An international airport is an airport that offers customs and immigration facilities for passengers travelling between countries. International airports are typically larger than domestic airports and often feature longer runways and facilities to accommodate the heavier aircraft commonly used for international and intercontinental travel. International airports often also host domestic flights. Some, such as Frankfurt Airport in Germany are very large; others such as Fa'a'ā International Airport in Tahiti, are quite small.

The world`s most deadliest Airstrip landings (Airports)
Tenzing-Hillary Airport (IATA: LUA, ICAO: VNLK), also known as Lukla Airport, is a small airport in the town of Lukla, in Khumbu, Solukhumbu district, Sagarmatha zone, eastern Nepal. A program titled Most Extreme Airports, broadcast on The History Channel in 2010, rated the airport as the most dangerous airport in the world.
In January 2008 the airport was renamed in honor of Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, the first people to reach the summit of Mount Everest and also to mark their efforts in the construction of this airport.
The airport is popular because Lukla is the place where most people start the climb to Mount Everest Base Camp. There are daily flights between Lukla and Kathmandu during daylight hours in good weather. Although the flying distance is short, rain commonly occurs in Lukla while the sun is shining brightly in Kathmandu. High winds, cloud cover, and changing visibility often mean flights can be delayed or the airport closed. The airport is contained within a chain link fence and patrolled by the Nepali armed police or civil police around the clock.
The airport's paved asphalt runway is accessible only to helicopters and small, fixed-wing, short-takeoff-and-landing aircraft such as the De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, Dornier Do 228 and Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter. The runway is 460 by 20 m (1,509 by 66 ft) with a 12% gradient. The airport's elevation is 2,800 m (9,200 ft).
Aircraft can use runway 06 only for landings and runway 24 only for takeoffs. There is no prospect of a successful go-around on short final due to the terrain. There is high terrain immediately beyond the northern end of the runway and a steeply angled drop at the southern end of the runway into the valley below.
The apron has four stands and there is one helipad located 140 m (460 ft) from the control tower. No landing aids are available and the only air traffic service is an Aerodrome Flight Information Service.
Gibraltar International Airport or North Front Airport (IATA: GIB, ICAO: LXGB) is the civilian airport that serves the British overseas territory of Gibraltar. The runway is owned by the Ministry of Defence for use by the Royal Air Force as RAF Gibraltar. Civilian operators use the civilian-operated terminal. National Air Traffic Services hold the contract for provision of air navigation services at the airport.
In 2004 the airport handled 314,375 passengers and 380 tonnes of cargo. Winston Churchill Avenue (the main road heading towards the land border with Spain) intersects the airport runway, and consequently has to be closed every time a plane lands or departs. The History Channel programme Most Extreme Airports ranked the airport the fifth most extreme airport in the world.
Monarch is the largest operator at Gibraltar International, operating three weekly flights to London Luton, Manchester Airport and Birmingham. Both routes are operated by an Airbus A320-200. EasyJet operates seven weekly flights to London Gatwick operated by Airbus A320 family aircraft. British Airways also operates nine weekly flights to London Heathrow being operated by an Airbus A320-200.
Although located in Gibraltar, the airport is also used by people travelling to or from neighbouring parts of the southern Spain such as the Costa del Sol or the Campo de Gibraltar.
The airport was constructed during World War II upon the territory's race course (introduced by the Maltese), when Gibraltar was an important naval base for the British. Originally opened in 1939, it was only an emergency airfield for the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. However, the runway was later extended by reclaiming some land from the Bay of Gibraltar using rock blasted from the Rock of Gibraltar while carrying out works on military tunnels. This last major extension of the runway allowed larger aircraft to land at Gibraltar.
Spain's continuing sovereignty dispute with the United Kingdom over the territory where the airport stands (different from the generic one on Gibraltar itself) has seriously affected the airport's operations. On 2 December 1987, an agreement was signed between the governments of the United Kingdom and Spain to allow the joint civil use of the airport.[3] The agreement foresaw the building of a new terminal in the neighbouring Spanish municipality of La Línea de la Concepción adjacent to the northern side of the existing frontier. However, the agreement was blocked by the Government of Gibraltar, led from 1988 by Joe Bossano. As a result, the agreement was never implemented.
Since then, Spain successfully excluded Gibraltar from European wide de-regulation initiatives, preventing direct links from Gibraltar to the rest of the European Union (except the United Kingdom), on the grounds that no regulation that somehow recognises the sovereignty of the United Kingdom over the Gibraltar peninsula may be implemented without a previous agreement on the airport

Description:
Air travel is stressful at the best of times. Even before reaching the airport, you contend with concerns related to packing and transportation. Once you get there, you begin to work through a series of plodding lines for various security measures, complete with a nerve-wracking encounter with a no-nonsense customs official. Then comes the flight, itself, as you lock yourself in within a tin box and venture through a series of typical plane activity, such as bumpy turbulence and the occasional heart-stopping drop in altitude.
The process of air travel remains a remarkable and often over-looked innovation. Consider that for all of the gripes and complaints travellers have with the discomfort and inconvenience of planes, they are still vehicles that operate thousands of miles in the air and routinely carry passengers across the globe in a matter of hours. But on-going technological developments and advancements haven’t completely eliminated air safety concerns that are capable of emerging from factors like poor visibility and slippery weather conditions. In 2014, tragic flight disasters involving two Malaysian Airlines flights and an AirAsia commercial jet contributed to 990 air travel fatalities among 21 crashes on the year.
Of course, lest we spook you and fuel an aversion to flying, air travel remains a very safe means of transportation statistically. In spite of the high number of fatalities, the 21 fatal crashes in 2014 represented an all-time low, coming on approximately 30 million commercial flights. To put that in perspective, those numbers leave you with a 0.000007% chance of being onboard one of those flights, or one in 1.43 million. Statistically speaking, you have a better chance at being killed by lightning or a fatal dog attack than via plane travel.
Plane safety regulations help diminish the risk involved in air travel, but so do the personnel involved. Highly trained pilots skillfully navigate their way through challenging takeoffs and tricky landings, consistently engineering smooth, pleasant travel experiences for passengers despite the high degree of difficulty involved. This can be particularly true in more remote flight destinations, where natural landscapes can offer striking beauty, but also treacherous and complicated terrains. Sometimes, pilots are forced to contend with these terrains of less-than-ideally located landing strips.
This list tackles some of the world’s most dangerous airports, those which put pilots to the test. These airports challenge air aces with high elevation, short runways, difficult natural conditions and precariously-situated landing strips. They may well offer some truly stunning scenery as you begin your descent, but they are also capable of offering a white-knuckled, nail-biting experience for passengers as they approach their gate. The troublesome landscapes represented here, including those with weather issues, perilously narrow landing strips and poorly thought out landing sites, make for a set of airports that had a whole new challenging dimension to air travel for those who man the cockpit. One airport on this list, meanwhile, earned its place for mythical and strangely conspiratorial reasons more so than any legitimate runway-related safety concerns.

DALLAS AIRPORT FIGHT CAUGHT ON VIDEO - 10/23/2014
To use this video in broadcast or in a commercial player please contact licensing@storyful.com
Summary: An extremely troubled unnamed man gets upset, starts a fight and then gets taken down hard by host of good samaritans at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Afterwards, I interview my brother Neal and he provides his thoughts on what we all just witnessed.
What: An altercation
Where: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport / Gate: C 30
When: Approximately 6:45 P.M. Central Standard Time / Thursday, October 23, 2014
Why: God only knows
*Other: Many have asked me for more context to the video. Basically, I was waiting for my next flight at gate C 30 with my family, heard a loud and seemingly escalating commotion, then walked over and pressed record on my phone. That is it. The rest is you seeing and hearing what I did so I really have no other information on what started it or what it was about other than what is in the video. An airport spokesperson can probably elaborate further on what happened.

Hong Kong International Airport is one of the world's busiest passenger and cargo airports. It supports the growth of many industries in Hong Kong. At present, the airport has already reached over 90% of its runway capacity, which is expected to become saturated by 2016 to 2017. To drive the city’s development forward, we need to maintain our competitiveness. There is a pressing need to develop the airport into the three-runway system.

*Watch in 1080p!*
Today's video is a compilation of footage filmed on a very busy summer's day at Cardiff Airport. Date Filmed: 25th June 2015.
In June 2015, I headed down to one of my local airports for a few hours of spotting in the sunshine. The visit got better as the day went on, firstly an RAF Hawk emergency landing, then a BinAir Metroliner and then to top it all off, a BA 747-400 from London Heathrow for maintenance!
Included in this video is a wide range of aircraft such as a Ryanair & Thomson 737-800, Smartlynx A320, Tyrol Air Ambulance Cessna 550 & much more! It was my first catch of a Ryanair aircraft at Cardiff after they re-s

Top Ten airports in the world make it a lot easier to enjoy the journey
Airports can seem like just a means to an end — places you have to go to get where you're going. But some are better than others, and some are positively great.
Each year, the Guide to Sleeping in Airports goes through thousands of submissions and ratings to determine the best airports in the world (as well as the worst).
To make it to the top 10, airports must "go above and beyond when it comes to providing a clean and comfortable travel experience, complete with services and facilities you might not even imagine," according to the website. Time spent at them should be "an experience in and of itself."

Navi Mumbai International Airport
Navi Mumbai International Airport is a proposed greenfield international airport, to be built in the Kopar-Panvel area of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in India. City and Industrial Development Corporation is the nodal agency for the project which will be built through public–private partnership on a 'design, build, finance, operate and transfer' basis.
The airport project, aimed at easing air traffic congestion at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, has been delayed due to property disputes. The airport covers an area of 2,320 hectares negotiated between the government and the project affected people from five villages. They are yet to accept the government's compensation. CIDCO, however, floated a global request for qualification for the project on 5 February 2014. The private sector partner will hold 74% equity in the airport with the Airports Authority of India and CIDCO each holding 13%.

Planes at Cardiff Airport - 25th June 2015. A very busy Thursday including BA 747 & much more!
It was my first catch of a Ryanair aircraft at Cardiff after they re-started services last year to Tenerife South.
Cardiff Airport, situated in the Vale of Glamorgan, is the biggest airport in Wales and last year had just over 1 million passengers. This year is expected to be higher, mainly because of Flybe introducing new routes earlier this year with 2 based Embraer E190 aircraft, as seen in the video. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching! Please like, comment and subscribe for weekly Full HD videos.

Airports (Part 1)
