Baptism (from the Greek noun Βάπτισμα baptisma; itself derived from baptismos, washing) is a Christian rite of admission (or adoption), almost invariably with the use of water, into the Christian Church generally and also a particular church tradition. Baptism has been called a sacrament and an ordinance of Jesus Christ.
In some traditions, baptism is also called christening, but for others the word "christening" is reserved for the baptism of infants.
The New Testament reports that Jesus was baptized. The usual form of baptism among the earliest Christians was for the naked candidate to be immersed totally (submersion) or partially (standing or kneeling in water while water was poured on him or her). While John the Baptist's use of a deep river for his baptism suggests immersion, pictorial and archaeological evidence of Christian baptism from the 3rd century onward indicates that a normal form was to have the candidate stand in water while water was poured over the upper body. Other common forms of baptism now in use include pouring water three times on the forehead.
I don't want to look around
And be turned to stone
All my darkest days awoken
I'm looking for a new way
Can't make it on my own
Lead me to a place wide open
I need a love that takes me higher
So high I'm never coming down
I don't want to know emptiness
Take me down to the water
Wanna be baptized in your love
Far away from the loneliness
Take my heart and wash away the fear
Let me be baptized in your love
Everybody's going down
They end up all alone
Far too many words unspoken
I know I gotta be there
I'm ready to be shown
The path of righteousness unbroken
I need a love that takes me higher
So high I'm never coming down
I don't want to know emptiness
Take me down to the water
Wanna be baptized in your love
Far away from the loneliness
Take my heart and wash away the fear
Let me be baptized in your love
I would be a fool to let you go
With you I'm reborn
I'm no longer torn
Yeah
I refuse to lose my heart and soul
I have to be strong
I don't want to know emptiness
Take me down to the water
Wanna be baptized in your love
Far away from the loneliness
Take my heart and wash away the fear
Let me be baptized in your love
Baptized, baptized
Wanna be baptized in your love
I don't want to know emptiness
Take me down to the water
Wanna be baptized in your love (wanna be...)
Far away from the loneliness
Take my heart and wash away the fear
Wanna be baptized in your love
I don't want to know emptiness
Take me down to the water
Wanna be baptized in your love
Far away from the loneliness
Take my heart and wash away the fear

(Verse)
You and I both, we come from different worlds
I’m a small town kid and you’re an uptown girl
We’ve both been hurt, we got a few scars
But it don’t matter now, we’re staring at the stars
(Verse)
When it comes to my heart you gotta catch and fall
Deep down in my soul I know that I would die
If I didn’t have you how could I ever fly?
100 miles beyond the sky
(Chorus x2)
It’s feeling like we’re high above the ground
It’s feeling like we’re never coming down
Til we want to
But why would we want to (now)?
(Verse)
Remember that day, we knew it from the start
We’ve come a long way and we’re gonna go far
I see the future in your eyes
Forever and always, you and I
(Chorus x2)
It’s feeling like we’re high above the ground
It’s feeling like we’re never coming down
Til we want to
But why would we want to (now)?
(Bridge)
When we’re so close to heaven
I’m gonna like this paradise
It’s gonna be too hard to say
Goodnight yea
(Chorus x4)
It’s feeling like we’re high above the ground
It’s feeling like we’re never coming down
Til we want to
But why would we want to (now)?
Yeah!
Misled again we take up guns and blow it all away
Brothers lost to who we are in terror we exchange
Sleep walking into mass graves
Bought and sold like slaves
It's the end of the old
A new era unfolds
Like a thief in the night taking everything
We won't hear you
We won't hear you
Yeah
Burned again we stand and fight into the longest night
Facing death we know there's more inside we see a light
Time has come to all rise up cannot be denied
It's the end of the old
A new era unfolds
Like a thief in the night taking everything
We won't hear you
We won't hear you
We won't hear you... baptized!
We won't hear you... in fire!
We won't hear you... baptized!
We won't hear you... in fire!
Fires raging in black days casting a new light
No more objects in our way the path comes into sight
Kings and thieves all haunted men running in the night
It's the end of the old
A new era unfolds
Like a thief in the night taking everything
We won't hear you
We won't hear you
We won't hear you... baptized!
We won't hear you... in fire!
We won't hear you... baptized!
