Golden Dawn’s spokesperson, Ilias Kasidiaris, made the following statement from the peristyle of the parliament building:
“SYRIZA and New Democracy will be the next coalition government, because this is what the Troika demands. During the Public Service Commission, New Democracy MPs pursued a recital of hypocrisy concerning the ethics of minister of the current government and their portfolios. Ilias Panagiotaros answered the New Democracy hypocrites, reminding them how they should be the last persons to speak of ethics. He reminded the chamber of the former New Democracy ministers’ and the former Prime Minster Samaras’ involvement in orchestrating the plot against Golden Dawn. Golden Dawn’s spokesperson, Ilias Kasidiaris, made the following statement from the peristyle of the parliament building:
“SYRIZA and New Democracy will be the next coalition government, because this is what the Troika demands. The clashes between Tsipras and Meimarakis are a show, since up to now they’ve voted hand in hand for all the anti-Greek bills, for the Memorandums, for the illegal immigrants and for the Islamic mosques.
The only resistance force to the sell-off of Greece is Golden Dawn, which will dramatically increase her electoral percentages and will be the next main opposition party.”

Panagiotaros reminded all of the phone calls Samaras made to judicial officials, and the arrest he arranged of MPs.
Below are just a few links showcasing the ethics of New Democracy:

New Democracy ad Part II: With New Democracy in power...
Pablo Iglesias en Democracy Nows!
¿Otro Syriza?

Greek opinion poll gives Syriza clearest lead this month over New Democracy
Greece's leftist Syriza party has pulled 5 points clear of conservative New Democracy as general elections draw near, according to a poll on Sept.11 that gave the clearest lead to either of the two main rivals in 18 surveys.
The parties have been neck-and-neck in the run-up to the Sept. 20 election, with all other polls published this month showing a gap of 1 percentage point or less.
But the Sept.11 ProRata poll in left-leaning daily newspaper Efimerida ton Syndakton put Syriza, led by former prime minister Alexis Tsipras, on 28.5 percent and Vangelis Meimarakis' New Democracy on 23.5 percent.
Other pollsters caution that it is too

Greek conservative to seek pact with leftists first if he wins election
Greek conservative leader Vangelis Meimarakis will seek an alliance with his main leftist rivals first if he wins this month's election, insisting that the country must not miss the "last chance" to pull itself out of a seven-year crisis.
In an interview with Reuters, the 61-year-old political veteran said his New Democracy party would turn to other pro-European groups if Syriza - the leftist party that led Greece for seven turbulent months this year - rejected his advances.
Syriza forced the election last month when its leader Alexis Tsipras resigned as prime minister, hoping to end a party rebellion over Greece's new bailout deal and retu

Alexis Tsipras may appear confident ahead of next week’s snap elections in Greece, but the latest polls may give him reason to worry.
The conservative New Democracy party has chipped away at the leftist Syriza’s wide lead, and now pundits are saying the result is too close to call with Syriza ahead by a hair.
Speaking to euronews reporter Efi Kotsoukosta, Tsipras remained serene about the ballot saying,
“I’m sure that SYRIZA will come first at the elections and I believe that reaching the absolute majority is absolutely feasible. Even if this happens we will look for cooperation, if not, we have our programme, our plan and I believe that there will be political forces and people in the parliament that won’t be willing to risk a new round of elections. Therefore, I am sure that after the 20th of September, over the coming days, there will be a government which will proceed with the huge effort we started on the 25th of January”.
You can see the rest of the interview with Alexis Tsipras Tuesday 15th September from 20:40 CET only on euronews
Back in July a poll put Syriza ahead with 42%, prompting Tsipras to call early elections after a mutiny from hardliners in his party over third bailout deal. Both Syriza and New Democracy agree on the need to implement reforms, but disagree on who is best to qualified to do so.
With Syriza and New Democracy battling for the top spots, the far-right Golden Dawn looks set to come in third, with the Communist (KKE) party following behind.

Greece's Syriza, New Democracy still hard to separate, polls show
The leftist Syriza party of former Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras maintained a wafer-thin pre-election lead over conservative New Democracy in three opinion polls on Saturday, with a fourth putting them level-pegging.
The two parties have been hard to separate in the run-up to the Sept. 20 ballot, and Tsipras and his center-right counterpart Vangelis Meimarakis have spent much of their campaigns trying to protect their vote, trading accusations over Greece's economic crisis, migration and corruption.
In surveys published in the Sunday editions of four newspapers, Syriza led by between 0.3 percent and 0.7 percent in three, hovering around 26 percent of the vote.
A fourth, by Public Issue poll in Avgi that included the preferences of undecided voters, put both parties on 31 percent.
In the other polls the undecideds, invariably the third largest bloc in surveys published this month, came in at between 10.4 and 14.1 percent
Pollsters expect some of those voters to come off the fence after a televised head-to-head debate between Tspiras and Meimarakis on Monday, though a seven-party debate broadcast on Wednesday had little impact on voting intentions.

Other pollsters caution that it is too early to draw conclusions from the data, obtained Sept. 7-9, and that likely patterns will emerge closer to the election, notably because of a large contingent of undecided voters.
"There is no clear trend yet in favour of one or the other direction. This ambiguity may end next week or even on the day of the election," said Thomas Gerakis, head of the Marc polling agency. "Many people have not even decided whether it's worth voting at all."
Tsipras and Meimarakis have spent much of their campaigns trading accusations over Greece's economic crisis, migration and institutionalised corruption, most recently in a largely inconclusive televised debate on Sept.9.
Pollsters say a second televised head-to-head on Sept.14 evening may influence undecided voters, which the ProRata poll put at 17.5 percent.
With neither party looking close to winning an outright parliamentary majority, the leaders have also broached the issue of post-election alliances, with Tsipras demurring and Meimarakis sounding more amenable.
The New Democracy leader told Reuters in an interview on Sept.10 that he would try to team up with Syriza if his party placed first, and turn to other pro-European groups if that approach was rejected.
Syriza forced the election last month when Tsipras resigned as prime minister, hoping to end a party rebellion over Greece's new bailout deal and trade on his then greater popularity by returning to power with a clear majority.
The previous ProRata poll on Aug. 28 gave Syriza a three-point lead, at a time when other surveys showed the party between one and three points ahead.

Syriza forced the election last month when its leader Alexis Tsipras resigned as prime minister, hoping to end a party rebellion over Greece's new bailout deal and return to power with an outright parliamentary majority.
But New Democracy, which lost power only in January, has surprised everyone with the strength of its campaign. Opinion polls put it neck-and-neck with Syriza, meaning the election on Sept. 20 is unlikely to produce an outright winner. A coalition government will therefore have to be cobbled together to ensure Greece is not forced into a disruptive new round of elections.
"The first party that I would turn to would be the one that ranked second," said Meimarakis, who became interim New Democracy leader in July after former prime minister Antonis Samaras resigned.
"If the second party does not want to join in, I will turn to the parties which believe in the country's European course and with which we can at least agree on a plan of a viable government, hopefully a four-year term one."
Meimarakis was referring to Syriza, which in negotiating the 86 billion euro ($97 billion) bailout with the euro zone and IMF was forced to ditch its election promises to end austerity.
The polls suggest the election will be a largely two-horse race, meaning that if New Democracy wins, Syriza is almost certain to be the second party in the next parliament. Support for each party fluctuates around the 25 percent level.
Greece needs a stable government to implement its side of the bailout deal to keep the country from lurching back towards bankruptcy and an exit from the euro, as it did this summer.
However, Syriza has so far spurned overtures from New Democracy, calling it part of an establishment responsible for the economic malaise. Tsipras says he is still hoping for an outright victory and a mandate to implement the austerity policies demanded by the creditors which have split his party.
Other pro-euro parties Meimarakis could turn to include the Socialist PASOK and centrist To Potami. The right-wing Independent Greeks' party - Tsipras's former coalition ally - however, has suggested it would prefer to team up with Syriza again.
Since sliding into crisis in 2008-2009, Greece has held four parliamentary elections and had seven governments. In 2012 it held two elections in successive months to break a political deadlock.
But a repeat election this time would plunge the country into political instability, said Meimarakis, a former speaker of parliament.
"This is the country's last chance," he said. "I am mature. I'm ready, with a plan, with the party's top brass and a united parliamentary group, to pull the country out of the crisis."
Meimarakis accused Tsipras of scaring away investors during his brief time in power, when the banks were closed for three weeks, capital controls were imposed and several privatization deals stalled.
Greece should unblock big infrastructure projects halted under the last government and sign up to more investment. "Our first aim is to restore confidence in the country," he said.
FOCUS ON ALLIANCE
Meimarakis said that even if New Democracy won outright, it would cooperate with other political forces to form a negotiating team for dealing with the European Union and International Monetary Fund lenders.
"We need to coordinate and reach an agreement. And even if some political forces don't want to take part in the government, there will be a national negotiating team in which they should. It's their democratic obligation to participate," he said.
Syriza has promised to implement the bailout but also negotiate open issues such collective pay bargaining and pension reform. It has also pledged to seek debt relief.
Asked whether he would renegotiate parts of the bailout, Meimarakis said Greece had to make significant progress, meet its fiscal targets to regain its foreign lenders' trust and push for measures to mitigate the impact of economic adjustment.
A New Democracy-led government, he said, would try to ease taxation and seek a restructuring of its debt.

The Origin of Democracy - BBC Documentary 2015 New Documentary
The Greeks: Crucible of Civilization
It was perhaps the most spectacular flourishing of imagination and achievement in recorded history. In the Fourth and Fifth Centuries BC, the Greeks built an empire that stretched across the Mediterranean from Asia to Spain. They laid the foundations of modern science, politics, warfare and philosophy, and produced some of the most breathtaking art and architecture the world has ever seen. This series, narrated by Liam Neeson, recounts the rise, glory, demise and legacy of the empire that marked the dawn of Western civilization. The story of this astonishing civilization is told through the lives of heroes of ancient Greece. The latest advances in computer and television technology rebuild the Acropolis, recreate the Battle of Marathon and restore the grandeur of the Academy, where Socrates, Plato and Aristotle forged the foundation of Western though. The series combines dramatic storytelling, stunning imagery, new research and distinguished scholarship to render classical Greece gloriously alive.
The Revolution
The first part tells the story of the troubled birth of the world's first democracy, ancient Athens, through the life of an Athenian nobleman, Cleisthenes. In the brutal world of the 5th century BC, the Athenians struggle against a series of tyrants and their greatest rival, Sparta, to create a new "society of equals." This documentary makes history entertaining as well as educational. Beautifully photographed, using reenactments, paintings, maps, pottery, metalwork, and "living statues" to take the viewer on a vicarious journey through ancient Greece. Episode one, The Revolution, begins at the dawn of democracy in 508 B.C., with the revolution of the common people against aristocratic rule. The film then travels further back in time to chronicle the key events leading up to the revolution. As the camera roams ancient ruins, the Greek countryside, and old stone roads, the viewer learns that the inhabitants of Greece once lived in mud houses with no sewage and frequently fell prey to disease and warfare. Unable to write, they memorized their works of literature in order to pass them on to the next generation. Over time, their hardship and learning whetted their appetite for freedom. After rule by tyrants of the aristocratic class and a struggle for power, Cleisthenes (570-507 B.C.), himself an aristocrat, sided with the common people of Athens and brought democracy into being. From this beginning, western democracy developed and flourished. All the while during their early maturation into a Mediterranean power, Athens and other city-states had to live with the threat of war from expansionist Sparta as well as the vast Persian Empire. But democracy had taken root, and it proved in the long run to be a greater force than the mightiest of armies. The program closes on the eve of the new society's first great test: invasion by the mighty empire of Persia.

One supporter said Meimarakis speaks the language of the ordinary folk. "He doesn't lie, he doesn't make false promises and he can be a better prime minister th…

America’s grand strategy was revealed in the 1998 US Space Command document, ‘Vision for 2020’. It called for “Full Spectrum Dominance”, including the pre-emptive use of nuclear weapons. In 2000, the Project for a New American Century released ‘Rebuilding America’s Defenses’. It said: “…the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbour.” Exactly one year later, America got its ‘new Pearl Harbour’…

Recorded on 12 February 2015 in Hong Kong Theatre, Clement House.
The Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) provisions in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) have recently become a major political stumbling stone. What can be learned from the resistance in terms of legal compatibility with EU law and domestic law – and of political acceptability?
Jan Kleinheisterkamp is Associate Professor at LSE Law and teaches International Arbitration, Contracts, and Investment Treaty Law. Much of his recent research has focused on the interaction between investment treaty law and EU law and influenced the work of the European Parliament on this subject.
Martti Koskenniemi is Professor of International Law at the University of Helsinki and Centennial Professor at LSE.
Shawn Donnan (@sdonnan) is World Trade Editor at the Financial Times.
LSE Law (@lselaw) is an integral part of the School's mission, plays a major role in policy debates & in the education of lawyers and law teachers from around the world.

To mark The Nation’s 150th anniversary, John Nichols was joined in conversation by the eminent radical intellectual Noam Chomsky at the Tucson Festival of Books in Arizona on March 15. Discussing issues ranging from media accountability and voter participation, to money in politics and income inequality, Chomsky offered insight into the greatest challenges of our time.
“The race towards disaster is being carried out with almost euphoric intensity,” said Chomsky. Chomsky maintains that meaningful change requires a democratic awakening. “Democracy is a threat to any power system,” he said.

Guns N' Roses, one of America's premier hard rock bands were formed in Hollywood in 1985. They have six studio albums, three Ep's, and one live album under their belt to date. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist IzzyStradlin, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler. Axl Rose is the only current original member of Guns N' Roses. The band's 1987 debut album "Appetite for Destruction" has sold in excess of 28 million copies worldwide and reached No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 and is also the highest selling debut album of all time in the US.
After over a decade of work and many lineup changes, the band released their album, Chinese Democracy, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified double platinum in Canada. On Tuesday, September 27, 2011, Guns N' Roses was announced as nominee for 2012 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is well overdue, and more than deserved!
