Hodgetwins Bio:
Keith and Kevin Hodge the Hodgetwins are famously known for their comedic commentary on the following Youtube channels Hodgetwins, Twinmusleworkout, AskHodgetwins and fastingtwins. They have earned a respectable 2.8 million loyal subscribers and grossed over 450 million views over these channels.
By the time she turned five, Amber Rachdi, now 24, from Troutdale in Oregon, weighed 11st - the same as the average adult woman.
19 years later and Ms Rachdi hit rock bottom: virtually housebound and in constant pain, she was ashamed of her enormous 46st (657lb) frame.
But after doctors warned that she would be dead by the age of 30, the 24-year-old plucked up the courage to make a change and has since lost 20st in a year.
'Sometimes I think to myself I'm never going to change,' she admitted in the run-up to life-saving bariatric surgery. 'Everything hurts. I am so limited in what I can do and where I can go.
'I feel trapped. I'm miserable. I don't like being this person. I don't like being this size. Sometimes I feel so hopeless, I feel that it's not worth it. That maybe it would be better if I'd never been born.'
Despite her hefty frame, Ms Rachdi says she has always eaten healthily - and puts the excess pounds to eating more healthy food than she should.
She also says she used food to control feelings of anxiety and to deal with her fear of failure but says all the comfort eating just made things worse in the end.
'My relationship with food is unhealthy,' she explains. 'I spend a lot of the day stressing about what I'm going to eat and when I'm going to get it.
'There's anticipation before I eat but it's not enjoyable. It's a feeling of desperation and sadness. Food is a comfort and it's helping me avoid reality. I have a lot of anxiety and I don't like it.
'I'm at peace while I eat. I don't have to think about how I have let everyone around me down. It's a distraction.'
As a result of her overeating, her parents were left in a state of panic, with mother Patty admitting that she was sure her daughter would die.
'She always felt she didn't live up to our expectations,' she says. 'She just became a typical underachiever.
'We were told that if she doesn't lose weight, she will die before she's 30.'
'I see a lot of pity in my mum's face when she looks at me and I can't handle that,' said Ms Rachdi, ahead of her surgery.
'Sometimes my dad would make snide comments about my size and that would hurt me. I wish I could be self-sufficient and successful and show the world I'm made of so much more but as long as I'm big, as long as I'm obese, I will never be able to be that person.'
The turning point came when the Rachdi family relocated to Houston in Texas to be closer to bariatric specialist, Dr Younan Nowzaradan.
Last autumn, Ms Rachdi finally went under the knife for life-saving gastric surgery and has since lost a staggering 20st.
But with another 9st to go, there is still a long way to go before Ms Rachdi becomes the 'successful, independent woman' she wants to be.
Even so, things are finally looking up. 'I'm now able to shop for myself,' beams the 24-year-old who has also learned to drive.
'I have hope. Now the world is open to me. I'm no longer Amber of one room, one house. I'm no longer using food to cope with my anxiety.'

Fat Teens in Love follows a group of obese teenagers who attend Wellspring UK in the Lake District, the UK's first teen weight loss camp, in a last ditch attempt to lose weight and end years of feeling like outsiders.
Fat Teens in Love is all about the emotional effect that being overweight has on increasing numbers of young people today.
These teens are desperate to lose weight but, like most young people, it's not just their health they're concerned about. Executive producer Emma Morgan says "They are fed up of feeling excluded from normal teenage life and being left standing at the side of the school disco, these are teenagers looking for a chance of a normal adolescence."
"What the film reveals is that Summer Camp works - in an environment where they are the same as everyone else, these overweight teens suddenly start to feel the confidence to behave like 'normal' teenagers."
The cameras follow the group doing everything from outward bounds activities and overnight camping trips to how to take control of their diet. All the teenagers also participate in counselling sessions aimed at helping them address the root causes of their over-eating and improving their self-confidence. And best of all, they are -- for the time being at least -- among a peer group who are not ridiculing them. When fat is the norm, there's a level playing field for behaving like every other teenager.

Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced life expectancy and/or increased health problems.Body mass index (BMI), a measurement which compares weight and height, defines people as overweight (pre-obese) if their BMI is between 25 and 30 kg/m2, and obese when it is greater than 30 kg/m2.
Obesity increases the likelihood of various diseases, particularly heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, certain types of cancer, and osteoarthritis. Obesity is most commonly caused by a combination of excessive food energy intake, lack of physical activity, and genetic susceptibility, although a few cases are caused primarily by genes, endocrine disorders, medications or psychiatric illness. Evidence to support the view that some obese people eat little yet gain weight due to a slow metabolism is limited; on average obese people have a greater energy expenditure than their thin counterparts due to the energy required to maintain an increased body mass.

By the time she turned five, Amber Rachdi, now 24, from Troutdale in Oregon, weighed 11st - the same as the average adult woman.
19 years later and Ms Rachdi hit rock bottom: virtually housebound and in constant pain, she was ashamed of her enormous 46st (657lb) frame.
But after doctors warned that she would be dead by the age of 30, the 24-year-old plucked up the courage to make a change and has since lost 20st in a year.
'Sometimes I think to myself I'm never going to change,' she admitted in the run-up to life-saving bariatric surgery. 'Everything hurts. I am so limited in what I can do and where I can go.
'I feel trapped. I'm miserable. I don't like being this person. I don't like being this size. Sometimes I feel so hopeless, I feel that it's not worth it. That maybe it would be better if I'd never been born.'
Despite her hefty frame, Ms Rachdi says she has always eaten healthily - and puts the excess pounds to eating more healthy food than she should.
She also says she used food to control feelings of anxiety and to deal with her fear of failure but says all the comfort eating just made things worse in the end.
'My relationship with food is unhealthy,' she explains. 'I spend a lot of the day stressing about what I'm going to eat and when I'm going to get it.
'There's anticipation before I eat but it's not enjoyable. It's a feeling of desperation and sadness. Food is a comfort and it's helping me avoid reality. I have a lot of anxiety and I don't like it.
'I'm at peace while I eat. I don't have to think about how I have let everyone around me down. It's a distraction.'
As a result of her overeating, her parents were left in a state of panic, with mother Patty admitting that she was sure her daughter would die.
'She always felt she didn't live up to our expectations,' she says. 'She just became a typical underachiever.
'We were told that if she doesn't lose weight, she will die before she's 30.'
'I see a lot of pity in my mum's face when she looks at me and I can't handle that,' said Ms Rachdi, ahead of her surgery.
'Sometimes my dad would make snide comments about my size and that would hurt me. I wish I could be self-sufficient and successful and show the world I'm made of so much more but as long as I'm big, as long as I'm obese, I will never be able to be that person.'
The turning point came when the Rachdi family relocated to Houston in Texas to be closer to bariatric specialist, Dr Younan Nowzaradan.
Last autumn, Ms Rachdi finally went under the knife for life-saving gastric surgery and has since lost a staggering 20st.
But with another 9st to go, there is still a long way to go before Ms Rachdi becomes the 'successful, independent woman' she wants to be.
Even so, things are finally looking up. 'I'm now able to shop for myself,' beams the 24-year-old who has also learned to drive.
'I have hope. Now the world is open to me. I'm no longer Amber of one room, one house. I'm no longer using food to cope with my anxiety.'

Executive producer Emma Morgan says "They are fed up of feeling excluded from normal teenage life and being left standing at the side of the school disco, these are teenagers looking for a chance of a normal adolescence."
"What the film reveals is that Summer Camp works - in an environment where they are the same as everyone else, these overweight teens suddenly start to feel the confidence to behave like 'normal' teenagers."
The cameras follow the group doing everything from outward bounds activities and overnight camping trips to how to take control of their diet. All the teenagers also participate in counselling sessions aimed at helping them address the root causes of their over-eating and improving their self-confidence. And best of all, they are -- for the time being at least -- among a peer group who are not ridiculing them. When fat is the norm, there's a level playing field for behaving like every other teenager.

NEW YORK (AP) - Obesity is still rising among American adults, despite more than a decade of public-awareness campaigns and other efforts to get people to watch their weight, and women have now overtaken men in the obese category, new government research shows. For the past several years, experts thought the nation's alarming, decades-long rise in obesity had leveled off. But the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a report Thursday that the obesity rate climbed to nearly 38 percent of adults in 2013-14, up from 32 percent about a decade earlier. "This is a striking finding" and suggests that a situation that was thought to be stable is getting worse, said Dr. William Dietz, an obesity expert at George Washington University. But another authority, the University of North Carolina's Barry Popkin, urged caution, saying the participants selected for the study may not have been representative of the nation as a whole. Experts said they had no explanation for why the obesity rate appears to be rising. The report also found a tipping of the scales toward women. Obesity rates for men and women had been roughly the same for about a decade. But in the new report, the rate was significantly higher for women, at 38 percent, compared with 34 percent for men. Obesity which means not merely overweight, but seriously overweight is considered one of the nation's leading public health problems. Until the early 1980s, only about 1 in 6 adults were obese, but the rate climbed dramatically until it hit about 1 in 3 around a decade ago. The new figures come from a regular government survey that has about 5,000 participants each year. In interviews, people tend to understate their weight and overstate their height. But participants in this survey are actually weighed. Because of that, it is considered the gold standard for measuring the nation's waistline. The news comes after years of government anti-obesity campaigns to encourage people to eat better and exercise. Also, soda consumption has dropped in recent years, and fast-food chains have adopted healthier menus. New federal rules have also been adopted to remove artificial trans fats from grocery store foods and to require chain restaurants to post calorie counts, though those have not gone into effect yet. The widening gap between men and women seems to be driven by what's happening among blacks and Hispanics, said the study's lead author, the CDC's Cynthia Ogden. Obesity rates for white men and white women remain very close. But for blacks, the female obesity rate has soared to 57 percent, far above the male rate of 38 percent. The gender gap is widening among Hispanics, too 46 percent for women, 39 percent for men. The report also looked at obesity in children but did not see much change. For young people ages 2 to 19, the rate has been holding at about 17 percent over the past decade or so. Health officials have been especially focused on obesity in kids, who are the target of the Let's Move campaign launched by first lady Michelle Obama in 2010. A CDC report last year noted one possible glimmer of hope: a decline in obesity among children ages 2 to 5. Their rate had fallen to about 8 percent in the 2011-12 survey, down from 14 per cent a decade earlier. In a piece of good news, the new, 2013-14 report suggests that the decline among toddlers was real and not a statistical fluke. The rate was found to be holding pretty much steady around 9 percent. The CDC measures obesity by calculating Body Mass Index, a ratio of weight to height. For adults, a BMI of 25 to 29.9 is overweight, and 30 or higher is obese. Could seaweed help to beat obesity?
Seaweed isn’t technically a plant, but it does have some serious plant power.
By 2050 half of the UK population could be obese. Obesity already costs us £4.2Bn per year, and that could double.
In the UK, fat makes up about 40% of our diet. That adds up to crisis, for health and economy.
So, what can we do about it? Researchers found that alginate from seaweeds, especially kelp, helps to stop the body from digesting fat.
And we don’t get the side effects that come with other obesity treatments. Alginate is in lots of foods we eat, but there isn’t enough to do the trick.
But fat busting alginates are easily extracted and incorporated into other foods.
When researchers used it in bread, tasters actually preferred the seaweed bread. No seaweed flavour, same great texture, extra fat busting magic. You won’t even know it’s there, but your body will thank you.
This is one more way that everyday plants, and seaweed, are doing amazing things.

‘Body Image’ is a four-part series of full-length documentaries exploring modern body issues.
Part 1 – ‘Obesity: A Deadly Risk’ – examines the genetic and environmental factors that have lead to the current global obesity epidemic.
At present, the United States is one of the fattest nations on earth, where a number of the population are considered heavy enough to seriously endanger their health. ‘Obesity: A Deadly Risk’ follows four overweight Americans who are trying to shape up in order to change – perhaps even save – their own lives:
- Bob Hyman, 45, is spending $6,000 on a four-week stay at the world-famous Duke Diet and Fitness Center, where he aims to figure out what drives him to over-eat... and stop his dangerous dining habits.
- Joanne Harris, a nurse who weighs a mighty 310 pounds, is so morbidly obese that she may not survive much longer unless she loses weight – yet she’s tried every diet going. Now she’s turning to gastric bypass surgery, and hopes that this drastic operation to reduce her stomach to the size of her thumb will help her to lose nearly half of her present bodyweight.
- 10-year-old Allie Rodriguez and 8-year-old Carly Campbell are only young, yet they respectively weigh 110 and 102 pounds – meaning they’re lessening their chances of safely growing older. They’re enrolling in a unique California-based scheme called Kidshape, where they and their families will learn about healthier eating and exercise.
The documentary also hears from Walter Lindstrom, an obesity advocate who believes that being fat is the last health taboo, and visits Pennington Bio-Medical Labs in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where cutting-edge research is being undertaken into how people’s size can be affected by their genes.
‘Body Image’ Part 1- ‘Obesity: A Deadly Risk’ is essential viewing for anyone interested in one of the BIGGEST issues concerning human health today.
