Marcus’ Art Direction: Fredric Brown mostly wrote short stories with twist endings. So let’s have a twist ending to the cover! But, at the same time, semi-naked women sell books. So we should have one of them. Not too big, though, we want lots of nice black space around.

Easy to misread as FREDRIC BROWN SPACE ON MY HANDS.

Half woman, half hand – or half woman, half bunch of carrots?

I am more intrigued by the first depiction of a space hopper in its natural habitat.

…that’s her swollen ovipositor, isn’t it? And is that the way the book is folded and illuminated, or is she supposed to be hovering on some gent’s right eyelid?
It’s genuinely unsettling, but not in a socially acceptable way. You could have put the femme fatale in a frock and the cover would have been better.

O_o. Who thought this was a good idea?
She resembles some disturbing kind of space-louse.

I dunno, it’s kinda clever and sophisticated, for a sci-fi cover.

Luckily there isn’t an actual north pole. Otherwise she’d be slightly less comfortable. Or more… depending on your preference!

You should see the size of the nail file.

It’s too clever to be stupid, but it has some GSS logic to it.

You know I think it feels more like an album cover than a book cover. The way “Frederick Brown/Space On My Hands” is arranged at the top just makes me want to pull some vinyl out of the thing.

$10 says she has feet for hands.

Her giant hand seems to be holding a giant testicle.

“$10 says she has feet for hands.”
Pessimist. My vote is for recursive naked ladies for hands. You know …if you’re into that sort of thing……which I am definitely…errr….not.

Gives a whole new meaning to “My girlfriend is my right hand”…

FUCK, this cover traumatised me as a little kid. I don’t know where I saw it, but the woman with finger legs is as familiar as a bruise.
