The film opens with Roman Gonen and Eitan Haya, the two main characters of the film, at the height of their criminal careers in New York in the 1980s. Roman is selling kilos of cocaine per day, Eitan is bringing in tons of the stuff from Colombia, Johnny Attias has murdered and threatened his way to the top, and they’re all rolling in money. The Five Families of the Italian Mafia are all being chased by Giuliani, the Russian Mafia has yet to arrive, so there’s a power vacuum which is quickly being filled by the new gangsters on the block: The Israeli Mafia, who took over New York faster than any other mafia in history.
The film then goes back to explore the childhood of each character to answer the question: how did these men get started down the path towards a criminal life? Roman was born in the USSR in 1948 and was introduced early to crime by his grandfather who ran the black market in his village when Russia was still being ruled by Stalin’s iron fist. Roman and his family move to Israel and he continues his criminal life during his years in the Israeli Navy and on to Europe, where he runs insurance frauds.
Eitan, on the other hand, was thrust into a life of crime by a shattering experience that occurred when he was six years old. When the police failed to come to his aid after he was beaten by a neighbor, he decided that from then on he would make his own rules and get even on his own terms. A natural leader, by his teenage years he was already the head of a gang on the rough and tumble streets of Ramat Gan. By the time he was eighteen he was the youngest person to be convicted to a life sentence in Israel, for murder. Johnny Attias had also gone to prison for the same crime, in his case at the age of fifteen.
Haya was eventually pardoned, Johnny got out shortly after his twentieth birthday. Roman, too, had spent time behind bars in Europe, about four years of the ten he lived there. Eventually all three men made their way to New York City. Roman needed to change continents after a big score in London, Johnny had heard about all the money to be made in America, and Haya, lured by the same cash, jumped the border from Mexico and caught a ride north with a friend.
It was in New York City that the fates of these three men became intertwined. Together with a number of fellow Israelis including Israel Mizrahi, Nelo Hershko, Ran Ephraim, Yoav Sinai, Joe Reisch and Elio Hana, they formed the Israeli Mafia. With Johnny as the ruthless killer, Eitan as the brains, and Roman as the quiet supplier in the background, they quickly took over large portions of the cocaine and heroin trafficking in the city. The cries for vengeance on the lips of Christian martyrs that sound so harsh are in fact literary devices the author employed to evoke in the reader and hearer a feeling of horror for apostasy and rebellion that will be severely punished by God.

Ray Knightly (played by Emilio Roso), is an assassin. He works for Lou James (Michael Madsen), who contracts for
murder with the underworld.
Ever indebted to Lou for saving his life in prison, while serving a sentence for a crime he never committed, Ray and
fellow assassin Daryl Washington (Gary Sturgis) perform "wet work" for Lou.
Ray is haunted by memories of his beloved Nicole, who was literally torn from his arms by her father's toadies. When
his innate sense of morality stops him from executing a Russian mob lawyer-turned-informant for the FBI, Ray sets himself
up as a target for assassination. Warned that Daryl sold him out to the Mob and that the Russians plan to kill Nicole as
revenge for failing to fulfill the contract to kill the informant, he races from New York to the California Desert to reach her
in time, the Russians in hot pursuit. Getting to her before they do is all he can focus on.

The film opens with Roman Gonen and Eitan Haya, the two main characters of the film, at the height of their criminal careers in New York in the 1980s. Roman is selling kilos of cocaine per day, Eitan is bringing in tons of the stuff from Colombia, Johnny Attias has murdered and threatened his way to the top, and they’re all rolling in money. The Five Families of the Italian Mafia are all being chased by Giuliani, the Russian Mafia has yet to arrive, so there’s a power vacuum which is quickly being filled by the new gangsters on the block: The Israeli Mafia, who took over New York faster than any other mafia in history.
The film then goes back to explore the childhood of each character to answer the question: how did these men get started down the path towards a criminal life? Roman was born in the USSR in 1948 and was introduced early to crime by his grandfather who ran the black market in his village when Russia was still being ruled by Stalin’s iron fist. Roman and his family move to Israel and he continues his criminal life during his years in the Israeli Navy and on to Europe, where he runs insurance frauds.
Eitan, on the other hand, was thrust into a life of crime by a shattering experience that occurred when he was six years old. When the police failed to come to his aid after he was beaten by a neighbor, he decided that from then on he would make his own rules and get even on his own terms. A natural leader, by his teenage years he was already the head of a gang on the rough and tumble streets of Ramat Gan. By the time he was eighteen he was the youngest person to be convicted to a life sentence in Israel, for murder. Johnny Attias had also gone to prison for the same crime, in his case at the age of fifteen.
Haya was eventually pardoned, Johnny got out shortly after his twentieth birthday. Roman, too, had spent time behind bars in Europe, about four years of the ten he lived there. Eventually all three men made their way to New York City. Roman needed to change continents after a big score in London, Johnny had heard about all the money to be made in America, and Haya, lured by the same cash, jumped the border from Mexico and caught a ride north with a friend.
It was in New York City that the fates of these three men became intertwined. Together with a number of fellow Israelis including Israel Mizrahi, Nelo Hershko, Ran Ephraim, Yoav Sinai, Joe Reisch and Elio Hana, they formed the Israeli Mafia.
