CANADA Soviet Premier Aleksei Kosygin on trip to Ottawa, assaulted by a Hungarian national, with Canada's Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER PIERRE TRUDEAU Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau seen with group of people and photographers. Several quick clips of him in different political settings. Trudeau playing the flute amongst a crowd. Still of him in the water, shooting a gun, dancing, paddling in a canoe, eating. Stills of him on a motorcycle, surfing, playing a drum, jumping, and lots of other stuff. Hey, he's a wacky guy. Takes of garter belt of saloon-type lady. Several ladies give him kisses. Still of Maggie (soon to be wife). Stills of the happy couple. Maggie speaks about the flower children. Wedding photos. Pierre and Maggie Trudeau at gala dinner with visiting president Richard Nixon and Pat Nixon. Nixon meets with Trudeau. Nixon speaks before Canadian parliament. Still of Maggie Trudeau. Newspaper headline reads: Pierre, Margaret agree to separation. Still of Pierre, Maggie, and their kids on magazine cover. Maggie interviewed about being stressed out after campaign. Maggie says that she started seeing a psychiatrist. Maggie talks about being a flower child and being excited to not just be the Prime Minister's wife. Maggie talks about liking to go out dancing. Neon sign for nightclub El Mocambo Tavern. Maggie gets in car. Stills of Mick Jagger. Newspaper reads: Premier's wife in Stones scandal. Still of Jagger with Maggie. Newspaper reads: The first lady who got turned on by the Stones... Man interviewed about hiring Maggie as a photographer. Man looks at photographs. Woman lying on beach, film light in the foreground. Man walks over to the woman. Woman struggles with man and bites him (could read as attempted rape) She runs behind a tree, movie cameras. Film set. Maggie Trudeau is the woman in the film. Nice shots of behind the scenes movie making. Trudeau speaking in French. Book printing press (NICE), could pass for newspaper printing press. Factory where women are putting the jackets on the books; book jacket assembly line. Shots of Trudeau's books.

Pierre Trudeau speaking about his omnibus bill, famously saying "there's no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation".
Joseph Philippe Pierre Yves Elliott Trudeau, PC CH CC QC FSRC (/truːˈdoʊ/; French pronunciation: [tʁydo]; October 18, 1919 – September 28, 2000), usually known as Pierre Trudeau or Pierre Elliott Trudeau, was the 15th Prime Minister of Canada from April 20, 1968 to June 4, 1979, and again from March 3, 1980 to June 30, 1984.
Trudeau began his political career as a lawyer, intellectual, and activist in Quebec politics. In the 1960s, he entered federal politics by joining the Liberal Party of Canada. He was appointed as Lester Pearson's Parliamentary Secretary, and later became his Minister of Justice. From his base in Montreal, Trudeau took control of the Liberal Party and became a charismatic leader, inspiring "Trudeaumania". From the late 1960s until the mid-1980s, he dominated the Canadian political scene and aroused passionate reactions. "Reason before passion" was his personal motto.[1] He retired from politics in 1984, and John Turner succeeded him as Prime Minister.
Admirers praise the force of Trudeau's intellect[2] and salute his political acumen in preserving national unity against the Quebec sovereignty movement, suppressing a violent revolt, and establishing the Charter of Rights and Freedoms within Canada's constitution.[3] Critics accuse him of arrogance, economic mismanagement, and unduly favouring the federal government relative to the provinces, especially in trying to distribute the oil wealth of the Prairies.
