I posted this clip for the purposes of clarifying the exchange that took place between Congressman Boren and Howard Houchen. I asked for and received from Howard Houchen a clarification of the exchange and this is what I received from him: The second part of the question was multi-pronged: I asked him to reconcile his rhetoric with his voting record relative to his claims of being a Blue-Dog. They are, by their own definition (and he agreed) supposed to be fiscally conservative and for limited gov't and pointed out he had admitted in previous questions from citizens the TARP, Stimulus, and other votes that didn't seem very Blue-Dog-like. I then pointed out the IMF funding he voted for and the HR 2749 bill he helped pass on July 30 (by the way he voted for that same bill on July 29 under suspension of rules and it lacked 3 votes required for passage under suspension). HR 2749 is the so-called "Food Safety Enhancement Act 2009" that expands the scope of gov't and put serious constraints of small businesses and crop growers. More intrusions of gov't on the people. His response to the IMF was fallacious...the one I am speaking of was not contained in the Armed Services Approp. Bill. Then he turned to the questioner on the other side of the room, I approached the mic again and asked if he would answer the question...he simply turned his back and said "NO". Somewhere in there he asked if I was a congressional candidate adn I responded: "yes I am, and I'm running against you" HI, DAN!
