Got the achievement, the only tips I'd give are
1) don't take anything you don't need, it won't make you richer or stronger, and it'll make fighting rebels a pain in the ass
2) westernize BEFORE you blob or it goes super slow
3) protectorate china after westernizing
4) be careful about taiwan, it's a colony that you need, so either colonise it yourself early, or steal it from whoever colonises it

In 1220, barbarian leader Genghis Khan leads the most ruthless military force in history, known as the Golden Horde, on a rampage through Persia to the ancient nation of Samarkand. Khan, ignoring a prophesy decreeing that anyone who tries to destroy Samarkand will himself be destroyed, sends both his son Juchi and his ally, Tugluk, the Kalmuk king, to burn and pillage the city. Simultaneously, a group of English Crusaders, led by the fearless Sir Guy, arrive to warn Khan that their Christian god will triumph over his evil ways. On their way to the city, they meet Samarkand military captain Herat, who presents them to the city's ruler, Princess Shalimar, and gives them the unhappy news that the Horde has defeated their army. Although Shalimar, who is scheming to embroil Juchi and Tugluk in a romantic rivalry that will destroy them both, banishes Guy to the hills with the rest of the palace inhabitants, Guy believes she is weak and silly and insists on staying to protect her. Soon the Horde leaders arrive and Shalimar has her astrologer fabricate a prophesy that a conquerer who comes from the East will marry the princess and rule the world. This, together with Shalimar's beauty, enthralls the combatant leaders, who are kept from killing each other only by Khan's shaman, Raven. Before Shalimar can continue with her plan, however, Guy's men attack, and Shalimar is forced to flee to her ancestors' tombs beneath the palace. Guy finds her there, and she offers to show his men the secret underground catacombs that lead into the hills if he goes there and protects her people. She is annoyed when he arrogantly kisses her, but he soon becomes indispensable to her after Raven decrees that the battle between Juchi and Tugluk will be decided by Khan himself, and sends a messenger to the leader asking for his decision. Guy's men, who are expert archers, kill the messenger on his route, and as a result, Shalimar gains a few days in which to beguile Juchi and Tugluk further. Meanwhile, Khan grows tired of waiting for word from his men and sends his own message stating he is bringing the rest of the army to Samarkand himself. Although Guy's men try to kill this messenger, he reaches Raven, who realizes that Guy's men are in the hills. Shalimar's handmaiden, Lailee, overhears Raven lie to Juchi and Tugluk that Khan wants Samarkand burnt to the ground and Shalimar murdered, and the princess escapes into the hills. There, Guy haughtily convinces her that his military plan is superior to hers, and a romance blooms between them. Desperate to save her people, however, Shalimar sneaks back into the palace that night to continue her scheme. She tells Tugluk that Raven has tricked him, and he raises his army to take over the palace, killing Juchi and wounding Raven in the process. As he feasts in celebration of his victory, Shalimar poisons his wine, but before he can drink it, Guy arrives to save her. The Kalmuks fight Guy's men, but the Crusaders fend them off, and in a final sword fight, Guy kills Tugluk. Soon after, Khan arrives, and Guy drags the dying Raven to the city's gate to warn Khan that the city is, indeed, cursed. Khan stabs Raven but realizes that a power even greater than his is at work and withdraws his army. Guy embraces Shalimar and vows to help rebuild her city.

Now made public for all to see! Originally this was just a trial run for GH in the new patch and to showcase a few tricks.
One of the areas of strategy in the game that is unsung on the forums and rarely discussed, you can have big differences in outcomes with your unit control. This video walks through a day 0 declaration on an opponent with more troops and a better general, and later how to deal with Kalmar union and Muscovy combined, taking 100% in both cases with enough manpower left for later.
Unit control can make or break your openings. Practice accordingly.

Top Documentary Films: The Barbarian Mongols
The Mongols have always been nomads, though they have always cultivated plants. They moved every season with their camps and livestock, from one pasture to another.
In the 13th century, the Mongols together with the Turks captured Eastern and Central Anatolia. The Mongols were brilliant governors so there was a period of peace in the region. Anatolia famous as Asia Minor was described as one of the few places on Earth, with people who have decent clothes and meals. Ibn Battutah, the great Arab traveler lived in the region when the Turks defeated the Byzantine Empire. Anatolia became a center of trading in metal, leather, silk, wool, corn, fur, timber and slaves.
Ibm Battutah lived in the court of Turkish princes and he was their religious teacher. One of the Turkish rulers, Sutlan Orkhan asked Ibn Battuta to put down traditions of the Prophet. From Anatolia Battuta crossed the Black Sea and made his way to Kaffa, where there lived Christian merchants from Genoa. In the middle of the night he heard church bells ringing. It was a devilish form of sacrilege, for the Muslim Ibn Battita. From the mosque, he started chanting the Qur'an and called for prayer. Locals stopped him, because he could provoke religious tension.
Ibn Battuta went to the capital of the Mongols known as the Golden Horde. He took possession of three wagons and joined a caravan to Kipchak. When he met Ozbeg Khan, the Mongol ruler of Kipchak, he was seated in a huge golden yurt on a silver throne surrounded by his four wives. Ibn was surprised that men and women in Mongolia enjoyed similar respect. The wives had lands and sometimes were asked for important administrative issues. When the most popular khatun entered the tent, the khan went to her, welcomed her, escorted her to her place and did not sit until she was seated. The khatuns did not wear veils. One of them was the daughter of the Byzantine Emperor. Her marriage was arranged in order to improve the relationships between the Christians and the Mongols. This princess got the permition to return to Constantinople and give birth to her heir in her home palace. Ibn Battuta asked and received permission to go with her.
When she entered her country, the princess changed her behaviour. She didn't pray, she drank wine and ate pork. Eventually she stayed with her father. Ibn Battuta went sightseeing. He didn't enter the church Hagia Sophia, because visitors must prostrate before the cross. With winter he returned to the steppe. His clothes were so many that he had to be helped when he mounted a horse.
Ibn Battutah's book sheds light on many aspects of the social, cultural and political history of the Muslim world. The claim of Ibn Battutah to be "the traveler of Islam" is well selected: he met at least 60 rulers and a much greater number of viziers, governors. In his book he mentions more than 2000 people. He left to posterity a true picture of himself and his times.

2) westernize BEFORE you blob or it goes super slow
3) protectorate china after westernizing
4) be careful about taiwan, it's a colony that you need, so either colonise it yourself early, or steal it from whoever colonises it first, otherwise you are stuck trying to get +10 warscore vs a western power.
5) loot, always loot, put 1 troop on each distant province and then just stay that way, earning tons of cash early on.

History:
If you don't know about history of the Golden Horde, than let me introduce to you. The Golden Horde was a Mongol khanate established in the 13th century and originating as the northwestern sector of the Mongol Empire. With the fragmentation of the Mongol Empire after 1259 it became a functionally separate khanate. Sometimes It is also known as the Kipchak Khanate. The khanate experienced violent internal political disorder beginning in 1359. However, soon after the 1396 invasion of Timur, the founder of the Timurid Empire, the Golden Horde broke into smaller Tatar khanates which declined steadily in power. At the start of the 15th century the Horde began to fall apart.
By 1466 it was being referred to simply as the "Great Horde".
