Hans Rosling's famous lectures combine enormous quantities of public data with a sport's commentator's style to reveal the story of the world's past, present and future development. Now he explores stats in a way he has never done before - using augmented reality animation. In this spectacular section of 'The Joy of Stats' he tells the story of the world in 200 countries over 200 years using 120,000 numbers - in just four minutes. Plotting life expectancy against income for every country since 1810, Hans shows how the world we live in is radically different from the world most of us imagine.

An Age Old Problem - Japan: With the oldest life expectancy in the world, Japan is turning to technology such as robots to help look after the elderly.
For more information and downloads visit: http://journeyman.tv/61316/short-films/an-age-old-problem.html
We travel to Japan, December 2010, the world's oldest nation, to discover the secret to dealing with advancing age. But have they got the answers?
With 30 million people over 65, Japan's life expectancy is the highest in the world. In the countryside it seems that keeping active and sociable is the secret; "a positive mental attitude is what counts". Yet in Tokyo the story is not quite the same - in the city the elderly aren't active through choice. Meagre pensions mean they often work up to their deaths. More and more old people line the streets, "living one day to the next". With a huge burden falling on the younger generation, the technophile Japanese see robots as a solution, most recently developing a 'robot suit' walking aid, designed to increase independence. It's a step in the right direction, but is it too little too late?

Athletes Don’t Live Long as Average Couch Potato? - http://thejoelarchive.com
Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing the life expectancy of professional athletes. Stating the average lifespan of various pro athletes from different sports. Contending they don't live as long as the average couch potato. Because they have lost nutrients through sweat during their workouts and games. Asserting that they have access to the best doctors, the best foods, best training and lifestyles. But they are re-hydrating with drinks that have either no or very few nutrients.
Pearls of Wisdom
Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about medical tests that do more harm than good. The list compiled by the American Board of Internal Medicine state these tests expose patients to unnecessary procedures that often lead to injury or even death. They contend nuclear stress tests, yearly electrocardiograms, PSA tests, PET scans for Alzheimer's, x-rays, CT scans, or MRIs for lower back pain, yearly Pap tests, bone density tests of women over 65 and men over 70, ultrasounds for ovarian cysts, colonoscopies after age 75 and yearly physicals.
Callers
Tom has questions about artificial insemination of cattle.
Jasmine is on blood thinners following a cerebral stroke but doesn't want to take them the rest of her life.
Patricia is experiencing peripheral neuropathies.
Michael has been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and wants avoid surgery.
Mimi has questions regarding osteoporosis.

MITIGATE stands for Closed-loop Molecular Environment for Minimally Invasive Treatment of Patients with Metastatic Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumours
Gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) is a rare disease and frequently affects young patients and often results in a short life expectancy of less than 3 years. Currently there is only one class of effective medications, for systemic GIST therapy and often the tumours develop drug resistance after a few years. The MITIGATE consortium representing three European universities, three research organisations and four SMEs will pursue the ultimate goal to develop new protocols and guidelines to effectively diagnose and treat patients with metastatic GIST resistant to current treatment.
MITIGATE is co-funded by the European Community`s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-20013) under grant agreement no 602306 and will run from October 2013 until 2017.
As part of the MITIGATE project, we developed a novel endoscopic biopsy system to be able to take large volume tissue samples from the GI tract.
The research leading to these results has received funding from the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement no 602306.

Life expectancy for South Korean babies born in 2014 is 82.4 years, five years longer than those born in the previous year.
According to Statistics Korea, male babies born last year are expected to live on average 79 years, six and a half years less than their female counterparts who are expected to live 85.5 years.
The difference in life expectancy between men and women in the country has been narrowing since the gap peaked in 1985 with women living 8.4 years longer.
A few factors that contribute to the gap are the larger proportion of men who die from liver diseases as well as the higher death rate of male babies from cancer, 28.4 percent compared to 16.9 percent of female babies.
A difference in region was also found, with a higher life expectancy in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi Province. A lower-than-average life expectancy is forecast in the southern industrial city of Ulsan and the eastern Gangwon Province.

Life expectancy nearly doubled in the 20th century. The mission of the Stanford Center on Longevity is to ensure that added years improve quality of life at all ages. We maintain that to the extent that the majority of people arrive at old age mentally sharp, physically fit and financially secure, aging societies will thrive. Recorded on October 23, 2014 in collaboration with the Stanford Alumni Association as part of Stanford Reunion Homecoming and the Graduate School of Business Fall Reunion/Alumni Weekend. Speakers: Laura Carstensen, Fairleigh S. In the fall of 1997, Supreme-Wisdom began production on his debut
solo album entitled, "Life Expectancy". Working alone gave him the
freedom to speak from his heart with no ifs, ands or edits. A
professional recording studio was sought out and the project was
completed in the summer of 1998. Supreme-Wisdom promoted the
album with his two song demo entitled, "Before the Life". Thanks to
Jae Jackson and the support of WPAL Rhythm 100.9, "Eastside Under",
was featured as a "Wake Up Show" world premiere exclusive. The
Program Director stated, "Supreme-Wisdom, is by far a rising star and
worthy of air play not only on WPAL Rhythm 100.9 but radio stations
across the nation." Area music stores were pleased to house the local
celebrity which earned him a spot on the Millennium Music Charleston
Sampler Volume 2 compilation. "Say Good-Bye", the other song from
his demo made him the first rap artist to be featured on the compilation.
Despite the shoe string budget, the will of Supreme-Wisdom proved to
be the determining factor.

Feedback video to Incoming Message to all Beings on Planet Earth : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcHa1ICFiPM
As the two doomsday aspects that will most likely shift the doomsday clock closer to midnight is Fukushima, and secondly Censorship problem which is growing into an extremely stupendous aspect indicating the fall of this current civilization, which most of the censorship is based on the religio-political ideology and its fears with the human body and sensual and sexual intimacy.
1) Fukushima... and other environmental threats
2) Censorship.
The factors that would shift the clock further towards midnight in November (very likely by one minute, more likely by two minutes and less likely by three minutes: - with these possible figures 11:56, 11:57 and 11:58 as the possible readings next month. I hope I am wrong.
Fukushima: Uncontained Nuclear disaster (Chernobyl was contained), and the damage could total more than the combination of Chernobyl and all the test bombs that went off on this planet. Fukushima is over 168 Hiroshimas ...
Censorship: a contribution factor that is covering up the above as well as censorship in general would make more people ignorant on top of the lack of education. This feeds religion, which would result in civilization going backward... and with people getting less smarter with the above disaster happening and religion on a rampage in the scarcity of resources... you bound to have your thermo nuclear zombie apocalypse which is a bit of an exaggeration, but am I exaggerating ? dont know and when you think about it to much it can drive you insane... because you cant do anything., since everything on what you can and cant do is constrained by the money/currency system....
Lets end these doomsday threats, before they lead to more undesirable threats. Also the star people are waiting for everyone's total response... so far there has been more anti-ET propaganda shifting the over all planetary consciousness away from help.
