The Congress of Vienna was a conference of ambassadors of European states chaired by Austrian statesman Klemens Wenzel von Metternich, and held in Vienna from September 1814 to June 1815. The objective of the Congress was to provide a long-term peace for Europe by settling critical issues arising from the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars. The goal was not simply to restore old boundaries, but to resize the main powers so they could balance each other off and remain at peace. The leaders were conservatives with little use for republicanism or revolution. France lost all its recent conquests, while Prussia, Austria and Russia made major territorial gains. Prussia added smaller German states in the west and 40% of the Kingdom of Saxony; Austria gained Venice and much of northern Italy. Russia gained parts of Poland. The new kingdom of the Netherlands had been created just months before, and included formerly Austrian territory that in 1830 became Belgium.
Historian Paul Schroeder argues that the old formulas for "balance of power" were in fact highly destabilizing and predatory. He says the Congress of Vienna avoided them and instead set up rules that produced a stable and benign equilibrium. The Congress of Vienna was the first of a series of international meetings that came to be known as the Concert of Europe, which was an attempt to forge a peaceful balance of power in Europe. It served as a model for later organizations such as the League of Nations in 1919 and the United Nations in 1945.

The first historical reference to Warsaw dates back to the year 1313, when initially Kraków served as the Polish capital city. Due to its central location between the Commonwealth's capitals of Kraków and Vilnius, Warsaw became the capital of the Commonwealth and the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland when King Sigismund III Vasa moved his court from Kraków to Warsaw in 1596. After the Third Partition of Poland in 1795, Warsaw was incorporated into the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1806 during the Napoleonic Wars, the city became the official capital of the Grand Duchy of Warsaw, a puppet state of the First French Empire created by Napoleon Bonaparte. With accordance to the decision of the Congress of Vienna, Warsaw in 1815 was annexed by the Russian Empire and became part of the "Congress Kingdom". Only in 1918 it regained independence from the foreign rule and emerged as a new capital of the independent Republic of Poland. Along with the German invasion in 1939, the massacre of the Jewish population and deportations to concentration camps led to the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto in 1943 and to a major and devastating Warsaw Uprising between August and October 1944. For this Warsaw gained the title of the "Phoenix City" because it has survived many wars, conflicts and invasions throughout its long history. Most notably, the city had to be painstakingly rebuilt after the extensive damage it suffered in World War II, during which 85% of its buildings were destroyed. On 9 November 1940, the city was awarded Poland's highest military decoration for heroism, the Virtuti Militari, during the Siege of Warsaw (1939). (wikipedia)

ABOUT WARSAW:
Warsaw (Polish: Warszawa [varˈʂava] ( listen); see also other names), is the capital and largest city of Poland. It is located on the Vistula River, in east-central Poland, roughly 260 kilometres (160 mi) from the Baltic Sea and 300 kilometres (190 mi) from the Carpathian Mountains. Its population is estimated at 1.740 million residents within a greater metropolitan area of 2.666 million residents, which makes Warsaw the 9th most populous capital city in the European Union.[2][3][4] The city limits cover 516.9 square kilometres (199.6 sq mi), while the metropolitan area covers 6,100.43 square kilometres (2,355.39 sq mi).[5]
In 2012 Warsaw was ranked as the 32nd most liveable city in the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit.[6] It was also ranked as one of the most liveable cities in Central and Eastern Europe. Today Warsaw is considered an Alpha– global city, a major international tourist destination and a significant cultural, political and economic hub.[7][8][9] Warsaw's economy, by a wide variety of industries, is characterised by FMCG manufacturing, metal processing, steel and electronic manufacturing and food processing. The city is a significant centre of research and development, BPO, ITO, as well as Polish media industry. The Warsaw Stock Exchange is one of the largest and most important in Central Europe. Frontex, the European Union agency for external border security, is headquartered in Warsaw. Unusually for a European city, Warsaw has a prominent skyline with many skyscrapers and high-rise buildings in the city center. Warsaw is one of only a few cities in the European Union that have such a skyline, together with Frankfurt, London and Paris.

Most notably, the city had to be painstakingly rebuilt after the extensive damage it suffered in World War II, during which 85% of its buildings were destroyed.[11][12] On 9 November 1940 the city was awarded Poland's highest military decoration for heroism, the Virtuti Militari, during the Siege of Warsaw (1939).[13][14]
The city is the seat of a Roman Catholic archdiocese (left bank) and diocese (right bank of the Vistula), and possesses various universities, most notably the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Warsaw University, an opera house, theatres, museums, libraries and monuments. The historic city centre of Warsaw with its picturesque Old Town in 1980 was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other main architectural attractions include the Castle Square with the Royal Castle and the iconic King Sigismund's Column, St. John's Cathedral, Market Square, palaces, churches and mansions all displaying a richness of colour and architectural detail. Buildings are representatives of nearly every European architectural style and historical period. Warsaw has wonderful examples of architecture from the gothic, renaissance, baroque and neoclassical periods and around a quarter of the city is filled with grand parks and royal gardens.

TRAVEL VLOG IN WARSAW, TRAVEL IN WARSAW, TRIP IN WARSAW.. WARSAW. POLAND TRAVEL.
The first historical reference to Warsaw dates back to the year 1313, when initially Kraków served as the Polish capital city. Due to its central location between the Commonwealth's capitals of Kraków and Vilnius, Warsaw became the capital of the Commonwealth and the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland when King Sigismund III Vasa moved his court from Kraków to Warsaw in 1596.[10] After the Third Partition of Poland in 1795, Warsaw was incorporated into the Kingdom of Prussia. For this Warsaw gained the title of the "phoenix city" because it has survived so many wars, conflicts and invasions throughout its long history. Named for good sailing winds, Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina, and home to nearly a quarter of the country’s two million residents. Come for the stunning European architecture, and stay for delicious cuts of meat, the city’s zest for soccer, and, of course, the tango.
“The Paris of South America” boasts outstanding shopping and a friendly populace. A tour of Buenos Aires should cut through La Boca Harbor, where you’ll find numerous street vendors, restaurants, and street dancers willing to give you a spin. Wander down the streets to take in colorful artwork, and make a game out of asking the locals what neighborhood you should tour next. Here’s a hint: with so much to see, everyone will give you a different answer!
Some will tell you to visit San Telmo for souvenirs, patio shopping, and crumbling historical buildings. Others will suggest Puerto Madero, a refurbished shipping port that boasts a mixture of old-world glamour and modern buildings. What everyone will suggest, however, is a stop by Plaza de Mayo. There you can take in the rosy architecture of the Casa Rosada, which was made famous by Argentine First Lady Eva Peron and the musical about her life, “Evita.” Take a tour and learn about her life, from her humble beginnings to her rise to power.
Cap off your Buenos Aires sightseeing with an evening walk through Puerto Madero, where you can get a late dinner and dance until the next day arrives.

Travel video about destination Helsinki in Finland.
Helsinki, the Daughter of the Baltic, the Gibraltar of the North, a dividing line between east and west and a modern and liberal minded metropolis. Founded in 1550 by Swedish king Gustav I as a as a trading centre and in 1812, Csar Alexander I made it the capital of the Principality of Finland.
The Senaatintori is located in the centre of the city. The square is dominated by a monument and surrounded by a number of fine Neo-Classical buildings. Csar Alexander II included public, ecclesiastical and academic buildings in the square, including government offices, a cathedral and university.
Uspenski Cathedral is situated at the city's southern harbor and is the largest Russian Orthodox church in both western and northern Europe. Built in 1868 according to traditional Russian design its exterior is of red brick and it is crowned by 13 gilded domes.
The Finlandia Talo is Helsinki's concert and congress centre, a work of art that encapsulates the building and design philosophy of Alvar Aalto, one of Finland's most prominent architects of the 20th century. The white-colored opera house was completed in 1993. It was a daring project as the city's treasury was empty! But music reigned supreme and today the building is an important part of the city's cultural life.
Helsinki is a captivating city and has rightly been declared Europe's capital of culture.

Tradition is the enjoyment of timeless beauty.
"Sound of Vienna's" range of services is as wide-ranging and varied as the city whose name graces the name of our concert and artiste agency.
Founded in 1999 by Josip Susnjara as a concert and artiste agency, "Sound of Vienna" has taken on the task of carrying the fame of Viennese music out into the wide world. In addition to over 400 classical concerts in Vienna each year, countless tours of Europe, Asia and the USA emphasise the outstanding artistic quality of "Sound of Vienna".
"Sound of Vienna" -- the concert agency
The focal point of the work of "Sound of Vienna" is undoubtedly the Strauss & Mozart concerts by the Salonorchester Alt Wien, which take place daily in the Kursalon Wien. In this exquisite palace in Vienna's City Park, where the famous golden Strauss statue is also located, the Strauss brothers had their greatest successes. The regular concert evenings in the Kursalon Wien are a cultural must for all those who have lost their hearts to the music of Vienna, and more especially to the music of Johann Strauss and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. With over 400 events per year, "Sound of Vienna" has not only great experience in the provision of artistes, but in addition has excellent contacts with Viennese and Austrian artistes. "Sound of Vienna" is thus the best address for all who are seeking suitable acts for their own events. Beyond the boundaries of any one particular genre, we supply classical ensembles of all sizes, light music of every style, as well as the full diversity of variety acts such as magicians, clowns, fire-eaters, etc.
Johann Strauss - the Waltz King
Johann Strauss (Son) was born on 25 October 1825 in Vienna. With his compostions in light classical style, he put everything comparable in the shade. In the year 1844 he made his sensationally successful debut in Dommayers Casino in Hietzing with his own small orchestra. An unprecedented triumphal progress began that led him, together with his brothers Joseph and Eduard, to the Kursalon Wien, among other locations. Wide-ranging concert tours throughout Europe, and the 1872 American concert series, triggered off a real "Strauss hysteria". His popularity was unsurpassed.
Besides waltzes, Strauss also applied himself to the composition of other dance forms, such as polkas, galops, marches and csárdás. Through his contact with Jacques Offenbach he discovered operetta, which he himself called "comic opera". With works like "Die Fledermaus" and "The Gypsy Baron" he brought the golden era of Viennese operetta to its pinnacle. Johann Strauss Jnr died on 3 June 1899 in Vienna.
Viennese waltzes
The origins of the waltz reach back to the Middle Ages. Although initially considered coarse and too folksy, from the Congress of Vienna (1814/15) onwards it spread around the world and captivated all levels of society. From 1800, Vienna became the centre for the waltz. In the course of the 19th Century, the waltz developed into a concert form in its own right, fashioned by the Grand Masters of the waltz: Josef Lanner, Johann Strauss Senior and his sons Joseph and Eduard. But when one speaks of the "Viennese Waltz", then without a doubt the waltz compositions of Johann Strauss Jnr spring to mind, representing as they do a pinnacle in the development of the form. The classical concert waltz begins with an introduction, which is followed by a series usually of five waltz melodies, and ends with the coda, which brings a reprise of the preceding melodies. The ¾ time of the waltz gains its characteristic Viennese swing through the slight, intuitive anticipation of the second beat. Undoubtedly the most famous of the Viennese waltzes is Johann Strauss Jnr's "The Blue Danube", opus 314, which has practically become Austria's secret national anthem.
