AirAsia flight experience, with a team of awesome cabin crew, onboard a very short (just 33 minutes) but nevertheless, amazing flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur!
I almost missed this flight, owing to my misjudgement of time whilst being too engrossed in duty-free shopping (I was buying cake at Bengawan Solo for friends - highly recommended, by the way!). After rushing across the airport (all the way from Terminal 2 to 1), I reached the boarding gate out of breath but was nicely reassured by the smiling cabin crew that I did make it for the flight. Phew...
Onboard, the cabin crew displayed a very positive attitude from the start and throughout; cheerfully interacting with passengers and delivering a personalised service despite the short flight time. It is great that AirAsia provides passengers with the option of purchasing their favourite snacks and beverages at affordable prices.
The AirAsia onboard experience is very enjoyable. By landing, I was feeling very relaxed and calm, having recovered from the awful situation I had tangled myself in earlier at the airport.
Thank you very much to AirAsia and the team of amazing cabin crew for making this short flight experience a wonderful one despite my rough start. #togetherwestand

The boarding process was done very efficiently although the passengers boarded through staircase.
The cabin ambience was excellent with clean restroom and well stocked amenities. The legroom was pretty fine as it is a low cost standard and the flying time was less than 3 hours.
The cabin crew really looked after the passengers with care. A truly Malaysian Hospitality. The in flight meal was indeed delicious where i opted for Uncle Chin's Famous Chicken Rice.
We landed on time in KLIA 2 and it was one of the smoothest landing i have experienced ever! Great Job, Air Asia. You deserve to be the World's best low cost airline!

Indonesia AirAsia Flight 8501 (QZ8501/AWQ8501) was a scheduled international passenger flight, operated by AirAsia Group affiliate Indonesia AirAsia, from Surabaya, Indonesia, to Singapore. On 28 December 2014, the aircraft operating the route, an Airbus A320-216, crashed into the Java Sea during bad weather, killing all 155 passengers and seven crew on board.[3] Two days after the crash, debris from the aircraft and human remains were found floating in the Java Sea. Searchers located wreckage on the sea floor beginning on 3 January, and the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder were recovered by 13 January. The search for bodies ended in March 2015 after recovery of 113 of the 162 bodies.
On 20 January 2015, it was reported that the aircraft had stalled during an abnormally steep climb and had been unable to recover.
The accident was the second-deadliest in Indonesian territory, behind Garuda Indonesia Flight 152 in 1997, the third-deadliest aviation incident in 2014, behind Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, and the second-deadliest involving an A320, behind TAM Airlines Flight 3054 in 2007.[ It was also AirAsia Group's first fatal accident in the 18-year history of the company. AirAsia Berhad (MYX: 5099) is a Malaysian-based low-cost airline. AirAsia is Asia's largest low-fare, no-frills airline and a pioneer of low-cost travel in Asia. AirAsia group operates scheduled domestic and international flights to over 400 destinations spanning 25 countries. Its main hub is the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Its affiliate airlines Thai AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia and AirAsia Philippines have hubs in Suvarnabhumi Airport, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Clark International Airport respectively. AirAsia's registered office is in Petaling Jaya, Selangor while its head office is at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Air Asia plans to open ASEAN regional headquarters in Jakarta by August or September 2011. The airline itself will maintain its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur for the time being.
AirAsia was established in 1993 and began operations on 18 November 1996. It was originally founded by a government-owned conglomerate, DRB-Hicom. On 2 December 2001 the heavily-indebted airline was bought by former Time Warner executive Tony Fernandes's company Tune Air Sdn Bhd for the token sum of one ringgit (about USD 0.26 at the time) with USD 11 million (MYR 40 million) worth of debts. Fernandes turned the company around, producing a profit in 2002 and launching new routes from its hub in Kuala Lumpur, undercutting former monopoly operator Malaysia Airlines with promotional fares as low as MYR 1 (USD 0.27).

AirAsia flight experience, with a team of awesome cabin crew, onboard a very short (just 33 minutes) but nevertheless, amazing flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur!
I almost missed this flight, owing to my misjudgement of time whilst being too engrossed in duty-free shopping (I was buying cake at Bengawan Solo for friends - highly recommended, by the way!). After rushing across the airport (all the way from Terminal 2 to 1), I reached the boarding gate out of breath but was nicely reassured by the smiling cabin crew that I did make it for the flight. Phew...
Onboard, the cabin crew displayed a very positive attitude from the start and throughout; cheerfully interacting with passengers and delivering a personalised service despite the short flight time. It is great that AirAsia provides passengers with the option of purchasing their favourite snacks and beverages at affordable prices.
The AirAsia onboard experience is very enjoyable. By landing, I was feeling very relaxed and calm, having recovered from the awful situation I had tangled myself in earlier at the airport.
Thank you very much to AirAsia and the team of amazing cabin crew for making this short flight experience a wonderful one despite my rough start. #togetherwestand

The boarding process was done very efficiently although the passengers boarded through staircase.
The cabin ambience was excellent with clean restroom and well stocked amenities. The legroom was pretty fine as it is a low cost standard and the flying time was less than 3 hours.
The cabin crew really looked after the passengers with care. A truly Malaysian Hospitality. The in flight meal was indeed delicious where i opted for Uncle Chin's Famous Chicken Rice.
We landed on time in KLIA 2 and it was one of the smoothest landing i have experienced ever! Great Job, Air Asia. You deserve to be the World's best low cost airline!

On 20 January 2015, it was reported that the aircraft had stalled during an abnormally steep climb and had been unable to recover.
The accident was the second-deadliest in Indonesian territory, behind Garuda Indonesia Flight 152 in 1997, the third-deadliest aviation incident in 2014, behind Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, and the second-deadliest involving an A320, behind TAM Airlines Flight 3054 in 2007.[ It was also AirAsia Group's first fatal accident in the 18-year history of the company. Penerbangan QZ8501 yang jatuh pada akhir Desember 2014 lalu menewaskan 162 penumpang dan kru.
Laporan itu merupakan hasil investigasi yang berlangsung sekitar satu tahun.
Penyelidik menekankan kesalahan pada kerusakan sistem kontrol kemudi.
Pilot kemudian merespon peringatan yang berlangsung selama empat kali dengan memasang lagi sistem yang menyebabkan sistem autopilot mati dan mereka kehilangan kontrol atas pesawat.
Pesawat AirAsia hilang kontak dengan Menara Pengatur Lalu Lintas Udara ATC di Jakarta, dalam perjalanan ke Singapura dari Bandara Juanda Surabaya, pada Minggu (28/12) pagi.
Pesawat mengangkut 162 penumpang dan kru, sebagian besar warga negara Indonesia, satu WN Inggris, Malaysia dan Singapura, serta tiga orang Korea Selatan, serta satu kru orang Prancis.
Setelah pencarian selama beberapa bulan, berhasil mengangkat dan mengidentifikasi korban. KNKT menyebutkan faktor cuaca buruk yang banyak disebut-disebut sebelumnya.

The airline’s maintenance system was “not optimal”, investigators said, adding that the airline had carried out 51 safety measures to improve conditions since the crash.
The revelation was made in a press conference this morning where it was revealed the crash is thought to have happened partly due to how pilots responded to a malfunction.
Investigator Nurcahyo Utomo said the plane’s voice recorder indicated possible confusion between the pilot and co-pilot.
He said at one point the pilot said “pull down,” but in fact the plane was ascending.
“It seemed that there was a miscommunication between the pilot and co-pilot after the fourth fault,” he said.
Bad weather conditions did not play a role, as initially believed, the investigators said.
In Europe, Airbus declined immediate comment.
“Airbus has just received the final accident report. We are now carefully studying its content,” a spokesman said by email.
AirAsia Indonesia said on Tuesday the firm has upgraded pilot training and enhanced safety standards following the crash of its plane last year, killing all 162 onboard.
Earlier on Tuesday, Indonesia’s National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) released the first public report on the disaster of the Airbus A320 that crashed into the Java Sea on Dec. 28.
“KNKT’s final report on QZ8501 highlights that a combination of several factors contributed to the tragedy,” AirAsia Indonesia said in a statement.
“There are many lessons to be learned for the entire aviation industry.”
Posting to Twitter, Tony Fernandes, boss of AirAsia, said there was much the airline will learn from the investigation.
He said: “Would like to thank the KNKT for the very thorough investigations. My thoughts are to the families and my crew who still remain our number 1 priority.
“These are scars that are left on me forever but I remain committed to make Airasia the very best. We owe it to the families and my crew.
“There is much to be learned here for Airasia, the manufacturer and the aviation industry.
“We will not leave any stone unturned to make sure the industry learns from this tragic incident.”
