Schumacher still unable to move

Reports that Michael Schumacher is walking have been denied. The former F1 champion is still receiving care at home following a skiing accident in December 2013 and his release from hospital the following year.

Michael Schumacher's manager has been forced to deny a sensational magazine claim the Formula 1 star has made a dramatic recovery and is able to walk again.

The German driver suffered a traumatic brain injury after he fell and hit his head on a rock while skiing with his 14-year-old son in December 2013. He was taken to hospital and placed in a medically induced coma.

Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm, who has spoken on behalf of the family since the accident, denied the report published in German magazine Bunte, saying it raised "false hopes".

According to the magazine, the former world champion had experienced a "Christmas miracle" and was both walking and able to raise his arms.

"Unfortunately, we are forced ... to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true," Kehm said.

"Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, Michael's privacy is very important for him. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many people involved."

Schumacher emerged from his coma in April 2014, and has been receiving care at his home in Switzerland since September last year.

Earlier this year, Kehm told reporters her client was showing signs of slow improvement "considering the severity of his injury".

  • As usual, rogue tabloids wither falsifying or exagerating statements to induce reaction from a private family. For God's sake let the family be in peace !
