Towering limestone cliffs, caves and glacial potholes, including one of the world's largest, are a few of the natural wonders at the Rockwood Conservation Area. You can view them from hiking trails on both sides of the Eramosa River or in a rented canoe. The conservation area has over 65,000 visitors a year from near and far and offers excellent recreational opportunities only a short distance from major metropolitan areas.

Rockwood has a unique geological history that has left it with glacial bluffs, potholes and caves. The glacial bluffs were formed during the most recent ice age, which ended 11,000 to 16,000 years ago and range from five to 30 metres deep and seven to 200 meters wide.
The conservation area has over 200 potholes that vary in size and diameter. They were created by hard debris like pebbles and boulders that were left by the Wisconsin glacier and caught in eddies in rapidly flowing melt water.
The caves are a popular attraction and include stalactites, columns and flowstone. They are fun to explore, however long pants and long sleeves, flashlight and helmet are suggested.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is a conservation area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site located 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania.
Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area, is recognized by one private organization as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.
The conservation area is administered by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, an arm of the Tanzanian government, and its boundaries follow the boundary of the Ngorongoro Division of the Arusha Region.
It has been reported in 2009 that the government authority has proposed a reduction of the population of the conservation area from 65,000 to 25,000.
There are plans being considered for 14 more luxury tourist hotels, so people can access "the unparalleled beauty of one of the world's most unchanged wildlife sanctuaries", however the people who own the land has had few benefits of tourism, also no management job in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area has gone to the local Maasai pastoralists, who were helped by a 2013 international Avaaz campaign from being evicted from pastries bordering Serengeti National Park because a private luxury safari company's interests.

Belfountain Conservation Area is a small 32 acre park run by Credit Valley Conservation and is located not far northwest of the Greater Toronto Area.
The land was originally developed by Charles Mack who bought the land in 1908. The dam / waterfall, cave, bell fountain and stonework are all remnants of the Mack's little paradise.
The park is open from 8am until 9pm during the summer months and is connected by the Trimble Side Trail to the Bruce Trail.

I went to checkout this place for shore fishing opportunities and it's very limited. There's a long shoreline with train tracks but it's illegal to walk along there and also dangerous. You can get fined by the park ranger. I only explored half the lake and I found only 6 spots you can fish from shore. I confirmed that there are bass and pike in here. There's a small lookout dock where I almost caught a bass by twitching the senko underneath the dock. The family that was fishing there caught a lot of bluegills and cat fish.
I do not recommend fishing here but it's a great place to bring family as there are kid-friendly activities there such as a mini farm and nice playgrounds.

Managed 5.5 miles and 5 hours outside before the heat became too much. Light color clothing today to reflect the sun’s heat and to help spot crawling ticks. A conservation areas is a tract of land that has been awarded protected status in order to ensure that natural features, cultural heritage or biota are safeguarded. A conservation area may be a nature reserve, a park, a land reclamation project, or other area.
In Ontario, Canada, conservation areas are areas of land (usually in rural settings) set aside for resource management, recreation, and educational purposes. They are managed by conservation authorities.
In New Zealand, a conservation area is defined under the Conservation Act 1987 as “land or foreshore held for conservation purposes or land in respect of which an interest is held for conservation purposes.”
In India, the term Conservation Area denotes a large demarcated geographical entity where landscape conservation is ongoing under a well-defined plan, usually containing other protected areas inside it.
In the United Kingdom, the term Conservation Area nearly always applies to an area (usually urban) considered worthy of preservation or enhancement because of its special architectural or historic interest, "the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance," as required by the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 (Section 69 and 70). 1:42 I caught a Largemouth Bass I decided to check out Orangeville Reservoir after work and see how the fishing is like here. Out of all the reservoirs I've been to, this seems to be the most healthy body of water with lots of weed growth and vegetation. In term shore fishing access, I would say that there's quite a few spots. This body of water contains the following species: Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Black Crappie and pan fishes. I used a white spinnerbait to catch the only bass of the day. I went to check out Heart Lake in Brampton and I caught a few bass at this lake. The shore fishing is amazing as you have lots of shore fishing access. The vegetation of the lake is also nice. They have boat rentals where you can rent canoes or a paddle boat. If you rent a paddle boat, you'll be able to cover more water and catch bigger bass! I highly recommend this place for fishing if you need to find a close place to Toronto. They also have zip lines if you're into that type of activity.

I went to checkout this place for shore fishing opportunities and it's very limited. There's a long shoreline with train tracks but it's illegal to walk along there and also dangerous. You can get fined by the park ranger. I only explored half the lake and I found only 6 spots you can fish from shore. I confirmed that there are bass and pike in here. There's a small lookout dock where I almost caught a bass by twitching the senko underneath the dock. The family that was fishing there caught a lot of bluegills and cat fish.
I do not recommend fishing here but it's a great place to bring family as there are kid-friendly activities there such as a mini farm and nice playgrounds.

I decided to check out Orangeville Reservoir after work and see how the fishing is like here.
Out of all the reservoirs I've been to, this seems to be the most healthy body of water with lots of weed growth and vegetation.
In term shore fishing access, I would say that there's quite a few spots. This body of water contains the following species: Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Black Crappie and pan fishes.
I used a white spinnerbait to catch the only bass of the day. I also tried using senkos but I had no luck.
There's a very long nice trail that brings you to an island and there's quite a few nice scenery. You'll see a bridge that cuts through the reservoir where you can find a few fishing spots at the start and end of the bridge. Fishing and swimming off the bridge is not permitted.
I would highly recommend this place if you plan on canoeing, bike riding or just simply walking the trails. In terms of fishing from the shore, it's quite difficult based on my experience.

They have boat rentals where you can rent canoes or a paddle boat. If you rent a paddle boat, you'll be able to cover more water and catch bigger bass!

We have one of Boone's older model carts with his Beauceron pulling, the older model suspension Chalo sulky with my Catahoula Leopard dog pulling and the new Chalo mini with his Malinois and German Shepherd pulling.
