Vaishno Devi Temple is near the town of Katra, Jammu and Kashmir -Katra, in the Reasi district in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the most revered places of worship in India. The shrine is at an altitude of 5500 feet and a distance of approximately 8 miles from Katra. Approximately 8 million pilgrims visit the temple every year and it is the second most visited religious shrine in India, after Tirumala Venkateswara Temple (Tirupati).

National Highway 1 (NH 1), also known as Srinagar-Leh Highway, is a National Highway entirely within the state of Jammu & Kashmir in North India that connects Srinagar to Leh in Ladakh and is maintained by Project Vijayak of the Border Roads Organisation. It is one of the only two roads that connect Ladakh with the rest of India, the other being Leh-Manali Highway. The Srinagar-Leh Highway was declared as National Highway in 2006.[1][2]

The Delhi International Arts Festival, one of India’s most prestigious cultural festivals, began in New Delhi today. The Union Ministry of Culture and Indian Council for Cultural Relations are the principal collaborators of the festival .
The inaugural function saw an array of performances by dancers from Turkey, Kazakastan and Malaysia as well as an opening rendition of vedic chants of ‘Veda-Shakha Swadhyaya’ .
This Iconic festival of the arts which spans two weeks in multiple venues will present dance, music, theatre-both national and international from the most traditional forms to cutting edge contemporary, poetry, literature, exhibitions, handloom and handicrafts, film festivals, a North East carnival, Sufi and Qawwali.
The Festival will see performances by artistic groups from over 14 countries alongside over 2000 Indian artistes.
Among those present at the function included Dr Murali Manohar Joshi, Member of Parliament; Smt Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Union Minister of Women & Child Development; Mr. K. K Mittal, Additional Secretary, Union M/o Culture and Mr. Satish C Mehta, DG, ICCR.
The festival is being held from 28th October to 11th November, 2014.

Jammu and Kashmir 
i/ˌdʒɑːmuː/ & /ˈkæʃmɪər/ is the northernmost state of India. It is situated mostly in the Himalayan mountains. Jammu and Kashmir shares a border with the states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to the south and internationally with the People's Republic of China to the north and east and the Pakistan-administered territories of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit–Baltistan, to the west and northwest respectively.
Formerly a part of the erstwhile Princely State of Kashmir and Jammu, which governed the larger historic region of Kashmir, this territory is disputed among China, India and Pakistan. Pakistan, which claims the territory as disputed, refers to it alternatively as Indian-occupied Kashmir or Indian-held Kashmir, while some international agencies such as the United Nations, call it Indian-administered Kashmir. The regions under the control of Pakistan are referred to as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir or PoK within India.
Jammu and Kashmir consists of three regions: Jammu, the Kashmir valley and Ladakh. Srinagar is the summer capital, and Jammu is the winter capital. While the Kashmir valley is famous for its beautiful mountainous landscape, Jammu's numerous shrines attract tens of thousands of Hindu pilgrims every year. Ladakh, also known as "Little Tibet", is renowned for its remote mountain beauty and Buddhist culture.

Jammu /ˈdʒɑːmuː/ (Dogri: जम्मू, Urdu: جموں 
pronunciation (help·info), Punjabi: ਜੰਮੂ), also known informally as Duggardesh, is one of the three administrative divisions within Jammu and Kashmir, the northernmost state in India. The region is not a state per se but a part of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It consists of the districts of Doda, Kathua, Jammu, Udhampur, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Samba, Kishtwar & Poonch. Most of the land is hilly or mountainous, including the Pir Panjal range which separates it from the Kashmir Valley and part of the Great Himalayas in the eastern districts of Doda and Kishtwar. The principal river is the Chenab.
Jammu city, officially called Jammu-Tawi, is the largest city in Jammu and the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu City is also known as "City of Temples" as it has many temples and shrines, with glittering shikhars soaring into the sky, which dot the city’s skyline, creating the ambiance of a holy and peaceful Hindu city.
Home to some of the most popular Hindu shrines, such as Vaishno Devi, Jammu is a pilgrimage tourism destination in India. The majority of Jammu's 5.9 million population practices Hinduism, while Islam and Sikhism enjoy a strong cultural heritage in the region. Due to relatively better infrastructure, Jammu has emerged as the main economic center of the state.

Kashmir (Balti, Gojri, Poonchi/Chibhali, Dogri: कश्मीर; Kashmiri: कॅशीर, کٔشِیر; Ladakhi: ཀཤམིར; Uyghur: كەشمىر; Shina: کشمیر) is the northwestern region of the Indian subcontinent. Until the mid-19th century, the term Kashmir geographically denoted only the valley between the Great Himalayas and the Pir Panjal mountain range. Today Kashmir denotes a larger area that includes the Indian-administered state of Jammu and Kashmir (the Kashmir valley, Jammu and Ladakh), the Pakistani-administered Gilgit–Baltistan and the Azad Kashmir provinces, and the Chinese-administered regions of Aksai Chin and Trans-Karakoram Tract.
In the first half of the first millennium, the Kashmir region became an important center of Hinduism and later of Buddhism; later still, in the ninth century, Kashmir Shaivism arose. In 1349, Shah Mir became the first Muslim ruler of Kashmir and inaugurated the Salatin-i-Kashmir or Swati dynasty. For the next five centuries, Muslim monarchs ruled Kashmir, including the Mughals, who ruled from 1526 until 1751, then the Afghan Durrani Empire that ruled from 1747 until 1820. That year, the Sikhs under Ranjit Singh, annexed Kashmir. In 1846, upon the purchase of the region from the British under the Treaty of Amritsar, the Dogras—under Gulab Singh—became the new rulers. Dogra Rule, under the paramountcy (or tutelage) of the British Crown, lasted until 1947, when the former princely state became a disputed territory, now administered by three countries: India, Pakistan, and the People's Republic of China.

The Delhi International Arts Festival, one of India’s most prestigious cultural festivals, began in New Delhi today. The Union Ministry of Culture and Indian Council for Cultural Relations are the principal collaborators of the festival .
The inaugural function saw an array of performances by dancers from Turkey, Kazakastan and Malaysia as well as an opening rendition of vedic chants of ‘Veda-Shakha Swadhyaya’ .
This Iconic festival of the arts which spans two weeks in multiple venues will present dance, music, theatre-both national and international from the most traditional forms to cutting edge contemporary, poetry, literature, exhibitions, handloom and handicrafts, film festivals, a North East carnival, Sufi and Qawwali.
The Festival will see performances by artistic groups from over 14 countries alongside over 2000 Indian artistes.
Among those present at the function included Dr Murali Manohar Joshi, Member of Parliament; Smt Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Union Minister of Women & Child Development; Mr. K. K Mittal, Additional Secretary, Union M/o Culture and Mr. Satish C Mehta, DG, ICCR.
The festival is being held from 28th October to 11th November, 2014.

Gojari dance of Kashmir being performed at 8th Delhi International Arts Festival.
The Delhi International Arts Festival, one of India’s most prestigious cultural festivals, began in New Delhi today. The Union Ministry of Culture and Indian Council for Cultural Relations are the principal collaborators of the festival .
The inaugural function saw an array of performances by dancers from Turkey, Kazakastan and Malaysia as well as an opening rendition of vedic chants of ‘Veda-Shakha Swadhyaya’ .
This Iconic festival of the arts which spans two weeks in multiple venues will present dance, music, theatre-both national and international from the most traditional forms to cutting edge contemporary, poetry, literature, exhibitions, handloom and handicrafts, film festivals, a North East carnival, Sufi and Qawwali.
The Festival will see performances by artistic groups from over 14 countries alongside over 2000 Indian artistes.
Among those present at the function included Dr Murali Manohar Joshi, Member of Parliament; Smt Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Union Minister of Women & Child Development; Mr. K. K Mittal, Additional Secretary, Union M/o Culture and Mr. Satish C Mehta, DG, ICCR.
The festival is being held from 28th October to 11th November, 2014.

Muzaffarabad the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), lies 80 km north-east of Pakistani capital Islamabad in foothills of the southern Karakorum Range and just 22 km east of the control line separating it from the Kashmir valley. The Neelam river, a tributary of the Kashmir valley's Jhelum river, meanders through Muzaffarabad until it reaches its confluence in the city's heartland at Domel. Before heading out of the town, the merged river forms a spectacular U-bend around Chattar area. Two further tributaries join the river before it flows into a 97.7 sq. miles reservoir for the Mangla Dam in Mirpur district.
Although its majestic mountainous scenery leaves you breathless, Muzaffarabad's mountains are dwarfed by Karakorum's famous giants like the K(Karakorum)2 (8611m), Broad Peak (8,047 m) and Rakaposhi (7,788 m). These are found in northern fringes of the region making up the greatest concentration of high mountains in the world with longest and the largest glaciers outside the polar regions.
The town is located at an altitude of approximately 700m and most of its surrounding hills and mountains range in height from 1000 to 1600 m. However, Pir Chinasi (3110 m) reaches height that lies well above this range. Other notable mountains and peaks in its vicinity include Pir Hasimar (2632 m approx.), Pir Chela (2860 m approx.) and Makra peak (3,586 m).
In 2005 the city was struck by a catastrophic earthquake with widespread destruction and enormous loss of life. The epicentre was just 19km to the northeast. Muzaffarabad lies on a geologically active fault line associated with slow-motion collision between Indian and the Eurasian tectonic plates, going back to 40 million years.

A very scary & hungry travel time which took me over 40 hours to reach due to snow fall and other local authorities rules and regulation, yet it was very fun and interesting.
I took the bus for Jammu at 9:30 PM on 18th evening and the all the bus heading to Srinagar kashmir were stopped at end of Jammu city after half an hour of running by Kashmir police for safety and security purpose all night in the highway. A very long journey but a very beautiful journey. The beautiful scenery, first time snow falling memory, night walk in unknown kashmir, getting lost in snow.. all were my favorite times.

Kashmir Travel Video Diary & Guides - Part 2 is about my journey to Gulmarg, Kashmir via Srinagar from Jammu by road. My destination was Indian institute of skiing and mountaineering (IISM). A very scary & hungry travel time which took me over 40 hours to reach due to snow fall and other local authorities rules and regulation, yet it was very fun and interesting.
I took the bus for Jammu at 9:30 PM on 18th evening and the all the bus heading to Srinagar kashmir were stopped at end of Jammu city after half an hour of running by Kashmir police for safety and security purpose all night in the highway. This place has got it's name, because of the number of road accidents that have taken place on this spot. A woman in black saree with an infant in her hand has been spotted by many people on this road. She has become a cause of many accidents. She asks for lift from vehicles passing by this road and people who get cursed die...
2) The Haunted Mosque
Evil in the house of God, Weird but true, a mosque in one of the villages had remained unattended for quite a long time. It is haunted by several evil spirits. People entering the mosque have been found dead and many have got diseases after entering this place.
3) Bijbehara Massacre
Another massacre in this state, which has left the place haunted by dead. Several Kashmiri protesters shouting anti-India slogans were massacred. Spirits of those dead can be seen on several occasions during night.
4) Guide
Location-Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) Air base. Many people have claimed to have seen a person who helps them and then suddenly disappears. Different people have different versions, but one thing is common, the spirit is always helpful. If you happen to meet this spirit then definitely thank him.

On The way to Gurez from Srinagar, you can find a haunted tree. The tree itself looks creepy with no leaves and weird atmosphere surrounding this tree. It is believed that whoever touches this tree on Amavasya, gets possessed by an evil spirit. Beware!!!

This is a twin village in Kupwara District. People have claimed that a mass gang rape took place several years back and the entire place still lives with that haunted experience. Victimized women, who died after this incident haunt this village.

According to sources, Once a man(Zoeb) found his wife not so interested and distracted from her life. He took her for medical treatment but all his efforts were in vain. Then, he brought his wife for treatment before a Fakir and explained to him that his wife hated him very much and felt relaxed at home, during his absence. After asking few questions, it appeared from her symptoms that she suffered from Sihr of separation. After reciting the Ruqya, a Jinn spoke through that lady and said it was in love with her and was responsible for the lady's behavior.
