Dean was raised outside of any Christian church. He was introduced to Christ, as a teen, through Young Life. Once he accepted the Lord Jesus, he never turned back, eventually attending seminary and being ordained an Anglican priest in Canada. Very soon he discovered that there was a need to defend the essentials of the Christian faith in the Anglican Communion in Canada. As a member of a group of Protestant ministers seeking to preserve historic Christian beliefs, he was introduced to Catholic teaching through the reading of St. John Paul II encyclicals. After a five-year journey of reading and study, Dean was led to full-communion with the Catholic Church. Six years after this episode, Father Dean was ordained a Catholic priest, in 2007. He currently ministers in a Catholic parish in Victoria, Canada.

Anglican Church leaders suspend US Church over gay marriage
Anglican Church leaders have effectively re-affirmed their opposition to same-sex marriage - by punishing the liberal US Episcopal Church over the issue.
The Episcopal Church has been suspended from Anglican committees and decision-making for three years after allowing its clergy to perform same sex marriages.
The decision was taken by a majority of church leaders at a meeting of the Anglican Communion in Canterbury.

Anglican Communion Suspends U.S. Episcopal Church Over Same-Sex Marriage

Archbishops of the worldwide Anglican Communion voted Thursday to suspend the entire U.S. Episcopal Church over its embrace of same-sex marriage, which they said has caused "deep pain" and "deeper mistrust" in the denomination.
The vote by archbishops meeting in Canterbury, England, essentially directs Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby to relegate almost 2 million American Episcopalians to non-voting "observer" status within their own communion.

Under the terms of the resolution, American Episcopalians and leaders will be stripped of their votes at Anglican conferences and assemblies, won't be allowed to participate in decision-making "on issues of doctrine or polity" and can't officially represent the Anglican Communion on interfaith commissions.
The action isn't anywhere near as severe as expulsion or excommunication. But the Rev. Michael B. Curry, presiding bishop of the U.S. church, said it does cause "real pain" for American Episcopalians.
"For fellow disciples of Jesus in our church who are gay or lesbian, this will bring more pain," Curry said in a statement distributed through the church's Episcopal News Service.
"For many who have felt and been rejected by the church because of who they are, for many who have felt and been rejected by families and communities, our church opening itself in love was a sign of hope," Curry said. "And this will add pain on top of pain."
The U.S. branch of the church has been at odds with the parent communion ever since it elected the first openly gay Episcopal bishop, Gene Robinson, in 2003. Robinson couldn't immediately be reached for comment, but he said Thursday on Twitter that Curry "speaks for me."

Anglicans sanction US Episcopal Church over gay marriage
Anglican leaders on Thursday temporarily restricted the role of the U.S. Episcopal Church in their global fellowship as a sanction over the American church's acceptance of gay marriage.
Episcopalians have been barred for three years from any policy-setting positions in the Anglican Communion
while a task force is formed that will try to reconcile conflicting views over sexuality in the 85-million-member family of churches.
The Episcopal Church is the Anglican body in the United States.
The announcement came near the end of a weeklong meeting in Canterbury, England, called by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby,
to heal rifts over same-sex relationships and keep the Anglican Communion from splitting apart.
Welby, the Anglican spiritual leader, has set a news conference Friday in Canterbury to explain the leaders' decision.
Episcopal Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, who was installed in office less than three months ago, has been attending the meeting.
He told the other leaders their vote "will bring real pain" to gays and lesbians and to Episcopalians "committed to following Jesus in the way of love
and being a church that lives that love." Still, he said he was committed to the Anglican family.

Former Stone Town Slave Market in Zanzibar. Zanzibar had the last legally operating slave market in the world.
What now stands on the site? The Anglican Cathedral Church of Christ. The former whipping tree is marked at the altar by a white marble circle surrounded by red to symbolise the blood of the slaves.
They built the Anglican Christ Church on top of the old slave market auction area. In the exact location where the whipping post was is now the center of the alter. There is also a cross inside made from the tree where Dr. Livingston is buried in Zambia. He died of malaria, naturally.
When entering the church, look at the marble pillars. They were imported as a gift from Italy and the engineer put the first ones in upside down. As a result they put all of them upside down for uniformity. Also has one of only two special types of organs in Africa, other in Cape Town, South Africa.
All slaves would have to spend 3 days in those cramped and horrible conditions to separate the weak from the strong. Many weak died in those chambers as they gave the slaves barely enough food and water to survive. The channels in the middle were used as bathrooms and the chambers were connected to the ocean by a small tunnel.
The Hamamni Persian Baths are an historical building of Stone Town, Zanzibar. The name Hamamni is also used to refer to the neighbourhood where the building is located.
The Baths were built between 1870 and 1888 for sultan Barghash bin Said for use as public baths, and maintained this function until 1920. They are referred to as "Persian" because their construction was commissioned to Shirazi architects. The word "Hamamni" means "the place of the baths".
The building had a complex structure with several rooms, including hot and cold baths, toilets, shaving areas, and a restaurant. Hot water was provided by underground aqueducts. Entrance was subject to a fee, so that only wealthy zanzibaris could use them regularly. They were open both to men and women, but with different hours of admittance.
The Baths are not working anymore, but they are open to visitors and are a major tourist attractions of Stone Town. Visits are limited to some areas of the original complex because part of it (e.g., the restaurant) has since been adapted for private residences.

Denominations - Ura Schrock
A study of the major denominations from the viewpoint of the New Testament scriptures and from the actual out-workings of the false doctrine, with the object of preparing the individual to defend the truth.
Fairhaven Baptist College was founded to train young people for God's service. Hundreds have been prepared for full-time service as pastors, assistant pastors, missionaries, secretaries, and school teachers. Others have attended Fairhaven to become better-equipped laymen.
Fairhaven is a local Baptist church, and the college is a distinct ministry of that church. Fairhaven Baptist College was conceived in the heart of Pastor Roger Voegtlin as a direct result of God's leading, and the congregation is thrilled with the opportunity to be a part of training future soldiers for God.
