Jealousy

Jealousy is an emotion, and the word typically refers to the thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear, concern, and anxiety over an anticipated loss or status of something of great personal value, particularly in reference to a human connection. Jealousy often consists of a combination of emotions such as anger, resentment, inadequacy, helplessness and disgust. In its original meaning, jealousy is distinct from envy, though the two terms have popularly become synonymous in the English language, with jealousy now also taking on the definition originally used for envy alone. Jealousy is a typical experience in human relationships. It has been observed in infants five months and older. Some claim that jealousy is seen in every culture; however, others claim jealousy is a culture-specific phenomenon.

Jealousy is often reinforced as a series of particularly strong emotions and constructed as a universal human experience; it has been a theme of many artistic works. Psychologists have proposed several models of the processes underlying jealousy and have identified factors that result in jealousy. Sociologists have demonstrated that cultural beliefs and values play an important role in determining what triggers jealousy and what constitutes socially acceptable expressions of jealousy. Biologists have identified factors that may unconsciously influence the expression of jealousy. Artists have explored the theme of jealousy in photographs, paintings, movies, songs, plays, poems, and books. Theologians have offered religious views of jealousy based on the scriptures of their respective faiths.

Jealous (Labrinth song)

"Jealous" is a song by English electronic musician Labrinth. Written with Josh Kear and Natalie Hemby, the song was released as the second single from Labrinth's upcoming second album, Take Me to the Truth, on 23 November 2014.

Style and production

Labrinth wrote "Jealous" in Nashville, Tennessee with Josh Kear and Natalie Hemby,. It was produced by Labrinth and arranged by Gustave Rudman. The song, described as a "heart-breaking ballad" by MTV, is addressed to one of Labrinth's parents, who left the family when he was four years old. Speaking about the lyrical content of the song, Labrinth has offered the following explanation:

Release and reception

The song, along with its accompanying music video, debuted on 31 October 2014. The single was released on 23 November 2014. Jessie Ware covered the song for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge in January 2015. The song re-entered the charts at number 25 in September 2015, following a performance from contestant Josh Daniel on The X Factor.

Jealous (Nina Girado song)

"Jealous" is a song by Filipino singer Nina from her 2002 debut studio album Heaven. It was released as the album's second commercial single in February 2003 by Warner Music Philippines. The song was written by international songwriters Shelly Peiken and Brett Laurence, and it was produced by Ferdie Marquez. The song tells a story of a girl who is in love with her ex-boyfriend that has a new girlfriend. She narrates how jealous she is with the girl, and how lucky the girl is. She also promises to wait for the boy, the moment the girl leaves him.

Upon release, the song received generally positive response from fans and critics alike, becoming a commercial success and earning Nina seven awards—the most number of awards received by a Heaven song. These notable awards include an Awit Award for Favorite New Female Artist, MTV Pilipinas for Favorite New Artist in a Video, Candy Rap Award for Favorite Female Artist and Teens Voice Award for Favorite Female Artist. It also became Nina's first hit as a breakthrough artist. On August 20, 2002, the song was made available on digital download through iTunes and Amazon.com MP3 Download on January 23, 2007.

Junior (chess)

Junior is a computer chess program written by the Israeli programmers Amir Ban and Shay Bushinsky. Grandmaster Boris Alterman assisted, in particular with the opening book. Junior can take advantage of multiple processors, taking the name Deep Junior when competing this way in tournaments.

According to Bushinsky, one of the innovations of Junior over other chess programs is the way it counts moves. Junior counts orthodox, ordinary moves as two moves, while it counts interesting moves as only one move, or even less. In this way interesting variations are analyzed more meticulously than less promising lines. This seems to be a generalization of search extensions already used by other programs.

Another approach its designers claim to use is 'opponent modeling'; Junior might play moves that are not objectively the strongest but that exploit the weaknesses of the opponent. According to Don Dailey ″It has some evaluation that can sting if it's in the right situation—that no other program has.″

Junior (TV channel)

Junior is a German children's channel which has been broadcast in Germany since 1996; Dekania since 1994; Israel since 1997. In Germany, as of April, 2007, it timeshares the channel slot with XL TV (anime) after 8 PM. Former TV channels which timeshared with Junior includes K-Toon (cartoons) , Gametrix (video games), later GTV (video games), and d+ (entertainment, now RTL Nitro).

The main policy goals of Junior are: edutainment, non-violence, brand new shows and local classics. These policy goals have meant that the channel is much appreciated by younger children and their parents.

Junior have new logo, idents and bumpers.
