Santorini Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations
The characteristic white-walled buildings of Santorini are standing upon each other in a happy disorder. The narrow alleys show us a new miracle at each turn. The top of our house is the other house’s balcony, from where there is a perfect view on the dark blue water of the Aegean Sea. The venetian blinds summon the color of the blue sky, the rows of cubic houses are sometimes broken by a blue-dom

The design of this extraordinary building is Neo-classical.
It has had several restorations, especially after being burned in the War of 1812.

façade' of the White House, seen from Pennsylvania Avenue. A visiting
head of state enters the house for a state dinner through the North
Portico. Tourists finish their tour by exiting through the North
Portico. The house was originally built without porticos. Before
construction of the north portico in 1824, the north façade looked much
more similar to Leinster House shown in the picture immediately below.
Both James Hobanoriginal architect of the White House, and Benjamin
Henry Latrobe who developed plans for its rebuilding after the 1814
fire, proposed north and south porticos. Both porticos, as built, are
the work of Hoban. 'Leinster House in Dublin' The eighteenth century
ducal palace in Dublin served as a model for the White House. 'The

The South Portico was constructed in 1829 based on earlier drawings by
James Hoban. The second floor balcony, known as the Truman Balcony, was
added in 1947. Welcome ceremonies for visiting heads of state take
place on the South Lawn. Marine One, the president's helicopter
service, lands and departs from the South Lawn. 'Jefferson's West
Colonnade' is seen on the left of the residence in this nineteenth
century engraved view. The West Colonnade originally concealed a stable
and laundry room. Later it became the site of Franklin Roosevelt's
swimming pool. President Nixon converted the space to the current Press
Briefing Room. 'Truman reconstruction, 1949-1952' First the interior
rooms were dismantled and stored, then within the original walls a
steel and concrete structure was erected. The interior rooms, with most
of the original trim and floor boards were rebuilt within the new
framework. 'The Red Room' as designed by Stéphane Boudin during the
administration of John F. Kennedy. 'The West Wing' of the White House,

Take in the many splendors of the nation’s capital when you arrive at Washington, D.C.
Your Washington, D.C. tour should start at the National Mall, where you’ll find monuments, memorials, and government buildings instead of tons of shopping. If you’d like to get around town easily but don’t want to rent a car, the Capital Bikeshare program will let you cruise around the city without wasting gas or getting stuck in traffic.
Check out the Watergate Hotel and Kennedy Center when you stop at Foggy Bottom, then move on to Georgetown, the oldest district in D.C. It’s filled with 18th-century buildings and, of course, the university itself. After a stop at the National Cathedral, make your way to the Smithsonian National Zoo, the perfect stop for the young and the young at heart.
If you’re feeling the need to channel your inner 007, go to the International Spy Museum, and learn about the covert operations and intelligence agencies that have shaped the world we live in. Of course, you can’t enjoy any Washington, D.C., tourism without admiring the White House, so make sure that’s on your list too.

Top Travel Places & Guides ,The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. It has been the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams in 1800.
The house was designed by Irish-born James Hoban[1] and built between 1792 and 1800 of white-painted Aquia Creek sandstone in the Neoclassical style. When Thomas Jefferson moved into the house in 1801, he (with architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe) expanded the building outward, creating two colonnades that were meant to conceal stables and storage.[2] More info visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_House

http://bookinghunter.com
Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia and commonly referred to as Washington, "the District", or simply D.C., is the capital of the United States. On July 16, 1790, the Residence Act approved the creation of a capital district located along the Potomac River on the country's East Coast. As permitted by the U.S. Constitution, the District is under the exclusive jurisdiction of the United States Congress and is therefore not a part of any U.S. state.
The most important places to visit in Washington, D.C., are: The White House (symbolically the most important building of the country, US Presidents have lived and worked here for more than 200 years), Washington Monument (dominating the Washington DC skyline and dedicated to the first US President George Washington), The Capitol (a remarkable neoclassical landmark. Recognized around the world, this is where the US Senate and House of Representatives meet), National Cathedral (it is the most well known US cathedral. This beautiful building has been the site for many national memorial services), Supreme Court (among the country's most important institutions, you can take a tour to learn about its history and inner workings), Lincoln Memorial (dedicated to Abraham Lincoln, 16th US President and a great leader. Completed in 1922, it is modeled after Greek temples), Library of Congress (it is the largest library in the world. The magnificent building houses approximately 90 million archives materials), Jefferson Memorial (it is dedicated to Thomas Jefferson, third US President and one of the Founding Fathers. The memorial is modeled after Rome's Pantheon) and many more.
If you want to save time and money, the most important Washington travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

If you’re in Ireland during the summer and are looking for a place to spend a quiet, relaxing afternoon, take a tour of Bantry House. This extraordinary estate is closed during the winter, so if you’re planning to visit, make sure you plan your trip for the spring or summer.
Bantry House perches over Bantry Bay in County Cork, Ireland. This onetime small home grew exponentially after Richard White purchased the land in 1765; through his careful expansion, the estate eventually surpassed 80,000 acres. It remained in the White family throughout its colorful history, including a five-year stint as a hospital during the Irish Civil War, and today it has been converted into a charming bed and breakfast and tea room.
Bantry House sightseeing includes a trip through some of the estate’s gardens. Explore terraces, rows of shrubs, and hedges, many of which overlook Bantry Bay. A tour of Bantry House’s interior is much like wandering into a museum, as the house is loaded with artwork, antiques, and other decorations. Many of these items date back to Viscount Berehaven, who traveled extensively through Europe with his wife during the 1820s and 1830s. Bantry House isn’t all antiques and art, though; on Fridays, you can peruse local produce and potential souvenirs at the Bantry Market.

Why does the Travel Blogging Community NOT Recognize Black Travel Bloggers?

The White House recently invited travel bloggers to attend the White House Travel Blogger Summit on Study Abroad and Global Citizenship which was held on December 9, 2014. When I heard rumors of the top 100 travel bloggers being invited to the White House for this prestigious event, I asked to see the list of the Top 100 Travel Bloggers which was not necessarily the same as the White House invitee list. However the Top 100 Travel Bloggers List did not include one Black or African American Travel Blogger. Upon further investigation as to which bloggers of color received an invite to this ground-breaking travel promotion event, it was revealed there were no Black or African American Travel Bloggers invited to this White House Travel Blogger Summit. I stated to the travel blogging community of whom are predominantly white that the list lacked Black People. Their responses were that Black Travel Bloggers lack the statistics and influence of White Travel Bloggers. We did not measure up to their metrics for the Top 100 Travel Bloggers List. Some of the bloggers inquired as to whom should be included on the list this verifying stats. I mentioned some top influential Black Travel Bloggers that I know personally as I don’t have stats of their readership available. Despite suggestions of possible candidates, not one Black Travel Blogger was present. The travel blogging community encourages black travel bloggers to keep trying, work harder and maybe next year you will make it. This group also stated that none of the black travel bloggers has the reach level of influence of Johnny Jet or Nomadic Matt. We pointed out to this travel blogging community that Blacks desire to learn about travel from people who look like them. Traveling while Black is an experience that can only be shared by a Black person. Despite a very heated debated Black Travel Bloggers were snubbed by the travel blogging community and not invited to the White House Travel Blogger Summit. This is unacceptable from a travel community group of people who are suppose to have a multicultural viewpoint from their travel experiences.

Take a tour of Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC, United States -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
The Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. can sometimes be lost among the taller, older monuments in the city.
Directly south of the White House on the basin of the Potomac River, this site is dedicated to America's third president, Thomas Jefferson.
The memorial was finished around 1943 and dedicated by then-president Franklin Roosevelt.
The design took inspiration from the Pantheon and Jefferson's own Rotunda at the University of Virginia.
The interior features a bronze statue of Jefferson and quotes from his greatest works, including the Declaration of Independence.
The numerous cherry blossom trees around the memorial were dedicated by the Japanese people in 1912.
The memorial is open 24 hours a day to the people, who Jefferson lived to serve and save from tyranny.

The characteristic white-walled buildings of Santorini are standing upon each other in a happy disorder. The narrow alleys show us a new miracle at each turn. The top of our house is the other house’s balcony, from where there is a perfect view on the dark blue water of the Aegean Sea. The venetian blinds summon the color of the blue sky, the rows of cubic houses are sometimes broken by a blue-domed temple or a windmill. The balconies are full of geranium. The smell of gyros is in the air, from the cafes we hear the bouzouki, and the sight of the sunset from the taverns is unforgettable. The sun is scorching, one can smell the salty air and hear the seagulls, while down below the white boats sail towards their unknown destination.
