AngelList is a US website for startups, angel investors, and job-seekers looking to work at startups. The platform has a mission democratizing the investment process. It started as an online introduction board for tech startups that needed seed funding. Now, the site allows startups to raise money from angel investors free of charge.
AngelList syndicates allow investors to invite other accredited investors to share in the deals.
It was founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneur Naval Ravikant and Babak Nivi. AngelList offers investment syndicates in which startups raise money from accredited investors investing alongside prominent angel investors. The company is also looking at equity crowdfunding with unaccredited investors after the passage of the US JOBS Act. Naval cites his own experiences as a serial entrepreneur and the struggles of finding funding, as the impetus for the AngelList platform.

Timothy "Tim" Ferriss (born July 20, 1977) is an American author, entrepreneur, angel investor, and public speaker. He has written a number of self-help books which have appeared on the New York Times bestseller, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestseller lists, starting with "The 4-Hour Workweek".
Ferriss is also an angel investor or an advisor to Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Evernote, and Uber, among other companies.
Ferriss grew up in East Hampton, New York and graduated from St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire. He received a degree in East Asian Studies from Princeton University in 2000 (after switching from Neuroscience in an effort to "avoid putting printer jacks on cat heads"). After graduation, Ferriss worked in sales at a data storage company. Ferriss began building his own Internet business, BrainQUICKEN, while still employed at the company.
Ferriss has stated that, prior to his writing career, he won in the 165 lb. weight class at the 1999 USAWKF national Sanshou (Chinese kickboxing) championship through a process of shoving opponents out of the ring and by dramatically dehydrating himself before weigh in, and then rehydrating before the fight in order to compete several classes below his actual weight - a practice known as "Weight cutting".
Sarah Ruth Lacy (born December 29, 1975) is an American technology journalist and author.
Lacy received her B.A. in literature from Rhodes College.
Lacy is the former co-host of web video show Yahoo! Tech Ticker and was a columnist at BusinessWeek.
Lacy was a columnist at TechCrunch until November 19, 2011.
She is the author of 2 books: Once You're Lucky, Twice You're Good (2008), which also goes under the title The Stories of Facebook, Youtube and Myspace; as well as Brilliant, Crazy, Cocky: How the Top 1% of Entrepreneurs Profit from Global Chaos (2011).
In 2012, Lacy founded technology news site PandoDaily with a reported $2.5m investment from investors including Marc Andreessen, Peter Thiel, Tony Hsieh, David Sze, Jim Breyer, Reid Hoffman, Chris Dixon and Josh Kopelman. The site consists of a daily technology blog and a monthly event series entitled "PandoMonthly".
A series of emails from 2012 indicate Sarah Lacy was involved in a dispute regarding an event PandoDaily hosted in 2012 at event space Cross Campus in Los Angeles.

www.spartan.com/155 It all boils down to desire. Is it possible to tame your monkey mind ever distracted by desires and pleasures that only soothe you in the short term? Naval Ravikant, the founder of Angel List, says to reach a true sense of happiness, it is not only possible but necessary. Ravikant explains how to find your true calling and why doing so gifs you the upper hand in any business or personal venture. You become unbeatable. Success may involve years of hard work, but paradoxically, not much struggle. Instead it’s about a quest for flow. How can we tap into that flow? Ravikant will show you how. Lessons: 1. If you want to be the best, you need to pick one thing to be the best at. 2. The ones who succeed are the ones who are irrationally passionate about what they’re d...

In a fireside chat with Sarah Lacy, AngelList's Naval Ravikant told the story of how AngelList worked to get the JOBS act passed, said to the audience (and the Valley in general) that it's okay for some startups to be treated like the experiments that they are and, naturally, talked a bit about fundraising and the karma of cash. Oh, and he announced that incubators will soon be accepting applications through AngelList, a first for the company, and talked about the parallels between CraigsList and AngelList.
Kamal Ravikant's book, Love Yourself, made HighExistence.com's list of 25 Best Books to Read Before You're 25. In this speech, he shares some wisdom on why self-love is really what truly matters in life. He then goes on to talk about the importance of truly loving yourself. This is a raw, honest, 20-minute video summary of how a highly successful entrepreneur and investor was forced to re-evaluate his life. In a fireside chat with Sarah Lacy, Naval Ravikant talks on the evolution of AngelList.
If you've never heard of AngelList or Naval Ravikant, you'll never forget the man or the platform after this interview. The online community lets potential investors and startups mingle, meet, and get deals flowing. And now with the addition of syndicates, smaller investors can join in on the deals of angel investors they back. As Naval put it, "it's like Kickstarter, but for equity." When he sat down with Jason at LAUNCH Hackathon, they cut to the core of what early-stage entrepreneurs want to know. Should I join an accelerator? Which one? How do I get through my Series A crunch? When do I stay lean, and when do I try to scale? All these questions and more answered in this great episode. Never miss an episode!
