Warrior is a 1979 arcade fighting game. It is considered one of the first fighting games, though predated by Sega's Heavyweight Champ, released in 1976.
Developed by Tim Skelly while working at Cinematronics, it was released under the Vectorbeam company name shortly before Cinematronics closed Vectorbeam down; they had purchased the company in 1978. The game featured two dueling knights rendered in monochrome vector graphics and based on crude motion capture techniques. Due to the limitations of the hardware used, the processor could not render the characters and gaming environment at the same time and backgrounds were printed, with the characters projected on the top.
Originally Skelly planned for a two-player system with each player using two joysticks, one to control the movement of the player and the other controlling the player's weapon. However, financial constraints restricted the cabinet to one stick for each player and a button to switch between character and weapon modes. The sticks were produced in house and installed in cabinets in a way that players found unresponsive and difficult to use.
Tugs, a 1988 British children's television series created by the producers of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, Robert D. Cardona and David Mitton, features two groups of anthropomorphized tugboat fleets: the Star Fleet and the Z-Stacks. They compete against each other in the fictional town of Bigg City Port.
In the North American adaptation, Salty's Lighthouse, the stories were re-purposed for a younger audience. The two groups were no longer rival tug fleets, and the characters underwent various changes. Sunshine, Captain Star, and Little Ditcher were considered female. Sunshine became the sister of fellow switcher Ten Cents. British accents were changed to American accents. Some names were changed, for instance, Big Mac became Big Stack, O.J. became Otis, and Zebedee became Zeebee.
The Star Fleet is a group who aims to work together on getting and fulfilling port contracts. It is led by Captain Star. Its symbol is a red funnel with blue and white stripes around the top. Fleet members also carry a red flag with a white star. Reporting to Captain Star are seven tugs, each of which has a numbered smoke stack. In "Regatta", Grampus the submarine becomes a member of Star Fleet. The Star Fleet tugs are modeled after the San Francisco tugs of the 1920s.
"Warrior" is a song by New Zealand singer Kimbra, featuring Mark Foster of the American indie pop band Foster the People and Canadian electro house DJ A-Trak. The song was written as a part of "Three Artists, One Song", an annual series by shoe company Converse. The song was initially released as a free download in the "Three Artists, One Song" website. The song was later included in international and special editions of Kimbra's debut studio album, Vows. "Warrior" was released as the fourth single from Vows on 4 May 2012.
The music video premiered on the YouTube channel for Converse shoes on 5 April 2012. The video features a group of prisoners being forced to wrestle, and being brutally beaten, with chairs and other objects, for the enjoyment of a man wearing a red sweater. Scenes of Kimbra singing with her arms tied while watching the fight are cut into the video. At the end, the wrestlers turn on the man wearing the red jumper, and Kimbra knocks him out. The video ends with Mark Foster, Kimbra and A-Trak leaving the stadium. All of the wrestlers are wearing Converse shoes.
The legion, in biological classification, is a non-obligatory taxonomic rank within the Linnaean hierarchy.
In zoological taxonomy, the legion is:
Legions may be grouped into superlegions or subdivided into sublegions, and these again into infralegions.
Legions and their super/sub/infra groups have been employed in some classifications of birds and mammals. Full use is made of all of these (along with cohorts and supercohorts) in, for example, McKenna and Bell's classification of mammals.
Wow! (styled WOW!) was an online service run by CompuServe.com in 1996 and early 1997. Started in March 1996, it was originally thought to be an improved version of CompuServe's software, but it was later announced that it would be a user-friendly stand-alone "family" online service and was widely advertised on TV as such. Wow! was the first internet service to be offered with a monthly "unlimited" rate ($17.95) and stood out because of its brightly colored, seemingly hand-drawn pages.
The first release of this program was quite buggy, with many random shutdowns of the service and loss of email messages. The service developed a small, but very loyal fan base. However, this was not enough and the service was shut down on January 31, 1997.
There is a strong group of "WOWIES" who have fought on for years after its demise, to stay connected through chat groups, and a webring. This group believes they were "sold out" by Compuserve because the service was being bought out by AOL, who began offering a $19.95 unlimited service as it was shutting down WOW.
Wow is the third album from the French power pop group Superbus. It reached the sixth place on French album charts. It was released on 16 October 2006.

My voices for TUGS characters are here! Featured is me trying out Ten Cents, Sunshine, Captain Star, Zorran, Zug & Zip (as well as a Windsor Davies-esque fuel manager) using a scene from Bigg Freeze. It think it came out pretty well...! Any thoughts for improvement would be greatly appreciated. This video was supposed to be significant, as it was to be uploaded exactly thirty years after Bigg Freeze aired on 27th June on Children's ITV in the UK. It was also meant to be a quick, simple video to make... looks like I need more practice..! I had this idea about a week ago but due to other commitments I unfortunately wasn't able to reach the desired target. Having to upload it first day of July is disheartening but I hope the sentiment resonates with you all. Just pretend there are 31 days ...
