Luas (Irish pronunciation: [ˈl̪ˠuəsˠ]; Irish for "speed") is a tram/light rail system in Dublin, Ireland, which in 2014 carried 32.4 million passengers.
There are two main lines: the Green Line, which began operating on 30 June 2004, and the Red Line which opened on 26 September 2004. Since then, both lines have been extended and split into different branches. The system now has fifty-four stations and 36.5 kilometres (22.7 mi) of track.
Luas is operated by Transdev, under tender from the Railway Procurement Agency (RPA). It is a major part of the National Transport Authority's strategy (2000–2016). Three extensions to the existing Luas lines have been completed. Construction of a 6 km extension to the Green line to the North city centre and Broombridge, which will link both Green and Red lines, began in June 2013.
The idea for a new tram or light rail system for the city of Dublin was first suggested in 1994, by a Dublin Transportation Initiative (DTI) report, which referenced the original Dublin tramways, once running over 60 kilometres (37 mi) and reaching most parts of the city. Following this report Córas Iompair Éireann (CIÉ), the state-owned public transport operator in Ireland, was asked to study the different options. They recommended two phases for the construction of a tram system:
Dublin (/ˈdʌblᵻn/, Irish: Baile Átha Cliath [blʲaːˈklʲiəh]) is the capital and largest city of Ireland. Dublin is in the province of Leinster on Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey. The city has an urban area population of 1,273,069. The population of the Greater Dublin Area, as of 2011, was 1,801,040 persons.
Founded as a Viking settlement, the Kingdom of Dublin became Ireland's principal city following the Norman invasion. The city expanded rapidly from the 17th century and was briefly the second largest city in the British Empire before the Acts of Union in 1800. Following the partition of Ireland in 1922, Dublin became the capital of the Irish Free State, later renamed Ireland.
Dublin is administered by a City Council. The city is listed by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network (GaWC) as a global city, with a ranking of "Alpha-", placing it among the top thirty cities in the world. It is a historical and contemporary centre for education, the arts, administration, economy and industry.

This film shows the fairly new tram network of Dublin, Ireland, which opened in 2004. The tram is promoted under the name of LUAS which stands for “speed” in Irish. As of today it consists of two lines, red and green, which have a combined length of 36.5km. Currently these two lines are disconnected, however, there are already plans on the way to connect them via a cross city section. I found the tracks are very nicely integrated into the very beautiful city of Dublin. Also the French Citadis 301 and 402 vehicles looked nice, the service is frequent, and it seems to be well adopted and heavily used by the population. However, I found that the ride on these vehicles felt a bit rough. The film begins at the northern terminus of the green line, which is at St. Stephen's Green, a park in the...

At 8am on Fri 5th Jun 2015 the first fixed Red Light Camera System in Ireland went live. This system is located on the Luas Red Line at the junction of Blackhall Place and Benburb Street. Breaking red lights carries 3 penalty points and a fine of up to €120 on payment of the fixed charge. On court conviction the number of penalty points awarded increases to 5. This Red Light Camera System and other initiatives are part of on-going #LuasSafety efforts to prevent Tram-Vehicle collisions. To prevent collisions it’s very important that motorists know how to safely share the road with Luas trams. Visit www.luas.ie for Safe Driving Around Luas Info

This is the version of my film I put in the senior graduation animation show - aka the Frame By Frame Festival at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art! everything in this film is done by me including sound and music.
Introducing the first flavored mouth guard on the market that matches or exceeds the performance of competitive products. This video showcases the design features of Mogo's mouth guard (www.mogosport.com) that were developed with Priority Designs (www.prioritydesigns.com). This is also my first After Effects + Keyshot animation project, as well as my first musical soundtrack for an animated video.
I chose to do a "music video" for this assignment. I tried to go with the idea of dreams - each segment is a reference to my own or someone else's dream they had and I interpreted it into animation. It was really hard to replicate what people/I have seen in dreams so that was really frustrating. A lot of the pieces took a lot longer than expected, so that was a learning experience... I also made the music for this!
