You will probably recognize this even if you’re not into classical music: Published in 1725, Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” is one of the most popular classical works of all time. It’s structured along four violin concerti, each of which is a musical expression of a season of the year. One of the best examples of this is the storm, which is played in the second movement of the Summer concert: The music in this section perfectly plays up to the music’s stormy drama, as dark clouds start gathering above, and thunder, lightning and hailstones fall from the roaring heavens. It’s a rousing display of the force of nature, brought to you by a chamber orchestra.
