ARM Press Conference at Computex 2014 presented by Ian Drew, CMO, ARM; and Noel Hurley, Deputy GM, ARM. CMO Ian Drew emphasized processors are no longer categorized solely on level. It's more important to combine differentiated technologies and offer the most appropriate architecture for various applications. In terms of processor market, Noel Hurley, Deputy GM of CPU at ARM, said it will be further specialized, such as graphic processors, microprocessors and embedded processors for user interfaces on various devices/applications. It can also work with semiconductor partners for IoT development for differentiated products in response to market demands.

Thanks to ARM's low power processors, according to him, about 6 billion connected devices are on the Internet, today. Yet, they are squeezing out the network capacity. But, they are also dramatically increasing the power budget of the base stations and the data center.
Furthermore, over the next couple of years, those connected devices will be connecting to other local networks like IEEE802.15 ZigBee and sub-GHz to create several trillions of the Internet of things' according to him.
The explosions in the data traffic will further strain the power consumption as well as the capacity of the network and data center to the limit.
That's what ARM bet on with its wide range of low power and high-performance CPU professor families.

ARM Holdings plc's ambition goes beyond smart phones into server and smart grid market. Numbering its Cortex CPU processors from M0 for smart metering to A50 series for data center servers, the Cambridge, U.K.-based processor architecture IP provider is looking everywhere where low-power budget is in high demand for a next stream of revenue.
Yet, ARM won't build its vision of 'ARM processor everywhere' alone on its own , but on a broad range of partnership in the same way that it has created an entire ecosystem for its mobile processor architecture for smartphone and tablet PCs.
At ARM Technology Symposium 2012 held in Seoul, Ian Drew, executive vice president of marketing and business development wit ARM Holdings said, "We can talk about how low power devices really change the way people consume data.
