The first instalment to my four-part countdown of the TOP 40 SCARIEST ANTI-SMOKING COMMERCIALS ever produced.
WARNING: This countdown contains graphic material that some viewers may find upsetting or disturbing. Viewer discretion is advised.
This countdown was originally removed from YouTube due to a stupid and farce copyright strike. I therefore decided to spit this countdown into four parts, as the copyright strike meant I could not upload anything over 15 minutes in length – and it doesn't expire until June 24, 2015.

The title of this video is self-explanatory. The commercials in this countdown may scare or shock you into either giving up smoking completely, or steer you well away from ever touching a cigarette.
Perhaps you could share this video with somebody you think could benefit from watching - perhaps a smoker who needs to quit, or a non-smoker to reinforce them to never start. You never know, it could save somebody's life.
Smoking affects all of us. If you or someone you know would like help quitting smoking, please talk to your GP or healthcare professional for further advice. Please note that any smoking services or helplines featured in this video may or may not be correct since the original air date of that commercial, or the upload date of this countdown.
If you are a smoker, I hope that by watching this countdown it provides you with the motivation required to quit smoking and live a healthier life. Nobody can deny that giving up smoking can be hard. Sometimes it's harder for some people than others. But with the correct help, advice and support, as well as the motivation and willpower to do so, it can be made possible.

A documentary about smoking in terms of health and why people smoke. It contains interviews with smokers and non smokers.
Just to let you know I'm not 100% against smoking. Do whatever you like, it's your life and I'm not trying to persuade anyone. Just trying to tell people how bad it can be and what are the effects of it. I've tried smoking a couple of times just before making this documentary to see what's it really like, and to know what it feels like. My lips were dry; I didn't smell fresh; I started to cough and noticed big difference in my conditioning. I know that if I smoked I would probably die really quick as my body can't handle it. I know guys who are over 80 years of age and still live but that's not the point. We want to maximise our health, not just get through another day. Same goes for other drugs and processed foods.

After seeing FlankerTanker talking about these non-tobacco smoking products I just had to try them. What I found most interesting as I researched them is that this is the product that actors smoke when they are filming TV shows like Mad Men.

For generations, the Tobacco industry has tried to convince millions of people that smoking is cool, sexy and completely harmless. And they have done a good job -for every day, we smoke billions of cigarettes -- year in and year out. In fact it is one of the most successful advertising campaigns in history and one in which seduction, suppression and the distortion of facts have been a crucial element. Because for more than 50 years, it has been a well-known fact that smoking causes cancer, and despite the fall in tobacco consumption in developed countries, the global consumption of tobacco continues to rise.
Smoking is still one of the most frequent causes of death in the world, and the number of people who die due to smoking is now over four million a year. The epidemic, as World health Organisation calls it, will apparently never end.
The documentary is part of the international awarded series "Late Lessons from Early Warnings" which explores how we have been able to respond to warnings about the hazards posed by some of the greatest technological innovations of the last century.
We have not always been that successful.

Tobacco is an agricultural product processed from the leaves of plants in the genus Nicotiana. It can be consumed, used as a pesticide and, in the form of nicotine tartrate, used in some medicines. It is most commonly used as a drug, and is a valuable cash crop for countries such as Cuba, China and the United States. Tobacco is a name for any plant of the genus Nicotiana of the Solanaceae family (nightshade family) and for the product manufactured from the leaf and used in cigars and cigarettes, snuff, and pipe and chewing tobacco. Tobacco plants are also used in plant bioengineering, and some of the 60 species are grown as ornamentals. The chief commercial species, N. tabacum, is believed native to tropical America, like most nicotiana plants, but has been so long cultivated that it is no longer known in the wild. N. rustica, a mild-flavored, fast-burning species, was the tobacco originally raised in Virginia, but it is now grown chiefly in Turkey, India, and Russia. The alkaloid nicotine is the most characteristic constituent of tobacco and is responsible for its addictive nature. The harmful effects of tobacco derive from the thousands of different compounds generated in the smoke, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (such as benzpyrene), formaldehyde, cadmium, nickel, arsenic, radioactive polonium-210, tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs), phenols, and many others.

Just to let you know I'm not 100% against smoking. Do whatever you like, it's your life and I'm not trying to persuade anyone. Just trying to tell people how bad it can be and what are the effects of it. I've tried smoking a couple of times just before making this documentary to see what's it really like, and to know what it feels like. My lips were dry; I didn't smell fresh; I started to cough and noticed big difference in my conditioning. I know that if I smoked I would probably die really quick as my body can't handle it. I know guys who are over 80 years of age and still live but that's not the point. We want to maximise our health, not just get through another day. Same goes for other drugs and processed foods.
Take control of your health now. Hope you enjoy this video. Feel free to leave comments about what you have experienced, leave any questions, rate and share this video.

For generations, the Tobacco industry has tried to convince millions of people that smoking is cool, sexy and completely harmless. And they have done a good job -for every day, we smoke billions of cigarettes -- year in and year out. In fact it is one of the most successful advertising campaigns in history and one in which seduction, suppression and the distortion of facts have been a crucial element. Because for more than 50 years, it has been a well-known fact that smoking causes cancer, and despite the fall in tobacco consumption in developed countries, the global consumption of tobacco continues to rise.
Smoking is still one of the most frequent causes of death in the world, and the number of people who die due to smoking is now over four million a year. The epidemic, as World health Organisation calls it, will apparently never end.
The documentary is part of the international awarded series "Late Lessons from Early Warnings" which explores how we have been able to respond to warnings about the hazards posed by some of the greatest technological innovations of the last century.
We have not always been that successful.

Same tobacco (Tumblin Dice) Different Pipe - Different Taste
Smoking Dan Tobacco's Tumblin Dice in a different pipe ....and the taste is different form my usual UniqueBriars taste. No filters in either...both quite wide bowls. Less fruity, more creamy not as harsh....but loses some of it's complexity. Unsure why?????? Sorry the music is a bit loud...it was just audible when I was recording the vid.

Tobacco may have been responsible for the death of 1 in 10 adults worldwide. But in the new world of plant biotechnology, tobacco could provide answers to our increasing global health problems. Just over 25 years ago, a tobacco plant was genetically modified into a mini-factory for producing monoclonal antibodies. Now, plant-derived monoclonal antibodies against infections, cancer and arthritis are being developed to try to bring affordable modern medicines to the poor in under-developed regions of the world. Prevention of HIV and rabies are our research focus, but tobacco-made antibodies were also used in 2014 to save people infected with Ebola virus. Tobacco, a mass killer? Think again.
Julian Ma holds the Hotung Chair of Molecular Immunology and is Director of the Institute for Infection and Immunity at St. George’s, University of London.
He graduated in dentistry in 1983, and went on to gain his PhD in Immunology, studying topical anti-microbial immunotherapy using monoclonal antibodies. He worked at The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, in the laboratory which pioneered the expression of recombinant antibodies in transgenic plants. On his return to the UK, his group developed the first monoclonal secretory antibody expressed in plants and its clinical application to prevent tooth decay.
He moved to St. George’s Hospital Medical School in 2003 to explore the wider applications of plant biotechnology for global infectious diseases. His research group now studies basic mechanisms of protein production in plant cells, as well as the design, engineering and clinical applications of novel recombinant proteins in plants for vaccination and immunotherapy.

Tobacco is a product prepared from the fallen leaves of the tobacco plant by treating them. The plant is classified within the category Nicotiana of the Solanaceae (nightshade) household. While greater than 70 types of tobacco are recognized, the chief commercial crop is N. tabacum. The even more potent varieties N. rustica is likewise widely utilized worldwide.
Tobacco includes the alkaloid nicotine, an energizer. Dried out tobacco fallen leaves are mostly smoked in cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, as well as flavored shisha tobacco. They are also consumed as snuff, eating tobacco, and dipping tobacco.
Tobacco usage is a threat factor for many diseases, specifically those influencing the heart, liver, and lungs, and also a number of cancers. In 2008, the World Health Organization called tobacco as the world's solitary greatest reason for avoidable fatality
