Weatherzone's Perth forecast leading into Christmas
PT0M32S 620 349Weather forecasters have flipped on their original forecast for a sunny Christmas day in Perth, saying a cold front the day before is now likely to bring cooler temperatures.
After predicting a near-perfect 33-degree sunny Christmas Day on Monday - 11 days out from the big day - Weatherzone on Thursday amended its prediction to a maximum temperature of 26 degrees, with a mild chance of showers.
Meteorologist Guy Dixon said the change in forecast was due to a cold front coming through earlier than expected.
Christmas Day in Perth is tipped to be cooler than first predicted.
"A front looks to brush the South West dragging more mild air over Perth, which would lead to temperatures dropping to the mid-20s for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day," he said.
"I would put the chance of showers [on Christmas Day] at low to moderate."
The cool change will follow maximum temperatures in the mid-30s on the Tuesday and Wednesday leading up to Christmas Day.
