In local Balti language, Deosai is called Byarsa, meaning ‘summer place’. The plateau is located at the boundary of the Karakorum and the western Himalayas.
Deosai National Park is at an average elevation of 4,114 metres (13,497 ft) above the sea level, making the Deosai Plains one of the highest plateaus in the world. The park protects an area of 3,000 square kilometres (1,200 sq mi). It is well known for its rich flora and fauna of the Karakoram-West Tibetan Plateau alpine steppe ecoregion. In the Spring season it is covered by sweeps wildflowers and a wide variety of butterflies.
Deosai - Sheosar Lake
Deosai Lake, or Sheosar Lake from the Shina language[citation needed] meaning "Blind lake" (Sheo - Blind, Sar - lake)[citation needed] is in the park. The lake, at an elevation of 4,142 metres (13,589 ft), is one of the highest lakes in the world. Its length is 2.3 kilometres (7,500 ft), width 1.8 kilometres (5,900 ft) and average depth 40 metres (130 ft). It is located near the Chilim Valley on the Deosai Plains.
Wildlife
The Deosai National Park was established in 1993 to protect the survival of the Himalayan Brown Bear and its habitat. Having long been a prize kill for poachers and hunters, the bear now has a hope for survival in Deosai where its number has increased from only 19 in 1993 to 40 in 2005. During the last decade, a few but effective measures have been taken by the Government of Pakistan for the survival of Brown Bear in the region. In 1993, Himalayan Wildlife Project was founded with a substantial financial support from international environmental concerns. But the brown bear is still under threat.
The Deosai Plains are also home to the Himalayan Ibex, Red Fox, Golden Marmot, Gray Wolf, the Ladakh Urial, the Snow Leopard, and over 124 resident and migratory birds. Birds in the park include the Golden Eagle, Lammergeier, Griffon Vulture, Laggar Falcon, Peregrine Falcon, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and Snowcock.

Quid-e-Azam Solar Park - Bahwalpur, Pakistan - The Largest Solar Park of the World
Pakistan and China are on their way to building the world’s largest solar farm, with the completion of a 100 Megawatt, 400,000-panel pilot power project, the first solar power plant ever built in Pakistan. Spread out over almost 500 acres of flat land in the Punjabi desert and known as the Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Park (QUASP), the $130 million project took just three months for Chinese company, Xinjian Sun-oasis to build. And it is just the first part of a larger project, the $46 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. According to China-dialogue, when the project is complete in 2017, the same site could see a total of 5.2 million photo-voltaic cells producing up to 1,000 Megawatts of electricity – or enough to power about 320,000 homes. Critics say the project will create new environmental problems while it solves others.
Built in an area that used to be simply wilderness, and gets 13 hours of sunlight every day, it’s an ideal location for solar power. According to QUASP CEO, Najam Ahmed Shah, it will make energy in Pakistan much cleaner by displacing about 57,500 tonnes of coal burnt each year and reducing carbon emissions by 90,750 tonnes yearly. It will also help Pakistan meets its goal of reducing hydrocarbon usage to 60 percent by 2025, down from the current number of 87 percent.
But the project is not without its detractors. Some experts say the project is being built too far from where the energy will be consumed, and require the costly installation of grid infrastructure and subsequent maintenance. And others point out that renewable energy sources still have their own environmental impacts, such as water usage for solar power production. Solar panels need to be kept clean, which requires water to wash them. According to China-dialogue, the water needed to clean the expected 5.2 million solar panels for the project would be massive – especially for a country like Pakistan that already faces water shortages.
And since the project is being built in a wilderness area, the construction and increased human activity will undoubtedly affect biodiversity and fauna and flora in the area.

Currently the Tiger (panthera tigris) is only on the "Endangered" list of IUCN. Looking at the history however, the tiger has been on the endangered list as far back as the 1980's when the IUCN Conservation monitoring centre first put it there. From the countries listed it is sad to read that once this animal used to roam widely across Asia, from Turkey to Russia. Today they are extinct in Afghanistan, Iran, Republic of Islamic, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Singapore, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. It

The unique geographical features of the subcontinent, along with associated atmospheric, oceanic and geophysical components, are influential in ensuring the anticipated behavior for a monsoon in the Indian Subcontinent. Due to its effect on agriculture, flora and fauna and the general weather of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc., among other economic, social and environmental effects, a monsoon is one of the most anticipated, followed and studied weather phenomena of the Indian subcontinent. It has significant impact on the overall well-being of subcontinent residents and has even been dubbed the "real finance minister of India".

Background:
The Governments of Karnataka and India secretively diverted about 10,000 acres of pristine grassland ecosystems in Challakere Taluk, Chitradurga district during 2007-13 for a massive military-industrial-nuclear complex. Local communities were rudely awakened to the diversion when they saw massive double containment high security walls came up all over the grasslands, thus completely blocking their access to their ancient grazing pastures.
These grasslands have been protected and conserved by local communities for hundreds of years as grazing pastures for an indigenous breed of cattle called Amrit Mahal; thus the name Amrit Mahal Kavals (Kaval=grazing pasture). The Kavals are also important habitats for the sustenance of the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard (only 200 individuals are left in India and Pakistan combined, making it the most threatened faunal species globally), Lesser Florican (about 2000 individuals are left on this planet), the highly threatened Black Buck and a host of other species of flora and fauna endemic to semi-arid grassland ecosystems. As semi-arid grassland ecosystems, the Kavals are a repository of biodiversity, particularly of grasses, that could help develop climate change resilient food crops. Over time, the Kavals have also supported rearing of various other local breeds of cattle and the famous Deccani sheep. The famous Challakere Kambli (blanket), much sought after by the Indian Army to protect soldiers from the biting cold of the Himalayas, is made from the Deccani sheep that graze these Kavals.
Beerappa is considered the God of the Kavals and is revered everywhere as the protector of pastoralists. Rich folklore is associated with the Kavals and the pastoral lifestyles, in which the feisty Amrit Mahal breed, used by armies over centuries to drag weapons and heavy equipment over long ranges, has a pride of place. Local communities are intricately linked to the Kavals in every way and the grasslands are not merely grazing pastures for them, they are sacred places where Gods and ancestors are worshipped.
At the time of independence, Karnataka had about 4,70,000 acres of Amrit Mahal Kavals spread across several districts. Today, only 30000 acres are left in the state, with Challakere alone accounting for over 15,000 acres; thus constituting the last contiguous stretch of such semi-arid grasslands in south India.
It is in the Challakere Kavals that a massive complex of military-industrial-nuclear projects is now being promoted by DRDO, BARC, IISc, ISRO, Indian Army, etc..
Local communities have consistently resisted the diversion of the Kavals. In additions to organising numerous protests, and frequently, they have knocked on the doors of the Karnataka High Court, Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal. A key question has been why all are all these projects proposed in the Kavals, violating age-old wisdome and specific judicial directions to protect them for posterity. Communities have also asked how these projects is a water-starved area that can barely support current agricultural and drinking water demands.
None in power have responded to these concerns. Silence and secrecy has been the response over years.

BBC Nature Documentary - American Tiger (Tiger Documentary)
It is also highly possible that there are extinct in Fujian, Guangdon, Jiangzi, Jiangzi, Shaanzi and Zhejiang to name a few.
BBC Nature Documentary - American Tiger (Tiger Documentary)
Since the early 1990's it has been feared that poaching would wipe out this majestic creature, for the use of their bones. Tiger bones are used in traditional Asian medicine and have been considered to hold anti-inflammatory properties; however this is still yet to be proven. While countries have banned the use and manufacture of tiger bone, illegal production persists in several Asian countries. In China there are several operations engaged in 'farming' of tigers. They are pressuring the government to allow them to produce and manufacture tiger products as their captive population reaches 5,000.
Other markets include poaching for skin, teeth and claws. Due to habitat decrease another threat that has been building up over the years is conflict killings. Tigers have been shot due to farmers protecting their livestock.
On International Species Information System, ISIS, a non-profit organization that provides zoological data, there was a total of 164 males, 190 females, 4 unknowns and 3 births for the Panthera Tigris. Out of which 7 males, 11 females and three births were all in South Africa.
Ecologically speaking, loss of large cats such as tigers from their natural habitat has been seen to result in irreversible changes in natural ecosystems. Being at the top of the food-chain, the decline of large predators inevitably leads to over-abundance of herbivores such as deer, which in turn has repercussions on tree regeneration and seed dispersal. Such effects reverberate through the food-web, causing long-term changes in natural flora and fauna, eventually leading to species losses. For instance, the absence of carnivores has led to over-population of white-tailed deer in Eastern United States, of blue bull in the Gangetic plains of northern India and agoutis in Barro Colorado Island, Panama.
