Debashish Banerji, PhD, is Dean of Academic Affairs at the University of Philosophical Research in Los Angeles as well as an adjunct faculty member at Pasadena City College and the California Institute of Integral Studies. He is also the former director of the East West Cultural Center in Los Angeles. He is author of Seven Quartets of Becoming: A Transformative Yoga Psychology Based on the Diaries of Sri Aurobindo and also The Alternative Nation of Abanindranath Tagore, a book about his great grandfather. He edited an anthology about his great uncle, Rabindranath Tagore in the Twenty-First Century.
Here he describes Aurobindo’s unique role as a spiritual figure during the chaotic years of the early twentieth century. Born to an upper-class Indian family, he studied in England and achieved high marks as a scholar. When he returned to India, he became a leader in the anti-colonial movement. At this time he also began practicing yoga and quickly discovered many extraordinary states of consciousness. Eventually he was imprisoned for his political activities and, while in prison, his yoga and meditative practices accelerated. He began to experience himself as having a personal relationship with god (Brahman), mediated by the avatar Krishna. He came to experience everything and everyone as an embodiment of Krishna. As a result, he came to realize that a political revolution would be incomplete without an accompanying spiritual revolution.
New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in "parapsychology" ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). He serves as dean of transformational psychology at the University of Philosophical Research. He teaches parapsychology for ministers in training with the Centers for Spiritual Living through the Holmes Institute. He has served as vice-president of the Association for Humanistic Psychology, and is the recipient of its Pathfinder Award for outstanding contributions to the field of human consciousness. He is also past-president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people are encouraged to cultivate and apply their inner, intuitive abilities.

The voice of the first Indian leader who demanded complete independence from British rule.
Sri Aurobindo had been asked to give a message on this great occasion.
These are his opening words :
"August 15th, 1947 is the birthday of free India. It marks for her the end of an old era, the beginning of a new age. But we can also make it by our life and acts as a free nation an important date in a new age opening for the whole world, for the political,social, cultural and spiritual future of humanity."

This video is a sting operation conducted by CNN-IBN, India. It was supposed to be broadcasted on 15.03.2008 at 9 pm IST under the title “The Divine Trap”. After repeatedly showing trailers for this sting operation, the entire show was taken off the air at the 11th hour due to unknown reasons then. This sting operation is like a peep-hole through which people can know about various serious unspiritual activities going on in the ashram of Sri Aurobindo, Pondicherry.
Anyone who raises his voice against the misdeeds of the trustees of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram is victimized and harassed. Ultimately these victims are either pushed to commit suicide or leave the Ashram or suffer in silence.
In the case of the 5 sisters, the five sisters along with their aged parents attempted suicide by drowning themselves in the Bay of Bengal in the night of 17.12.2014. The ordeal was survived by three sisters and their aged father.

No court has ever denied the status of the 5 sisters as members/inmates of the Ashram. But even today they are unlawfully denied their rights to live in the Ashram by the self-appointed trustees of the Ashram.
The three surviving sisters neither receive help from the Ashram nor from the Govt.
Hemlata and Nivedita continue to fight for their rights and justice.
They need support of every kind to unveil the inhuman acts of the trustees of the Ashram.

Pour qu’il y ait eu au minimum deux cas de suicide individuel avérés, et un cas de suicide collectif, suite à du harcèlement extrême, combien de femmes ont-elles été réellement réduites à l’obligation d’avoir des relations sexuelles avec leurs tortionnaires dans cet endroit que l’on dit divin ?
Qui peut réellement penser que seules les femmes ayant été harcelées sont celles qui se sont suicidées ?
Sri Aurobindo et la Mère doivent se retourner dans leur tombe face à tant d’abjection !
Le mode de désignation des responsables de l’Ashram doit être entièrement revu, et les trois sœurs rescapées du suicide collectif réintégrées dans les plus brefs délais.
La campagne de calomnie à leur encontre doit également cesser. Ce ne sont pas les sœurs qui sont allés chercher les problèmes. Tout à commencé en 2001, lorsque l'une d'elles s'est faite harceler sexuellement, puis a été carrément battue avec une barre de fer par l'un des membres de l'Ashram.
Malgré la gravité, aucune sanction n'a été prise à l'encontre de cet homme.
Pire, l'une des soeurs, la plus forte, à essayé de réagir en allant déposer une plainte à la police.
C'est elle qui a été sanctionnée, car dans le règlement de l'Ashram, il était interdit d'aller à la Police sans l'autorisation des responsables !
Depuis ce jour, cela n'a été qu'une longue suite de problèmes et de harcèlements divers, ayant eu pour conséquence le suicide collectif de toute la famille Prasat le 17 décembre 2014.

Le comportement de certaines personnes de l'ashram a eu pour conséquences des suicides d'ashramites, dont celui collectif de la famille Prasad en décembre 2014. Le père, la mère, et les cinq sœurs, sont allés tous ensemble se jeter dans les eaux du golfe du Bengale.
Grace à l'intervention musclée de pêcheurs, seules la mère et deux des sœurs ont péri. Parmi les trois sœurs, rescapées malgré elles, Hemlata et Nivedita se battent à présent pour faire éclater la vérité.

Sri Aurobindo (1872-1950) practiced and taught a form of yoga which he called Integral Yoga. He described the philosophical and psychological bases of this yoga in his written works.
Though these works contain some references to Indian yoga traditions, they steer clear of sectarianism and attempt to develop a trans-personal psychology of human becoming, leading to what he called a "divine" life. Yet, at the same time that he was formulating his teachings in these works, he also maintained a diary of his yoga sadhana
that was couched in terms of esoteric Sanskrit terminology derived from traditional lineages of yoga.
This talk will consider Sri Aurobindo's own spiritual practices and experiences
in developing his evolutionary psychology of Integral Yoga. In doing this, it will clarify the lineages and goals of traditional yoga followed and attained by him along with what may be considered his new or special contribution. The presentation will be partly based on
Dr. Debashish Banerji's recently published book "Seven Quartets of Becoming: A Transformative Yoga Psychology based on the Diaries of Sri Aurobindo".
Dr. Debashish Banerji is a Dean of academic affairs at the University of philosophical research in Los Angeles and executive director of the Nalanda international. In addition, he is an adjunct professor of Asian art history at the Pasadena city college and a research fellow of Asian and comparative studies at the California institute of integral studies in San Francisco.
Dr. Banerji completed his Ph.D. in Indian art history from the UCLA. Prior to that he completed a master's degree in computer science from the University of Louisville, Kentucky and an undergraduate degree with honors in English literature from the University of Bombay.

Sri Aurobindo
Aurobindo, known as Sri Aurobindo (Sri Ôrobindo), (15 August 1872 – 5 December 1950), born Aurobindo Ghose, was an Indian nationalist, philosopher, yogi, guru, and poet. He joined the Indian movement for independence from British rule, for a while became one of its influential leaders and then became a spiritual reformer, introducing his visions on human progress and spiritual evolution.
Aurobindo studied for the Indian Civil Service at King's College, Cambridge, England. After returning to India he took up various civil service works under the maharaja of the princely state of Baroda and began to involve himself in politics. He was imprisoned by the British for writing articles against British rule in India. He was released when no evidence was provided. During his stay in the jail he had mystical and spiritual experiences, after which he moved to Pondicherry, leaving politics for spiritual work.
During his stay in Pondicherry, Aurobindo developed a method of spiritual practice he called Integral Yoga. The central theme of his vision was the evolution of human life into a life divine. He believed in a spiritual realisation that not only liberated man but transformed his nature, enabling a divine life on earth. In 1926, with the help of his spiritual collaborator, Mirra Alfassa (referred to as "The Mother"), he founded the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. He died on 5 December 1950 in Pondicherry.

He edited an anthology about his great uncle, Rabindranath Tagore in the Twenty-First Century.
Here he describes Aurobindo’s unique role as a spiritual figure during the chaotic years of the early twentieth century. Born to an upper-class Indian family, he studied in England and achieved high marks as a scholar. When he returned to India, he became a leader in the anti-colonial movement. At this time he also began practicing yoga and quickly discovered many extraordinary states of consciousness. Eventually he was imprisoned for his political activities and, while in prison, his yoga and meditative practices accelerated. He began to experience himself as having a personal relationship with god (Brahman), mediated by the avatar Krishna. He came to experience everything and everyone as an embodiment of Krishna. As a result, he came to realize that a political revolution would be incomplete without an accompanying spiritual revolution.

In the case of the 5 sisters, the five sisters along with their aged parents attempted suicide by drowning themselves in the Bay of Bengal in the night of 17.12.2014. The ordeal was survived by three sisters and their aged father.

No court has ever denied the status of the 5 sisters as members/inmates of the Ashram. But even today they are unlawfully denied their rights to live in the Ashram by the self-appointed trustees of the Ashram.
The three surviving sisters neither receive help from the Ashram nor from the Govt.
Hemlata and Nivedita continue to fight for their rights and justice.
They need support of every kind to unveil the inhuman acts of the trustees of the Ashram.

Pour qu’il y ait eu au minimum deux cas de suicide individuel avérés, et un cas de suicide collectif, suite à du harcèlement extrême, combien de femmes ont-elles été réellement réduites à l’obligation d’avoir des relations sexuelles avec leurs tortionnaires dans cet endroit que l’on dit divin ?
Qui peut réellement penser que seules les femmes ayant été harcelées sont celles qui se sont suicidées ?
Sri Aurobindo et la Mère doivent se retourner dans leur tombe face à tant d’abjection !
Le mode de désignation des responsables de l’Ashram doit être entièrement revu, et les trois sœurs rescapées du suicide collectif réintégrées dans les plus brefs délais.
La campagne de calomnie à leur encontre doit également cesser. Ce ne sont pas les sœurs qui sont allés chercher les problèmes. Tout à commencé en 2001, lorsque l'une d'elles s'est faite harceler sexuellement, puis a été carrément battue avec une barre de fer par l'un des membres de l'Ashram.
Malgré la gravité, aucune sanction n'a été prise à l'encontre de cet homme.
Pire, l'une des soeurs, la plus forte, à essayé de réagir en allant déposer une plainte à la police.
C'est elle qui a été sanctionnée, car dans le règlement de l'Ashram, il était interdit d'aller à la Police sans l'autorisation des responsables !
Depuis ce jour, cela n'a été qu'une longue suite de problèmes et de harcèlements divers, ayant eu pour conséquence le suicide collectif de toute la famille Prasat le 17 décembre 2014.

Grace à l'intervention musclée de pêcheurs, seules la mère et deux des sœurs ont péri. Parmi les trois sœurs, rescapées malgré elles, Hemlata et Nivedita se battent à présent pour faire éclater la vérité.
Elles ont besoin qu'on les soutienne et qu'on les aide.
