Nesoddtangen is a village in, and the administrative centre of Nesodden in Akershus, Norway. It had 11,795[citation needed] residents in 2011; about two thirds of the municipality's population. It's located some 4 miles (7 kilometers) south west of Oslo, and passenger ferry is the most used commuting transportation. Of the working population in Nesoddtangen, more than 90% work in Oslo.
The name Nesoddtangen is a triple tautology, consisting of three parts, nes, odd (from odde) and tangen, all being synonyms signifying a small cape or promontory.
