Courtney’s Art Direction: Think Conan, but switch the genders. And make the hero basically Farrah Fawcett. And make her leg clinger, I dunno, a Pak Protector maybe? No of course I don’t know anything about the plot.

Is Captain Beaky saying “You know, I can’t help thinking we might have misinterpreted the scale on the blueprints for this ship.”

Someone here is missing a limb. I think it’s the lady. Advice to illustrators: in order to avoid embarrassment, always count the limbs before handing in your work.

Is it just a trick of perspective, or are her radius and ulna being sucked in to the gravity well of yon planet off the starboard stern?
And where’s her left lower leg? I can somewhat follow her thigh across Talon Fighter’s leg, but after that everything disappears.

@Dead Stuff: I can only assume she’s resting her left foot on Captain Beaky’s nether regions. Which explains the look on his face.
Either that, or this is some kind of interstellar ventriloquism act.

When beaky there asked “Hey baby wanna come ride on my spaceship?” Farrah didn’t know he really meant ON the spaceship!

Rydra stepping on Brass’s goolies comes back to haunt us http://www.risingshadow.net/library?action=book&book_id=2751 (With so many bad covers given to Simak over the decades this is him getting off lightly).

You ever see some overgrown bozo with a beak with a platinum blonde on his shoulder and think, “Now why can’t a nice guy like me get a girl like that?”

This cover makes me hope none of the main characters is jewish.

Ah yes, the Logan’s Run pressing of Babel-17. I can’t remember if this is the one I own or not.
