a cult in the underground spheres.The band released a ton of releases including demos,ep`s and compilation cd`s,But this one is undoubtely the most known.Worth your attention!!

CARNIVORE - DEMOS 1 (1984) + 2 (1986)

EXTREMITY (Bel) - Blind by.. , demo 03.1989.

Now,this is a particular one,I am,in a way,very emotionally tied to this demo.But it has its pros and cons.First of all,let me tell you that I do not love perfectionism in playing (that doesn`t mean that the recordings have to be messy or chaotic),I love a natural way of playing with all the imperfections that make the music more natural.Let`s start with the con(tra)s;this demo is played pretty poorly,the musicianship of those guys was at pretty low levels,there are a thousands of rhytmical and other mistakes on this demo.But the pros;whatever their skills were,they were a very inventive band,with interesting riffs and song structures,an interesting vocal (sometimes funny,but still interesting).Plus this one is a very clean production.I really liked this demo (and I still do!),so I recommend it to the old-school thrash lovers.And I expect your opinions too!!

HELLBASTARD (UK) - Live 1989

This one is a recording I got in my tape trading era,it is a soundboard recording sent directly from Scruff (guitar) to the guy I got this recording from.Not a crystal clear recording,yet a powerful live act from this legendary british crossover-thrash band.I got no titles for these four tracks,so if somebody would like to send the titles to me,I`d appreciate it very much.
