Tracey Bartley believes he should be getting Cudabeen ready for the Magic Millions next month, but he will just have to wait a while for a big pay day with another talented daughter of I Am Invincible.

It is not often that a small trainer like Bartley gets his hands on a good two-year-old and he is already planning the autumn after a debut at Kembla Grange.

"She is as good as I have had [as two-year-old]. She is up with Sniper's Bullet at the same age and she has improved since that win at Kembla," Bartley said.

"I think that it will be a strong race from Kembla and she did few things wrong and was still able to win.

"Whatever happens on Saturday, she will be going for a break because there is nothing for her now because the owner didn't pay up for Magic Millions.

"I think that might helps us in the end because she could be up to measuring up to those better races later in the season."

So with a Wyong trial win and the Kembla success under her belt, Cudabeen comes to Sydney to try and get some money in the bank for the Golden Slipper.

"We went to Kembla for a kill with this race in mind. She has had the experience of race day and that always helps," Bartley said. "She is ready to run a big race and you are going to see a nice filly."

It is talent that went relatively unnoticed at the sales. Cudabeen twice went through the ring and twice has been passed in. The second time was partly on Bartley's recommendation to owner Michael O'Donnell.

"She went to the Magic Millions and was passed-in and then came to me to get ready for the breeze-up sale," Bartley said.

"She showed us something straight when I was getting her ready for the breeze-up and I said to him whatever you do don't sell for anything less than $100,000 and even if you get that think about it before selling her.

"She went through and was passed in and I was happy to see her come back here. We knew she was pretty good but she has surprised."

The only think that has disappointed Bartley about Cudabeen was she isn't paid up for the Magic Millions, which might have led to her name.

"He took her all the way up there and then didn't pay the nomination fee, that hurts now. I watched that Wyong race the other day and I'm sure she would have ran at least second," Bartley said.

"You can't be worried about what might have been. She is definitely a bit better than average and we are going to find out a lot more about her on Saturday."
