To change between these two settings simply hold both the plus and minus buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds and you will see it change from Volts to Watts. Furthermore, to increase or decrease the voltage or watts desired, use the plus and minus buttons which will change voltage in .1 increments and wattage by .5 increments. Voltage output goes from 3 to 6 volts and wattage starts at 3 and goes all the way up to 15 watts. There is additional feature for advanced users, which allows you to change from a vrms power output setting and a average voltage power output setting. We recommend for beginners to use the Vrms or "NO2" setting instead of average voltage setting or "NO1". When in Vrms setting the unit will output power no more than what you have dialed in. In the average voltage setting the device could damage your heating element because it will sometimes produce more power than what you have dialed in to maintain an overall average what the device is set to output. To change between these two functions simply hold either the plus or minus button for about 15 seconds and you will see what setting you have changed it into.
