Ending the Suffering of Billions: Overcoming Speciesism | Jay Quigley | TEDxFSU
A massive form of discrimination is everywhere we turn: billions of individuals get confined, mutilated, and slaughtered while most of society remains ignorant. Jay Quigley offers hope and practical ideas for how we can "level up" our compassion, sparing more than our share of farmed animals from lives of suffering.
Jay Quigley recently completed his PhD in philosophy at Florida State University.

Speciesism: The Original Discrimination | ft. Gary Yourofsky
Speciesism is the assumption of human superiority leading to the exploitation of animals. It is the false belief that non-human animals do not have nor deserve the same rights as we humans. It is the oldest form of discrimination on this planet, and it is as strong as ever. In this interview, vegan activist Gary Yourofsky shares his thoughts on speciesism and we both implore everyone to take of

As I mentioned in my critique of Freelee's "non-vegans don't deserve to live on this planet" video (found here: https://youtu.be/T2ytgRMOkH8), I am a vegan who supports speciesism. Unfortunately, I didn't do a great job explaining my position. Hopefully this video will rectify that. :)

Gary Yourofsky: Speciesism is the Root of all Hatred
In this 2.5 minute interview I explain how racism, sexism, etc. will NEVER be destroyed until we eradicate the first form of hatred: SPECIESISM. If we learn to respect and love cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and fish - and not view them as inanimate commodities - we will respect and love different sizes, shapes and colors of humans.

Voiceless Rethinking: Speciesism - Dr Brock Bastian
Many of us in Australia are conflicted in our attitude towards animals. We love our dogs and cats, yet continue to eat pigs, cows and chickens in their hundreds of thousands.
Held at the University of Queensland on Thursday 16 October, Voiceless Rethinking: Speciesism was a seminar which investigated the concept of “speciesism” – namely, giving preference to some animals, including humans, based

Is speciesism the root of all oppression? (Hint: NO.)
Is speciesism the root of all oppression and hatred? Are speciesism and racism even comparable? Many vegans defend with unwavering faith that racism, sexism etc can only exist because speceisism was taught to us from a young age. Similarly, they think that the only way to get rid of forms of oppression in the human species, is to first and foremost get rid of speceisism. I disagree, here is why.

Don't Insult
It's very important for us to choose our words carefully, because language shapes what we think. If you use the name of an animal as an insult for a human, you denigrate animals. We don't want people thinking that animals are lesser beings. We want people to respect all animals. We want people to be vegan.

World Day to End Speciesism
Speciesism is a form of discrimination that most are unaware of and it is the discrimination of non human animals based on their species. All animals should be considered equal and treated with the same respect one would give a fellow human.

Unnatural Vegan Doesn't Understand Speciesism
Is speciesism morally relevant? Is the species distinction really what should (or does) guide our moral judgments? I don't think so. I read from Singer's "Animal Liberation" from pages 17-20. You should read this book if you have even the slightest interest in animal protection.

Why I am (still) an Anti-Speciesist Vegan
Unnatural Vegan thinks that anti-speciesism is an invalid concept, and argues for an alternative model of ethics: greed.
She then continues to argue that vegans should not promote anti-speciesism as the basis for veganism, which is folly because limiting our conversion tactics is intellectual disarmament and ignores a moral truth we ought to recognize.

Speciesism. A Debate. This is a video response to youtuber TheStPDaddy who has been talking to me via the comments about speciesism. In this video I answer all the points he raises in defense of speciesism. I think it's good that we can have a rational discussion on this. Some of his points may be challenging to those of you against speciesism, but the beliefs he holds are not anything out of the ordinary. Many of us in Australia are conflicted in our attitude towards animals. We love our dogs and cats, yet continue to eat pigs, cows and chickens in their hundreds of thousands.
Held at the University of Queensland on Thursday 16 October, Voiceless Rethinking: Speciesism was a seminar which investigated the concept of “speciesism” – namely, giving preference to some animals, including humans, based solely on their species.
Watch Dr Brock Bastian from the University of New South Wales speaking about the meat paradox and how we can love some animals but eat others.

DISRUPT SPECIESISM! Direct Action Everywhere! DxE!
"Till Every Animal is Free"
Song By Gabe Smith (MC Fructose) and Laurie Getchell
Original Speech by Sean Williams!
Song "Animals aren't Products" Lyrics
Why do you call them products when they come from life?
These industries of death; we're in debt through strife.
If you're a blind consumer then you pay to hide the knife.
Why do you call them products when they come from life?
It's only for your pleasure if you drink milk or eat cheese
But it's stolen from a baby and it causes disease
consider veganism please please please
Milk is stolen from a baby and it causes disease
You are beautiful without wearing someone else's skin.
It's really really easy to be a vegan!
It starts by making a vegan meal where no one gets hurt.
You eat things from the trees and what grows from the dirt.
(Repeat first verse)
FUCK MCDONALDS! AND FUCK SPECIESISM!

It's very important for us to choose our words carefully, because language shapes what we think. If you use the name of an animal as an insult for a human, you denigrate animals. We don't want people thinking that animals are lesser beings. We want people to respect all animals. We want people to be vegan.

Speciesism is a form of discrimination that most are unaware of and it is the discrimination of non human animals based on their species. All animals should be considered equal and treated with the same respect one would give a fellow human.

Is speciesism morally relevant? Is the species distinction really what should (or does) guide our moral judgments? I don't think so. I read from Singer's "Animal Liberation" from pages 17-20. You should read this book if you have even the slightest interest in animal protection.
