The Nigerian Police Force have released extraordinary video of the scenes inside the National Assembly earlier this week when Politicians and Police clashed.
Chaos ensued after Nigerian Representatives sought access into the National Assembly but were blocked by the police in riot gear and who then fired tear gas in the government compound.
The video shows Politicians shouting at the Nigerian police and also other politicians inside the chambers, including the Senate President, David Mark.
The police released the video as part of their campaign to justify their actions, and released this statement with the video:
"IS THERE ANY JUSTIFICATION FOR THESE?"
- Why would anyone use a car to shove/push a uniformed Policeman performing his lawful duty? (04:26)
- Why would any group of persons rough-handle a uniformed Policeman performing his lawful duty and also refuse to submit to security screening into a Government building? (04:52)
- Why would any group of persons destroy Government property paid for with tax payers’ money? (08:00)
NOTE: Please listen carefully to all the ungentlemanly utterances in this video.
But members of the main opposition party, the APC, have decried the police actions as undemocratic. Nasir El Rufai described the police as ”....Jonathanian Police We Hail Thee.....".

The Health Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi is making a statement on Tuberculosis, which will be followed by a debate in the National Assembly. The disease has mutated into a drug resistant virus in recent years, to the point where a Global TB Caucus of Parliamentarians has taken on the battle. SA has the third highest number of victims, after China and India. At least one percent of the population contracts the virus each year, and an estimated 60% of those live with both TB and HIV.

The French National Assembly has passed legislation addressing the Body Mass Index for professional models working in country.
The final draft in a line of bills, which was approved Thursday, places France in league with Italy, Spain, and Israel for legislating weight in fashion.
The adopted draft seeks to bar excessively thin fashion models by further professionalizing their practice through a doctor's certificate.
Though a previous draft suggested a minimum BMI for models, the adopted legislation will allow doctors to determine if their patients are healthy enough for work.
According to the bill, employers caught breaking the new law may face prison time up to six months and face a fine of 75,000 Euros.
Another measure, which will take effect in January, requires commercial photographs of models to label digitally altered images as retouched photographs.

It′s no longer news. Korea′s rival political parties remain at loggerheads over pending bills.
The extra session for this month opened over a week ago... and the presidential office has been upping the pressure on the law-making body. But, with no fruitful outcome... just the opposition bloc′s accusation of the top office infringing upon the assembly′s intrinsic right to legislate.
Arirang′s parliamentary correspondent Ji Myung-kil joins me from the National Assembly.
Myung-kil, how is the ruling party reacting to this dreadful delay in business?
″Conn-young. The ruling Saenuri Party is getting impatient... fearing that they might come-out empty handed again... by failing to pass urgent bills in this month′s extra session. Let′s hear what the floor leader had to say.″
″If we fail to pass bills on reforming Korea′s labor market, promoting the service industry and revitalizing our economy, the livelihoods of the middle class would be at risk. We sincerely urge the opposition to cooperate.″
With no progress on pending bills at the National Assembly, the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae has been demanding lawmakers to do their legislative duties.
Cheong Wa Dae has also tried to influence the Assembly Speaker to use his authority to table certain bills for parliamentary endorsement.
The move has drawn harsh criticism from the main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy.
″Now the president is blaming the National Assembly and even accusing the Assembly Speaker of not doing his job. This violates the principle of separation of powers among the three branches of government and infringes upon the Assembly′s intrinsic right to legislate.″
The NPAD responded to the president′s request by claiming that her economic bills were flawed.
They emphasized that the labor reform bills would make it easier for companies to fire workers and increase the number of irregular workers because employment contracts would be extended from the current two years to four years.
″As the parliamentary deadlock continues, rival party leaders will meet on Sunday to try and reach a compromise on contentious issues including readjusting electoral boundaries and a counterterrorism bill.
Conn-young.″
ANCHOR TAG
That, hopefully, will be the last meeting of that sort and we′ll see the leaders leave that room with an agreement on Sunday. Our Ji Myung-kil from the National Assembly - thank you, Myung-kil.
