WAIT TILL YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THIS FISH. Me and my buddies where fishing and this Monster sturgeon jumps half way into the boat, hits my buddy and falls back into the water. Then the 5 pound sinker comes out of the water and hits the side of the boat. Scared the crap out of us. By far the biggest sturgeon I have ever caught or seen on ANY fishing show for that matter. This fish is as big if not bigger then any sturgeon on YouTube. I just wish we would have thought to drive it to he shore or stretch it out but we were so shook up. You can compare these http://youtu.be/V4hqOyA_lqU with this one and you will see there is no way this is not close to 1000lb. These were all caught the same week on the Columbia River.
You can see the mouth on any of those are half the size of the one above and the fins are twice as large. Oh and by the way, that was my hand in it's mouth there Batman.
The boat is 22' long so the sturgeon in the video in this comment were 8' to 12' while the above fish was bigger than any of those in the other video and not even close.

Sturgeon are huge fish that can live for up to 100 years. During the extreme drought conditions in western states, abnormal numbers of sturgeon have been dying off. Washington state Fish and Wildlife officers hit the Columbia River to educate fisherman about the closure of the sturgeon fishery and document any new dead sturgeon for further study.

While filming Tarpon Feeding with my drone this crazy prehistoric beast almost jumped in our boat. In the process smacked my daughter in the arm with it's tail as she was sitting on the poling platform. I think the thing jumped close to 11' my rods are 7'6" and they were above and beyond that. Never know what you're going to see at the ocean. Thanks again Hatcam.

Sturgeon is the common name used for some 26 species of fish in the family Acipenseridae, including the genera Acipenser, Huso, Scaphirhynchus and Pseudoscaphirhynchus. The term includes over 20 species commonly referred to as sturgeon and several closely related species that have distinct common names, notably sterlet, kaluga and beluga. Collectively, the family is also known as the true sturgeons. Sturgeon is sometimes used more exclusively to refer to the species in the two best-known genera, Acipenser and Huso.
One of the oldest families of bony fish in existence, sturgeon are native to subtropical, temperate and sub-Arctic rivers, lakes and coastlines of Eurasia and North America. They are distinctive for their elongated bodies, lack of scales, and occasional great size: sturgeons ranging from 7–12 feet (2-3½ m) in length are common, and some species grow up to 18 feet (5.5 m). Most sturgeons are anadromous bottom-feeders, spawning upstream and feeding in river deltas and estuaries. While some are entirely freshwater, very few venture into the open ocean beyond near coastal areas.

MONSTER 1000+ LB STURGEON JUMPS INTO BOAT and flops back out! Scary as hell!
WAIT TILL YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THIS FISH. Me and my buddies where fishing and this Monster sturgeon jumps half way into the boat, hits my buddy and falls back into the water. Then the 5 pound sinker comes out of the water and hits the side of the boat. Scared the crap out of us. By far the biggest sturgeon I have ever caught or seen on ANY fishing show for that matter. This fish is as big if not bigger then any sturgeon on YouTube. I just wish we would have thought to drive it to he shore or stretch it out but we were so shook up. You can compare these http://youtu.be/V4hqOyA_lqU with this one and you will see there is no way this is not close to 1000lb. These were all caught the same week on the Columbia River. Giant Sturgeon Nearly Jumps In The Boat Slaps Daughter Caught On GoPro Edisto Sc
While filming Tarpon Feeding with my drone this crazy prehistoric beast almost jumped in our boat. In the process smacked my daughter in the arm with it's tail as she was sitting on the poling platform. I think the thing jumped close to 11' my rods are 7'6" and they were above and beyond that. Great River Fishing: Group of Anglers Catch a White Sturgeon on the Fraser River Fishing
http://greatriverfishing.com - On Friday, September 21, a group of 30 anglers from a Kamloops accounting firm caught a 1000 pound sturgeon. The group was on a team building fishing trip with Great River Fishing Adventures on the Fraser River near Chilliwack. The firm's owner Norman Daley hooked the monster fish which weighed five times more than him. The sturgeon was 11 feet eight inches long and had a massive five foot girth tape measured below the pectoral fins. Although impossible to weigh fish in the river based on its measurements charts indicate that the sturgeon caught would weigh about 1,000+ pounds. -

While filming Tarpon Feeding with my drone this crazy prehistoric beast almost jumped in our boat. In the process smacked my daughter in the arm with it's tail as she was sitting on the poling platform. I think the thing jumped close to 11' my rods are 7'6" and they were above and beyond that. Never know what you're going to see at the ocean. Thanks again Hatcam.

Five-year-old Jaylon Rippy was boating with her family on the Suwannee River in northwest Florida on Thursday evening when she encountered a sturgeon strike, Reuters reported.
The family was transported to a hospital after the strike. Jaylon did not survive her injuries. Her 9-year-old brother and mother were also injured in unknown conditions, according to Reuters.
Sturgeons jump out of water to equalize pressure in their swim bladders and communicate with other sturgeons, according to Reuters.
“With the low water levels in the river system, the sturgeon are jumping much more frequently than in recent years,” Reuters quoted Major Andy Krause, Fish and Wildlife Commission regional commander for the Lake City area as saying.
Two other people were also injured after being struck by a leaping sturgeon on Friday on the Santa Fe River, Reuters reported.
