This documentary is an inside look at the Scientology Celebrity Centre. I begin by taking you on my journey from a fresh faced new actor who just arrived in Los Angeles, full of hopes and dreams, to ultimately being recruited into Hollywood's most dangerous, secretive, and famous cult. I'm bringing to light all of their horrible crimes, especially detailing how they exploit members financially. I talk about their elite Sea Organization, which makes members sign billion year contracts and devote their entire lives to serving Scientology as around the clock slave labor. I also publicly reveal how anti-gay the church is, bringing homophobia to a whole new level. I'm exposing the church and airing all of their dirty laundry!
I know all of their inner workings. I know all of the inside secrets about the church and their celebrities. This is the video Scientology doesn't want you to see and what they don't want you to know about - and I tell all!
About Me: My name is Steven Mango and I was a parishoner of the exclusive Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood, CA. In the span of four years of devoted membership until my escape in 2012, I became a lifetime member, I donated close to $50,000 to the church, and I was a victim of severe spiritual and emotional abuse inside the walls of the church. I was also a poster boy for the church, appearing in advertisements for the International Association of Scientologists across the Celebrity Centre. My photo also appeared on their The Way To Happiness booklets.

10 Creepiest Cults and Religious Practices
10 Women You Won't Believe Exist
Description:
Most of us are familiar with the Church of Scientology thanks to Tom Cruise jumping up and down on Oprah’s couch while declaring his love for Katie Holmes. At first glance, many people don’t take Scientology seriously, and the religion has been made the butt of several jokes. The church has been made fun of for several decades for their beliefs that seem to come straight from science fiction books. But given that their founder was a science fiction author, this makes quite a bit of sense. The church strives to help people find spiritual healing without the use of medications or drugs, believing the pharmaceutical industry is cruel and barbaric. Instead, through the use of meditation and a device called an E-meters, you can achieve spiritual healing. If you go through the appropriate training and pay the fees, you can even achieve a new level of spiritual power and awareness. Of course, that is, if you even believe in the church.
There have been numerous controversies within Scientology since its founding in the 1950’s. For one, the fact that L. Ron Hubbard started out as a science fiction writer and seemed to have turned his stories into church doctrine that other people quickly fell for. Celebrities such as John Travolta and Isaac Hayes are also well known members of the church. But should you defy them in any sort of way, then you are in for a whirlwind of trouble since the church seems to have powerful connections to make any person’s life a living hell.
The Church of Scientology is also well known for possibly brainwashing their members and enforcing a disconnection from family and friends who aren’t members. While the church declares itself to not be a cult, many people from the outside claim that these are practices of a cult. Given that church members seem to change dramatically after joining, the idea is justified.
But probably one of the most shocking parts about Scientology is the origin story for the religion. The origin really is taken straight out of fiction, but their members believe in the doctrine wholeheartedly. The alien emperor Xenu, who lived 75 million years ago, wanted to control the alien population by killing civilizations at the rate of pure genocide. But Xenu wasn’t done yet. As the souls of the deceased aliens began to manifest, he captured them and forced them to watch videos and implant false memories and religions into the souls. Once they were released, the alien souls attached themselves to human bodies. It is these confused and brainwashed alien souls that causes many of our emotional issues, according to Scientology.
These are yet but a few of the most shocking facts about Scientology. Whether you agree with the church or not, be careful where and how you express your doubt, as you may find yourself in a courtroom with representatives of the church.
The Church of Scientology has a problem with free speech, according to three speakers who have dared to question the Church’s self-certification of itself as a religion and the claim made by its apostles, Tom Cruise and John Travolta, that it is a force for good. N.B. We have contacted the London branch of the Church of Scientology to send a representative, but have not had a reply from them. We’ll have an open chair on stage if they change their mind.
US journalist Tony Ortega, author of an acclaimed biography, The Unbreakable Miss Lovely: How the Church of Scientology tried to destroy Paulette Cooper, John Sweeney, the BBC Panorama journalist and author of The Church Of Fear: Inside the Weird World of Scientology and the publisher of both books, Humfrey Hunter, explain what it is like to question the word and the worth of the Church that likes to wear dark glasses.
Tony Ortega has written about Scientology as a journalist for nearly 20 years, and began working with Paulette Cooper about her life story while he was still at the Voice. Ortega appears in Alex Gibney’s HBO-produced documentary about Scientology, Going Clear, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
John Sweeney is a writer and journalist. His philosophy as a reporter is: ‘I poke crocodiles, if crocodiles they be, in the eye with a stick.’
He’s helped free seven people falsely accused of killing their babies and reported on wars, revolutions and trouble in 80 countries, but he’s most famous for doing an impression of an exploding tomato while investigating the Church of Scientology.
Humfrey Hunter previously published John Sweeney’s book, The Church of Fear: Inside the Weird World of Scientology, and last year brought Russell Miller’s landmark biography of Scientology’s founder, Bare-Faced Messiah: The True Story of L. Ron Hubbard, back into print for the first time in 27 years.

Video uploaded for educational purposes protected by S.107 of the U.S.C.
Scientology and Me was a television documentary broadcast 14 May 2007 as part of the BBC's Panorama series. Reporter John Sweeney visited the United States to investigate whether the Church of Scientology was becoming more mainstream. The program gained particular controversy before and during filming due to unresolved differences on content and approach between Sweeney's production team and Scientology members, who did not want detractors or perceived enemies of the church to be interviewed or included in the documentary.
Scientology leader David Miscavige was unhappy with the church's handling of the documentary, and was to punish Church spokesman Mike Rinder exiling him to the United Kingdom to dig ditches. As a result, he left the church in 2007.In 2009, he has subsequently spoken out against the church, and now said he lied to Sweeney during the interviewing to defend the church.

"Going Clear" journalist Tony Ortega discusses Scientology's dirty tricks -- then and now
In 1971, a New York magazine freelancer named Paulette Cooper published The Scandal of Scientology, one of the first books to give the public a view into this secretive organization. She nearly paid for it with her life. What even Paulette didn't know at the time was the extent that Scientology and its founder, L. Ron Hubbard, would go to destroy someone it perceived as an enemy. By 1973, Paulette had been framed in an elaborate plot involving fake bomb-threat letters, and she faced 15 years in federal prison if convicted. Newly unearthed documents show that by that time, Scientology had kept her under tight surveillance for several years and proposed many ways to destroy her reputation and life. She was finally exonerated after the FBI raided Scientology in 1977 and found those documents, which referred to her by the code name "Miss Lovely." Eleven top Scientology officials went to prison after that raid, but more than 30 years later, Scientology is still around -- and so is Paulette. In his new, and first, book, The Unbreakable Miss Lovely, journalist Tony Ortega tells Paulette's story in full for the first time, with eyewitness accounts and new documents which describe the full extent of her ordeal -- and her continued fight against a group now seriously in decline. The book also describes her childhood survival of the Holocaust, and her much calmer life in Florida today with her husband Paul, as well as the latest developments in the controversies facing Scientology today. Ortega is the executive editor of TheLipTV. From 2007 to 2012, he was editor in chief of The Village Voice, and he's been investigating and writing about Scientology since 1995, when he was a reporter for the Phoenix New Times. He also wrote for or edited weekly newspapers in Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Fort Lauderdale. Originally from Los Angeles, he lives in New York and maintains a breaking news website about Scientology news, "The Underground Bunker" (tonyortega.org). He is also featured in "Going Clear," Alex Gibney's documentary about Scientology, which first aired on HBO in March.

Funny Or Die's Billy on the Street with Billy Eichner is a pop culture game show that follows unfiltered and unapologetic comedian Billy Eichner as he hits the streets of New York City to test unsuspecting passersby. Billy gives contestants the chance to win cash and other prizes by playing games such as "Quizzed in the Face," with lifeline options to "Beg a Stranger" or "Compliment His Hair." Other games could include "Dead or Boring?" and "Name 20 White People in 30 Seconds."
An Emmy nominee for hosting Billy on the Street, Eichner appeared in a much buzzed-about Billy on the Street segment with Seth Meyers on last year's Primetime Emmys and was named People Magazine's Breakout Star of 2014. Billy on the Street has garnered wide praise from critics. The New York Times called it "uproarious... Eichner is doing things within the confines of the television set that feel loose, unpredictable and appealingly wrong."Entertainment Weekly named Billy on the Street to its weekly "Must List." USA Today called it "your new favorite show." And The Huffington Post heralded it an "LOL-worthy" series packed with "frantic hilarity."

1. Shawn Lonsdale was a long time enemy of Scientology; the church moved into his hometown and he wasn't pleased. He often picketed and demonstrated outside their offices and always felt the brunt of their sheer numbers. The church dug deep into Lonsdale's past and found he had two convictions, both misdemeanors related to having sex with men in public. Using the information, the church plastered fliers around town with Lonsdale’s mug shot and also called his landlord and his employer and told them that he was a religious bigot who was possibly dangerous. Shawn lonsdale would always mention to friends what has Scientology got to hide after going to great lengths to shame him in public
On February 16, 2008, neighbors called the police to report a terrible odor coming from Lonsdale’s house. The police entered the house and found Lonsdale, who was 39, dead. There was a garden hose leading from his car into his house, and his death was ruled a suicide.
2. Patrice Vic of Lyon, received a brochure about Scientology that convinced Patrice to give it a try. He was involved with them for a short time, and even though Nelly, his wife, thought that the group was harassing them, Patrice agreed to meet with Jean-Jacques Mazier, the head of the Lyon chapter.
While in the meeting, Mazier pressured Patrice to do a “purification” treatment for 30,000 francs (US$6,000). Mazier kept insisting that Patrice go through with it, even suggesting that they take out a bank loan if they didn’t have the money. Nelly refused, and started to think on leaving scientology and the couple returned home. him and his wife talks and discussed a lot of thing especially after he had a meeting with the former senior executive of church of scientology
Throughout the night, Patrice described to his wife the facts about the church of scientology. He was really uncomfortable and disturbed with something that was said to him in the meeting. Patrice tossed and turned until about 5:00 AM. Then the father of two got out of bed, said “Don’t stop me; it’s the only way,” and jumped out the window of the family’s 12th-floor apartment. He did not survive the fall.
Eight years later, Mazier and 22 other members of the church were charged in connection with the death. The church slammed the trial, saying that Scientology, which is considered a cult in France, was on trial and that the trial was a sham. Nevertheless, Mazier was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and given 18 months in prison
3. Quentin Hubbard was the eldest son of L. Ron, Ron chose Quentin to be his successor to the leader of Scientology. Quentin, however, didn’t really take Scientology seriously, even though he had risen to be one of the top-ranking members. When Quentin was 22, he apparently said that the practices his dad came up with didn’t work and that he just faked the results.even went public with shocking facts about scientology. Quentin also said that he thought his father was crazy.
Saying something like this was one of the worst things that you could do in the church, even if you were the son of the leader, and Quentin was told he would have to hand over his credentials and start all over again. That night, Quentin disappeared from the Scientology compound. He left behind a rambling note about UFOs and said he was going to Area 51 in Nevada to fly spy planes.
Three hundred operatives from the church’s Guardian Office, a Scientology organization that is compared to the CIA and KGB, were sent to find him.On October 28, the Las Vegas police found a white Pontiac without license plates. A young man was unconscious inside. The engine was still running and there was a tube going from the exhaust pipe into the car. He stayed in a coma until November 12, when he finally passed away.
4. Theresa Duncan and her boyfriend Jeremy Blake, were well-respected artists and bloggers who lived in New York. They were both acting paranoid for no reason all of a sudden; for example, they claimed that they were being terrorized by Scientologists. Blake had designed an album cover for famous Scientologist Beck. It was during this time that the couple started to talk more about Scientology and Beck's new movie. According to emails from Duncan to a friend, Beck apparently wanted to use the movie in New York to get away from the Los Angeles–centric Church of Scientology. With their lives seemingly out of control, Blake found Duncan’s lifeless body in their apartment on July 10. She had overdosed on over-the-counter medication.

The public image and public relations of the Church of Scientology has never been at such a low point as it is now. There are reasons for this and in this video I break down what some of those reasons are. Scientology is literally collapsing right before our eyes and its leader, David Miscavige, is not dealing with this in any kind of effective or reasonable manner.
