Qingdao
Qingdao ([tɕʰjə́ŋtàʊ]; Chinese: 青岛; also spelt Tsingtao) is a city in eastern Shandong Province on the east coast of China as well as the largest city in Shandong province. Administered at the sub-provincial level, Qingdao has jurisdiction over seven districts and five county-level cities. According to the 2010 census, the built-up (or metro) area made up of 6 urban districts and Jimo City had 5,764,384 inhabitants, while the total population of the sub-provincial city is up to 8.71 million. Lying across the Shandong Peninsula and looking out to the Yellow Sea, it borders Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest. Qīng (青) in Chinese means "green" or "lush", while dǎo (岛) means "island".
Qingdao is a major seaport, naval base, and industrial centre. The world's longest sea bridge, the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, links the main urban area of Qingdao with Huangdao district, straddling the Jiaozhou Bay sea areas. It is also the site of the Tsingtao Brewery, the second largest brewery in China.

Qingdao Facts Qingdao, located in the southeast part of Shandong Province, is a beautiful seaside city. It is near to the Yellow Sea to the east and south, Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest. Qingdao is one of the most beautiful coastal cities in China.
Qingdao also spelt Tsingtao; Chinese: 青岛) is a major city in eastern Shandong Province. Located on China's Yellow Sea coast, it is a major nodal city of the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) Initiative that connects Asia with Europe. It has the highest GDP of any city in the province. Administered at the sub-provincial level, Qingdao has jurisdiction over six districts and four county-level cities. As of 2014, Qingdao had a population of 9,046,200 with an urban population of 6,188,100. Lying across the Shandong Peninsula and looking out to the Yellow Sea, it borders the prefecture-level cities of Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest.
Qingdao is a major seaport and naval base, as well as a commercial and financial centre. It is home to electronics multinationals such as Haier and Hisense. The world's longest sea bridge,[citation needed] the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, links the main urban area of Qingdao with Huangdao district, straddling the Jiaozhou Bay sea areas. Its historic, German-style architecture and Tsingtao Brewery, the second largest brewery in China are legacies of the German occupation (1898-1914).

Welcome to our video on the top things to do in Qingdao, China. Located on the eastern coast of Shandong Province, Qingdao is a scenic port city known for its beautiful beaches, historic German architecture, and, of course, its world-famous beer. Here are some of the best places to visit and activities to enjoy in Qingdao.
Start with a visit to Zhanqiao Pier, the symbol of Qingdao. Stretching out into the sea, Zhanqiao offers great views of the coastline and is a great spot for a peaceful stroll. At the end of the pier, you’ll find the Huilan Pavilion, a classic structure that is perfect for photos.
Explore Badaguan Scenic Area, known for its tree-lined streets and historic European-style villas. This area was once home to foreign diplomats and features architecture from Germany, Russia, and other European countries. It’s a beautiful place to walk, especially during spring when the flowers are in bloom, or in autumn when the leaves change colors.
Visit Qingdao Beer Museum, home to China’s most famous beer, Tsingtao. The museum is located at the original Tsingtao Brewery, founded by Germans in 1903. You can learn about the beer-making process, explore historic brewing equipment, and, of course, sample fresh Tsingtao beer at the end of the tour.
Take a relaxing day at Qingdao’s beaches, some of the best in northern China. No. 1 Bathing Beach is the most famous, known for its soft sand and calm waters, while Shilaoren Beach offers a quieter atmosphere with a view of the iconic Old Stone Man rock formation.
For a cultural experience, visit St. Michael’s Cathedral, a beautiful neo-Romanesque church built during the German colonial period. It’s a prominent landmark of Qingdao and showcases the city’s unique blend of Chinese and European influences.
Hike up Laoshan Mountain, one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China, located just outside Qingdao. Laoshan offers stunning ocean views, ancient Taoist temples, and numerous hiking trails through lush forests and rocky landscapes. The area is also known for its clear springs and is a great place to enjoy nature.
Don’t miss May Fourth Square, a large public plaza named after the May Fourth Movement. The square is famous for its striking red sculpture, "The Wind of May", and offers great views of Qingdao’s modern skyline and waterfront.

Qingdao Facts Qingdao, located in the southeast part of Shandong Province, is a beautiful seaside city. It is near to the Yellow Sea to the east and south, Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest. Qingdao is one of the most beautiful coastal cities in China.
Qingdao also spelt Tsingtao; Chinese: 青岛) is a major city in eastern Shandong Province. Located on China's Yellow Sea coast, it is a major nodal city of the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) Initiative that connects Asia with Europe. It has the highest GDP of any city in the province. Administered at the sub-provincial level, Qingdao has jurisdiction over six districts and four county-level cities. As of 2014, Qingdao had a population of 9,046,200 with an urban population of 6,188,100. Lying across the Shandong Peninsula and looking out to the Yellow Sea, it borders the prefecture-level cities of Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest.
Qingdao is a major seaport and naval base, as well as a commercial and financial centre. It is home to electronics multinationals such as Haier and Hisense. The world's longest sea bridge,[citation needed] the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, links the main urban area of Qingdao with Huangdao district, straddling the Jiaozhou Bay sea areas. Its historic, German-style architecture and Tsingtao Brewery, the second largest brewery in China are legacies of the German occupation (1898-1914).

Qingdao
Qingdao ([tɕʰjə́ŋtàʊ]; Chinese: 青岛; also spelt Tsingtao) is a city in eastern Shandong Province on the east coast of China as well as the largest city in Shandong province. Administered at the sub-provincial level, Qingdao has jurisdiction over seven districts and five county-level cities. According to the 2010 census, the built-up (or metro) area made up of 6 urban districts and Jimo City had 5,764,384 inhabitants, while the total population of the sub-provincial city is up to 8.71 million. Lying across the Shandong Peninsula and looking out to the Yellow Sea, it borders Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest. Qīng (青) in Chinese means "green" or "lush", while dǎo (岛) means "island".
Qingdao is a major seaport, naval base, and industrial centre. The world's longest sea bridge, the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, links the main urban area of Qingdao with Huangdao district, straddling the Jiaozhou Bay sea areas. It is also the site of the Tsingtao Brewery, the second largest brewery in China.
