Plot: The professional and personal life of actor and comedian 'Peter Sellers (I)' (qv) was a turbulent one. His early movie fame was based primarily on his comic characterizations, often of bumbling and foreign-accented persons, characters which he embodied. As his movie fame rose, he began to lose his own personal identity to his movie characters, leading to self-doubt of himself as a person and a constant need for reassurance and acceptance of his work. This self-doubt manifested itself in fits of anger and what was deemed as arrogance by many. In turn, his personal relationships began to deteriorate as his characterizations were continually used to mask his problems. His first wife, Anne Howe, left/divorced him and his relationships with his parents and children became increasingly distant. His relationship with his second wife, Swedish actress 'Britt Ekland' (qv), was based on this mask. In his later life, he tried to rediscover himself and his career with what would become his penultimate film role, that of Chance in _Being There (1979)_ (qv).

Quotes:
[In a restaurant with Sophia Loren]::Waiter: What would sir and madam say to a little fish?::Peter Sellers: I'd probably say "Hello little fish!"
Anne Sellers: [shouting] I'm fucking bored of the little boy! Why can't you be a man? You're a miserable, lying shit I hate you.
Dennis Selinger: [Handing Sellers a script] It's called "The Pink Panther."::Peter Sellers: Sounds like a bloody strip joint... for poofs.
Businessman on Plane: Excuse me, but aren't you Peter Sellers?::Peter Sellers: Not today.
[Peter is telling his wife and children that he's leaving them]::Sarah Sellers: Do you still love us?::Peter Sellers: Of course I do sweetheart. Just... not as much as I love Sophia Loren.
Peter Sellers: I'm under a lot of pressure, I could use your support.::Anne Sellers: You've always had my support, Peter. It's my patience that I'm no longer sure about.
Peter Sellers: [to Britt Ekland] Christ, woman, can't you say anything real? First of all, you can't act and then you can't stop!
Peter Sellers: People ask me why do I keep compromising my artistic integrity by walking in front of Blake's cameras. And you know what I tell them? Money!
[last lines]::Peter Sellers: [as he enters his dressing room trailer] You can't come in here.
Blake Edwards: [On the set of the Pink Panther] Welcome to Hollywood.::Peter Sellers: This is Italy.::Blake Edwards: Hollywood is a state of mind.

James David Graham Niven (1 March 1910 – 29 July 1983)[1][2] was an English actor and novelist who was popular in Europe and in the United States. He may be best known for his roles as Squadron Leader Peter Carter in A Matter of Life and Death, as Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days and as Sir Charles Lytton, a.k.a. "the Phantom", in The Pink Panther. He was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Separate Tables (1958).
Born in London, Niven attended Heatherdown Preparatory School and Stowe before gaining a place at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. After Sandhurst he was gazetted a lieutenant in the Highland Light Infantry. Having developed an interest in acting, he left the Highland Light Infantry, travelled to Hollywood and had several minor roles in film. He first appeared as an extra in the British film There Goes the Bride (1932). From there, he hired an agent and had several small parts in films from 1933 to 1935, including a non-speaking part in MGM's Mutiny on the Bounty. This brought him to wider attention within the film industry and he was spotted by Samuel Goldwyn. Upon the outbreak of the Second World War, Niven returned to Britain and rejoined the army, being re-commissioned as a lieutenant.
Niven resumed his acting career after his demobilisation, and was voted the second most popular British actor in the 1945 Popularity Poll of British film stars. He appeared in A Matter of Life and Death (1946), The Bishop's Wife (1947) and Enchantment (1948), all of which received critical acclaim. Niven later appeared in The Elusive Pimpernel (1950), The Toast of New Orleans (1950), Happy Go Lovely (1951), Happy Ever After (1954) and Carrington V.C. (1955) before scoring a big success as Phileas Fogg in Michael Todd's production of Around the World in 80 Days. Niven appeared in nearly a hundred films, and many shows for TV. He also began writing books, with considerable commercial success. In 1982 he appeared in Blake Edwards' final "Pink Panther" films Trail of the Pink Panther and Curse of the Pink Panther, reprising his role as Sir Charles Lytton.

Comedy: No Deposit, No Return (1976)
Two would-be safe-crackers 'sort of' kidnap the two grandchildren of millionaire J. W. Osborne. In a story somewhat reminiscent of O. Henry's The Ransom of Red Chief, the ransom amount keeps getting smaller as the two children have the best vacation from boarding school ever with their two new friends.

NOTE: This video uses two sources in order to patch multiple portions where the satellite signal dropped out in my primary copy. Because the glitched version was in generally better video quality otherwise, I preserved as much of it as possible. As a result, you'll see the video quality change throughout the video, due to the splicing in of segments from the alternate copy.
Here's a link to the original video if you'd like to see the comments already left there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZX7z0kP1Zho
Many thanks, as always, to epaddon for providing his copy of this show, which enabled me to to patch the missing bits from my prior copy.

Wrapped up in the Kent State University riots and getting dangerously involved in the local biker and drug scenes, she escaped - to Mexico, Canada, Paris and finally London where she caught the embryonic punk scene just in time not only to witness it first-hand, but more importantly to seize the opportunity to form her own band, the Pretenders.
Iggy Pop, the Sex Pistols, the Clash, Vivienne & Malcolm, Ray Davies … on every page household names mingle with small town heroes as we shift from bedroom to biker HQ; from squat to practice room; from pub gig to Top Of The Pops – the long and crooked path to stardom, and for the Pretenders, ultimately, tragedy.
That Chrissie Hynde is alive to tell the tale is, by her own admission, something of a miracle. Throughout she is brutally honest, wryly humorous and always highly entertaining. She has written one of the most evocative and colourful music memoirs to be published in recent years.
