This ancient Roman military fort served at the base for the Seventh Legion Claudia in the fourth century, but it was in use well before that time since the 1st century.
"During the reign of Gordian III (239) the town was accorded the status of a Roman citizen colony and the right to mint local currency. Such a status was the highest that could be attained by a town in the Roman Empire. Viminacium was often chosen as a mustering point for troops and a starting point in many a military campaign.”
David and Lubomir walk around one of the covered excavation sites to see the ruins of ancient roads, public bath system, tiles, and human remains in the necropolis. Viminacium is a great day trip from Belgrade especially for history lovers. The site also features a reconstructed amphitheater and beautiful visitors center, modeled after an ancient Roman villa rustica (“domus”). There is also a hotel and restaurant onsite.

Under current prudential regimes, claims against public entities are given highly privileged treatment. This relates, among other things, to (i) capital requirements, (ii) requirements for risk diversification, and (iii) the liquidity status of such claims. The preferential regulatory treatment of government debt has helped create close interdependence between governments and their particular domestic banks, expanding public entities’ debt facilities and weakening

This video explores over 500 years of history with coins featuring Alexander the Great, even into Roman times. Alexander III was the king of Macedonia 336-323 B.C. In 13 year time period he conquered the known world.
It was because of him that the Tetradrachm standard coin was issued for hundreds of years after his death. The interesting thing to note is that his portrait and name was used on coins hundreds of years later. This video also gives a lesson on the coinage standards of ancient times.
First the video starts with coins of Philip II, the father

Cristian CEALERA, producător, realizator;
Răzvan MALCIU - editare video, regie, foto;
Cristian MEDVEGHI – operator imagine;
Marius KLEIN – voce;
Marius MATEESCU – muzică;

Participants: Markus Brunnermeier (Princeton University), Martin Hellwig (Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods), Stefan Ingves (Governor of the Sveriges Riksbank)
Under current prudential regimes, claims against public entities are given highly privileged treatment. This relates, among other things, to (i) capital requirements, (ii) requirements for risk diversification, and (iii) the liquidity status of such claims. The preferential regulatory treatment of government debt has helped create close interdependence between governments and their particular domestic banks, expanding public entities’ debt facilities and weakening market discipline for both financial institutions and governments. During the debt crisis, the close link between the two sectors was further intensified by public rescue programmes – with far-reaching implications for the financial situation of both. This second panel will provide insights into the interdependence of these two sectors, its macroeconomic and macroprudential consequences and ways to cut this Gordian knot.

http://bit.ly/alexandercoins for article about ancient coins of Alexander the Great.
First the video starts with coins of Philip II, the father of Alexander, who won an olympic horse racing victory which he minted on his coins. Then we see a Greek tetradrachm silver coin from Roman times of 90 B.C.
Macedonia later became a province of Rome and coins featuring the portrait of Alexander the Great were issued. Also the interestng thing about this series is Alexander riding his famous horse Bucephalus. Bucephalus being the only horse in history who had a city named after him called Bucephalia.

Cristian CEALERA, producător, realizator;
Răzvan MALCIU - editare video, regie, foto;
Cristian MEDVEGHI – operator imagine;
Marius KLEIN – voce;
Marius MATEESCU – muzică;
