Plot: This energetic black comedy (or drama with a sense of humour) turns a contemporary eye on something that is taken too much for granted in Indian cities, especially Mumbai - private space. It's about the clash between a stockbroker who is not allowed to sleep at night and a small-time trader who won't let him (as the secretary of the building society they live in). This seemingly trivial, even laughable, problem eventually snowballs into disasters for both of them and their families, while unspooling the attitudes of people around them. A very real but highly entertaining portrait of urban India.

Plot: Mohandas was born in the Gujarati speaking family, had several brothers who jointly owned property in Rajkot. At the age of 13 Mohandas married Kasturba. On attaining maturity he re-located to England, became a Barrister, returned home, and together with Kasturba re-located to South Africa. They returned to India for a few years and this is where they became parents of four sons: Harilal, Manilal, Ramdas and Devdas. Subsequently, the family returned to South Africa, leaving Harilal alone. As Harilal did not do well in his studies he got married to Gulab without his parents' blessings. Mohandas then invited Harilal to South Africa and on his Secretary's request also invited Gulab, who had recently given birth to a daughter, Rami. Harilal wanted to be a Barrister like his father but found his movements restricted as his father wanted him to actively participate against the Satanist and Racist British regime, leading to Harilal being arrested and imprisoned. Harilal's hopes of becoming a Barrister were dashed when Mohandas sent his nephew, Chaganlal, instead, and when Chaganlal proved a failure, sent Sorabjee to England in his place. Harilal then changed his name to Pranlal Mehta in a vain attempt to return to India. A frustrated Gulab, now a mother of 4, did return to India with her children. After actively protesting draconian British Laws, especially the Christian Act that only recognized marriages performed by a Christian Priest, by General Ian Smutts, Mohandas was imprisoned, and upon being released returned to India. He hoped that Harilal would follow in his footsteps, but Harilal re-located to Calcutta, found a job as a Cashier, embezzled and borrowed money to buy imported cloths, in vast contrast to Mohandas' campaign to burn foreign clothing, got himself in trouble and debt, prompting Gulab to return to leave him. Harilal did return to Gujarat after he heard of his son, Shanti's and Gulab's passing. He did get involved in the freedom struggle temporarily, but was lured by some businessmen, who used his and his dad's name to get people to invest, and then disappeared, forcing Mohandas to publicly disown his son, who was then arrested and imprisoned. Unstable, unemployed, unable to keep up with his father's lofty standards, Harilal considered becoming a Christian, but then with Zakaria's help became an Islamic and changed his name to Abdullah, prompting Kasturba to pay him a visit and talk him to becoming a Hindu again. Then when Mohandas announced the beginning of 'Do or Die' campaign in Bombay during 1942, he was placed under house arrest in the Agha Khan Palace with Hindus calling him a traitor and Muslims praying for his death. This is where a distraught, disheveled and bearded Harilal will meet his parents. Will his parents accept him as he is and welcome him back?

Plot: In 1893, Gandhi is thrown off a South African train for being an Indian and traveling in a first class compartment. Gandhi realizes that the laws are biased against Indians and decides to start a non-violent protest campaign for the rights of all Indians in South Africa. After numerous arrests and the unwanted attention of the world, the government finally relents by recognizing rights for Indians, though not for the native blacks of South Africa. After this victory, Gandhi is invited back to India, where he is now considered something of a national hero. He is urged to take up the fight for India's independence from the British Empire. Gandhi agrees, and mounts a non-violent non-cooperation campaign of unprecedented scale, coordinating millions of Indians nationwide. There are some setbacks, such as violence against the protesters and Gandhi's occasional imprisonment. Nevertheless, the campaign generates great attention, and Britain faces intense public pressure. Too weak from World War II to continue enforcing its will in India, Britain finally grants India's independence. Indians celebrate this victory, but their troubles are far from over. Religious tensions between Hindus and Muslims erupt into nation-wide violence. Gandhi declares a hunger strike, saying he will not eat until the fighting stops. The fighting does stop eventually, but the country is divided. It is decided that the northwest area of India, and eastern part of India (current day Bangladesh), both places where Muslims are in the majority, will become a new country called Pakistan (West and East Pakistan respectively). It is hoped that by encouraging the Muslims to live in a separate country, violence will abate. Gandhi is opposed to the idea, and is even willing to allow Muhammad Ali Jinnah to become the first prime minister of India, but the Partition of India is carried out nevertheless. Gandhi spends his last days trying to bring about peace between both nations. He thereby angers many dissidents on both sides, one of whom finally gets close enough to assassinate him.

A WORLD EVENT It took one remarkable man to defeat the British Empire and free a nation of 350 million people. His goal was freedom for India. His strategy was peace. His weapon was his humanity.
Quotes:
Gandhi: I am a Muslim and a Hindu and a Christian and a Jew and so are all of you.
Gandhi: Whenever I despair, I remember that the way of truth and love has always won. There may be tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they may seem invincible, but in the end, they always fail. Think of it: always.
Nehru: Bapuji, the whole country is moving.::Gandhi: Yes. but in what direction?
Gandhi: An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.
Nahari: I'm going to Hell! I killed a child! I smashed his head against a wall.::Gandhi: Why?::Nahari: Because they killed my son! The Muslims killed my son!::[indicates boy's height]::Gandhi: I know a way out of Hell. Find a child, a child whose mother and father have been killed and raise him as your own.::[indicates same height]::Gandhi: Only be sure that he is a Muslim and that you raise him as one.
Gandhi: They may torture my body, break my bones, even kill me, then they will have my dead body. NOT MY OBEDIENCE!
Gandhi: We think it is time that you recognized that you are masters in someone else's home. Despite the best intentions of the best of you, you must, in the nature of things, humiliate us to control us. General Dyer is but an extreme example of the principle... it is time you left.
Kinnoch: With respect, Mr. Gandhi, without British administration, this country would be reduced to chaos.::Gandhi: Mr. Kinnoch, I beg you to accept that there is no people on Earth who would not prefer their own bad government to the good government of an alien power.::Brigadier: My dear sir! India *is* British. We're hardly an alien power! [silence]
Vince Walker: I met him once.::Collins: You mean Gandhi?::Vince Walker: Yeah, in South Africa, a long time ago. I wonder if he'll recognize me.::Collins: What was he like?::Vince Walker: He had a full head of hair then. We were a bit like college students, trying to figure everything out.::Collins: Well, he must have found some of the answers!
Gandhi: You're a temptress.::Margaret Bourke-White: Just an admirer!::Gandhi: Nothing is more dangerous, especially for an old man.

Arabic/Nat
A Saudi mother has had septuplets but refuses to take them home with her until she can find help to cope.
Hasna Mohammed Humair already has seven children and wasn't planning on having anymore.
But a drug she took to help with period pains also happens to aid fertility - the result, septuplets.
This is Abha, a remote town in eastern Saudi Arabia. It's nothing special perhaps except that at this apartment block a Saudi woman is now the mother of septuplets.
Hers are only the third set of septuplets known to have been born alive.
With money short, lodgings cramped and seven other children already at home, Hasna Mohammed Humair has persuaded the hospital to keep her seven newborns until she is ready to cope with them.
Humair, already a mother of seven, has convinced the Abha Maternity Hospital where she gave birth to keep the babies until she is ready to take them home.
"They're still small," she said of the four boys and three girls while taking tea with her husband at home.
"They could get sick. They're better off at the hospital, where doctors can look after them. As soon as I get someone to help me, I'll bring them home," she said.
Humair is hoping to hire two nannies to help raise the newborns, but money is scarce.
Humair and her husband, Abdullah Mohammed Ali, a retired civil defence employee who drives a cab to make ends meet, had rented out two of the four bedrooms in their house to supplement their income.
Now, they have asked the lodgers to leave to make room for their tiny new guests.
Evicting the lodgers has meant less income for a family that lives on Ali's monthly pension of 4-thousand riyals (around 1-thousand U-S dollars).
On the way to the hospital they discussed the problems of employing help for the family.
SOUNDBITE: (Arabic)
"According to what they told me they (the authorities) are going to follow up the situation in Riyadh.. the whole process will take a long time because I have to make the applications for visas, take the applications to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jeddah, wait there until they are issued. Then take them to the Employment office. Then the office will deal with the matter from there."
SUPER CAPTION: Abdullah Mohammed Ali, father of septuplets
Humair wasn't trying to have any more children.
She was prescribed fertility drugs to regulate her menstrual cycle.
First she learned she was pregnant.
Then she was told they were going to be quadruplets.
Finally came the doctor's words in the delivery room: "Humair, you've just delivered septuplets."
Ali is anxious about his family's future.
He named the baby boys after some of Saudi Arabia's most powerful royals - King Fahd, Defense Minister Prince Sultan, Interior Minister Prince Nayef and Riyadh Governor Prince Salman.
The Saudi leaders were touched and made financial contributions to the family.
Inside the hospital nursery Humair exchanges banter with the nurses she has grown to know so well, then goes to see her babies.
Since she is illiterate and cannot read the names on the cots, she tells the babies apart by remembering which cot each baby is kept in.
She knows when they go home with her there will have to devote herself completely to take care of them.

wn.com/Saudi Arabia Abha Woman Gives Birth To Septuplets

Hong Kong Vacation Travel Guide - Travel Hong Kong
Hong Kong, a former British territory, is one of the most densely populated places in China and in the world. You’ll find quiet neighborhoods full of temples and a dazzling skyline loaded with shopping and dining opportunities.
Your Hong Kong tour must include visits to the many religious sites scattered around the city, where incense wafts from shrines and monasteries take over entire hillsides. You’ll have a marvelous time shopping in tax-free Hong Kong, where you’ll be able to find clothing, jewelry, furniture, and everything else under the sun.
Don’t forget about Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, which overlooks the stunning Victoria Harbor. From there, your Hong Kong sightseeing may detour to Central, the city’s main business district, which looks like something out of a sci-fi film. The observation deck atop the International Commerce Centre will show you fantastic views of the city.
Hong Kong isn’t all cityscape, of course; there are many gardens, parks, and other green spaces for you to explore. You’ll also find beaches, national parks, and quiet islands for you to indulge in natural beauty and serenity. This city truly has everything.

United States Travel & Tours | Washington D.C City Tour
Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia and commonly referred to as Washington, "the District", or simply D.C., is the capital of the United States....
Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia and commonly referred to as Washington, "the District", or simply D.C., is the capital of the United States. The signing of the Residence Act on July 16, 1790, approved the creation of a capital district located along the Potomac River on the country's East Coast. The U.S. Constitution provided for a federal district under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Congress and the District is therefore not a part of any U.S. state.
The states of Maryland and Virginia each donated land to form the federal district, which included the pre-existing settlements of Georgetown and Alexandria. Named in honor of George Washington, the City of Washington was founded in 1791 to serve as the new national capital. In 1846, Congress returned the land originally ceded by Virginia; in 1871, it created a single municipal government for the remaining portion of the District.
Washington, D.C., had an estimated population of 658,893 in 2014, the 23rd-most populous city in the United States. Commuters from the surrounding Maryland and Virginia suburbs raise the city's population to more than one million during the workweek. The Washington metropolitan area, of which the District is a part, has a population of 5.8 million, the seventh-largest metropolitan statistical area in the country. The birthplace and spiritual home of Islam, Saudi Arabia is as rich in attractions as it is in stirring symbolism. It is also one of the most difficult places on earth to visit.
For those who do get in, rock-hewn Madain Saleh is Arabia's greatest treasure. Other wonders abound, from the echoes of TE Lawrence along the Hejaz Railway to the mudbrick ruins of Dir'aiyah. Jeddah, gateway to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, has an enchanting old city made of coral, while the Red Sea coast has world-class diving. Elsewhere, this is a land of astonishing natural beauty, particularly the plunging landscapes of the Asir Mountains in the Kingdom's southwest.
Best of all, there are few places left that can be said to represent the last frontier of tourism. Whether you're an expat or a pilgrim, Saudi Arabia is one of them.
Saudi Arabia officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is the largest Arab state in Western Asia by land area (approximately 2,150,000 km2 (830,000 sq mi)), constituting the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula, and the second-largest geographically in the Arab world. It is bordered by Jordan and Iraq to the north, Kuwait to the northeast, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates to the east, Oman to the southeast, and Yemen in the south. It is the only nation with both a Red Sea coast and a Persian Gulf coast, and most of its terrain consists of arid inhospitable desert or barren landforms.
The area of modern-day Saudi Arabia formerly consisted of four distinct regions: Hejaz, Najd, and parts of Eastern Arabia (Al-Ahsa) and Southern Arabia ('Asir).[10] The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded in 1932 by Ibn Saud. He united the four regions into a single state through a series of conquests beginning in 1902 with the capture of Riyadh, the ancestral home of his family, the House of Saud. The country has since been an absolute monarchy governed along Islamic lines. Wahhabi Islam has been called "the predominant feature of Saudi culture".[11][12] Saudi Arabia is sometimes called "the Land of the Two Holy Mosques" in reference to Al-Masjid al-Haram (in Mecca), and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (in Medina), the two holiest places in Islam. The Kingdom has a total population of 28.7 million, of which 20 million are Saudi nationals and 8 million are foreigners.
Saudi Arabia is the world's largest oil producer and largest exporter, and controls the world's second largest hydrocarbon reserves. Backed by its fossil fuels, the kingdom is categorized as a high income economy with a high Human Development Index and is the only Arab country to be part of the G-20 major economies
