When “Outlander” first arrived to the screen, there was some skepticism towards the show from certain parts of the audience, as people were not entirely convinced that the original literary work could be adapted to a TV production so well. And yet, once the episodes started rolling out, it quickly became clear that this was no ordinary show and it was produced with a lot of care and attention.
By the time season one ended, the show had already managed to build a very large following of fans, with many people talking about it eagerly and discussing what could come in the future. The plot of the show is definitely very open to more interesting developments right now, and season 2 has a lot of potential to make things even more exciting for all characters alike.
Now that we’ve seen an official preview of the next season, excitement among fans grew even more and there have been lots of discussions on the Internet about what we saw and what implications the trailer could have for the future of the show. It’s obvious that things are going to change somewhat for the new episodes and the show is moving into a new era, but are all of those changes going to impact it positively?
Jamie and Claire are chasing after a goal that might prove too challenging for them this time, as they are determined to infiltrate the upper layers of French society and prevent the revolution that would wipe out Scottish people. The task is obviously not a light one and nobody probably expected that they would be able to get it done without facing some issues, but from what we’ve been able to see so far, it looks like it could be an even more serious problem for them than we would guess, to the point where it’s starting to jeopardize their actual relationship.
On the other hand, it’s also implied that their efforts to build up their political connections might prove less successful than they would hope for at first, further adding to their troubles and driving a wedge between them. Are they going to be strong enough to pull through these tough times? It’s important to remember what they have at stake, so they likely have a much stronger determination to get the job done than most people would in their situation.
And while the preview was nice and got fans sufficiently excited, we still don’t know when exactly the season is actually arriving. All that’s been said about the release date so far is that it will be at some point in the spring of 2016, but an exact date hasn’t been specified yet. And on the other hand, the show has only been around for one season so far so it’s hard to make any predictions for its schedule based on its past. That of course hasn’t stopped fans from actively speculating about the release date though, and this is one of the hottest topics in the community right now.
Jaime and Claire have a serious asset at their disposal, their unique knowledge. It would be interesting to see how the two characters utilize that to achieve their goal, but we don’t know if it will be a surefire tool all throughout the season or if the couple might face some issues with the integrity of what they know after they have started to change the course of history.
