Why did they commit this horrifying murder? As a result of an unhappy childhood? Because they could no longer stand being commanded and exploited by arrogant bourgeois employers? Canada's Oil Rig Slowdown (Excerpt from 'Alberta’s Boom Time Hangover’)
Canada is the fifth-largest producer of oil in the world. But when the price of oil plummeted in late 2014, the country’s oil-rich western province of Alberta began hurtling toward a recession, with widespread layoffs and historic reductions in drilling activity.
The impact was felt across Canada, too. Crude oil is the country’s number one export, and 99 percent of it is sold to the United State

Sheila Gunn Reid of TheRebel.Media reports:
Chris Noble is a failed NDP candidate and sometime folk musician from Red Deer. You know where this story is going already.
He took to his Facebook page this week in defence of the NDP's terrible farm safety legislation, Bill 6.
He said: "Did you know that a large majority of family farms in Alberta got their first 160 acres of land for free from the government? ......Do you think that someone that has been given a free 160 acres of land should at least treat their employees with the same dignity and respect as every other industry in Alberta is required to?"
What?
Besides being historically wrong, he's trying to paint those pesky, independent and conservative minded farmers as greedy. That’s the rhetoric the Soviets used on the Kulaks before they nationalized their farms.
I'm proud of the hard work my ancestors put in to the land and to building the communities we all live in. Their work should be celebrated. Not picked on a century later by urban elitists.
Is there any wonder why the NDP went after the farmers under the guise of farm safety?
They think farmers are tight fisted and entitled. These NDP’ers think our grandparents, and great grandparents who lived in sod huts and turned the soil by hand to produce the food that feeds us all, never deserved the land they earned.
I disagree.

Sheila Gunn Reid of TheRebel.Media reports: A former Alberta government occupational health and safety officer attacked farmers and ranchers for being as bad as slave owners in an email to the CBC.
On the CBC radio show called Calgary Eye Opener, Shandele Battle, a rancher from Delia Alberta went on to explain why she was opposed to the NDPs massive overreach in their new farm safety legislation, Bill 6.
In an email to CBC Eye Opener, a former occupational Health and Safety Advisor for Alberta Health Services Debby Devlin said she was disgusted by Shandele Battle's remark on the show.
Devlin wrote of Shandele that "her whining reminded me of that gone with the wind kind of pining for slavery. As in, how will we ever keep our wonderful way of life if we have to care about someone else?"
Did you get that, farmers? You're whiny slaveholders.
These are the government bureaucrats that would be monitoring farms every day. They don’t like farmers. They think farmers are as bad as slaveholders and they don’t care about anyone. I guess that means farmers don’t love their kids.
And she called farmers whiners. Someone like Devlin, who had a comfortable taxpayer funded salary of around $79 000 per year has no right to call the people who work in the rain and cold, who forgo income security to feed us all and who pay her salary "whiners".
Make no mistake. This is what the safety bureaucracy thinks of farmers and ranchers. This woman and her resentful and elitist attitude is why we have to stop the NDPs Bill 6.

Crude oil is the country’s number one export, and 99 percent of it is sold to the United States. But in recent years, the US has emerged as a major oil producer in its own right, following a revolution in controversial fracking technology that has increased US oil production and contributed to a global oversupply of oil. Now, Canada's energy sector faces the difficult question of how to meet new markets in a changing global energy landscape.
VICE News visited Alberta, known as Canada’s “Texas of the North," in what is normally high season for drilling — just before the frozen ground thaws — to explore how the bitter sting of low oil prices is affecting the region’s the economy.
In this excerpt, VICE News speaks with the Canadian Association of Oil Drilling Contractors to hear how oil and gas exploration is slowing down, and meets the CEO of a small oil and gas company who is keeping drills in operation on his site, despite the declining oil prices.

Ezra Levant of TheRebel.media reports: The giant oil company Shell announced they’re cancelling an oilsands megaproject in Alberta, called Carmon Creek.
It’s a disaster for Shell — they’re writing off $2 billion dollars. More importantly, 1,450 Canadian families are out jobs.
And of course the 80,000 barrels of oil per day that Carmon Creek was going to produce is gone too. Even at forty dollars a barrel, that’s $3 million a day.
Obviously low world oil prices are part of the problem. But Shell is still investing billions in other parts of the world.
So why did they announce they were killing the project yesterday, at 3:46 p.m. Alberta time?
Well it’s obvious. Because they were waiting to see what Alberta’s first NDP Budget looked like. It confirmed their worst fears. So they pulled the plug.

Trophy moose hunting in Alberta, Canada. After three days without a single moose sighting, Travis and I were starting to get a litlle frustrated. But the great thing about moose hunting in the rut is that can all change overnight. The next morning we got to experience that first hand with four bull encounters in the first two hours followed by a Boone and Crockette bull on the ground!

Sheila Gunn Reid of TheRebel.Media reports: I went to the Rally Against Bill 6 Friday at the Alberta Legislature.
Bill 6 is Rachel Notley's latest attack on rural Alberta. It extends labor regulation, including child labour laws, workers compensation coverage and unionization rights to farm workers. Farming isn't a 9 to five job. It doesn't need 9 to 5 rules that work for unions and urban office workers.
So on Friday afternoon, farmers and ranchers took to the legislature to tell Notley to kill Bill 6. There were ponies and even a turkey. But most importantly there were farm families that came to fight for their way of life.
I had the privilege of talking to these concerned farmers and ranchers. I met Clayton. He's a young man from Ponoka who is in his 4-H Beef Club. He understood why this bill is bad. He even had ways to fix it. That makes perfect sense to me. He has more "on the farm" experience than the entire NDP caucus.
The overwhelming theme on the steps of the legislature from the farmers is that this rally was about the future. It's about the future of the family farm in Alberta and farmers aren't going to let it be stolen from them without a fight.

Calgary is a city in the province of Alberta, Canada. It is located in the south of the province, in an area of foothills and prairie, approximately 80 km (50 mi) east of the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies. The city is located in the grassland and parkland natural regions of Alberta. During oil boom years, skyscrapers were constructed and the relatively low-rise downtown quickly became dense with tall buildings, a trend that continues to this day.

Banff is a town within Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. It is located in Alberta's Rockies along the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately 126 km (78 mi) west of Calgary and 58 km (36 mi) east of Lake Louise. At an elevation of 1,400 m (4,600 ft) to 1,630 m (5,350 ft), Banff is the community with the second highest elevation in Alberta after Lake Louise.
The Town of Banff was the first municipality to incorporate within a Canadian national park. The town is a member of the Calgary Regional Partnership.
Banff is a resort town and one of Canada's most popular tourist destinations, known for its mountainous surroundings and hot springs. It is a destination for outdoor sports and features extensive hiking, biking, scrambling and skiing areas within the area. Sunshine Village, Ski Norquay and Lake Louise Mountain Resort are the three nearby ski resorts located within the national park.
Attractions in Banff, Alberta
============================
There are a number of popular mountains located immediately adjacent to the townsite which include Mount Rundle (2,949 m or 9,675 ft); Cascade Mountain (2,998 m or 9,836 ft); and Mount Norquay (2,134 m or 7,001 ft). Mount Norquay has a ski slope as well as mountain biking trails on the Stoney Squaw portion. A popular tourist attraction, the Banff Gondola, is available to ascend Sulphur Mountain (2,281 m or 7,484 ft) where a boardwalk (Banff Skywalk) beginning from the upper terminal takes visitors to Sanson Peak. Sulphur Mountain is also the location of one of Banff's most popular attractions, the Banff Upper Hot Springs.
Lake Minnewanka located 6 minutes north of the townsite is a very popular day use area with a variety of activities. Mountain biking, hiking and fishing are all activities allowed in this part of the park. There is a very popular Lake Cruise and motor boat rentals and a small food concession available at the marina.
Tunnel Mountain (formerly known as Sleeping Buffalo Mountain) (1,690 m or 5,545 ft) is situated within the townsite and is very popular for quick hikes; one can reach the summit in less than half an hour. It was named Tunnel Mountain because surveyors initially wanted to make a tunnel for the Canadian Pacific Railway right through the mountain, instead of following the Bow River Valley.
Banff is home to the well-known Banff World Television Festival, Banff Mountain Film Festival, Rocky Mountain Music Festival and Bike Fest. The city is also the starting point of the 4,417 km (2,745 mi) Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, which terminates at Antelope Wells, New Mexico in the United States.
