In this video I discuss and show the differences between Jet-A, Diesel, Heating Oil, Kerosine, Avgas (100LL), and Gasoline. I made this video because many people think Jet fuel is super dangerous when infact regular Gasoline burns easier.
Modern diesel engines are complex, sophisticated machines that need higher quality fuels to keep them running their best. Injector deposits, fuel pump wear, corrosion, poor performance in cold weather -- these are just some of the concerns of modern diesel engines. Without a high quality diesel fuel, engines are at risk, which may lead to higher emissions, reduced fuel economy, loss of power, poor vehicle response, and equipment downtime and/or repair.
Diesel additives allow fuel marketers to offer higher quality, differentiated diesel fuel to end users. Tested and proven deposit control additives increase the ability of a diesel fuel to clean injectors and keep them running like new. Additives also help improve cetane properties to deliver better cold starts and quieter operation. Lubricity additives provide wear protection reduced in the production of ultra-low sulfur diesel. Cold flow additives lower the temperature at which diesel gels and becomes problematic.

Diesel fuel (
/ˈdiːzəl/) in general is any liquid fuel used in diesel engines. The most common is a specific fractional distillate of petroleum fuel oil, but alternatives that are not derived from petroleum, such as biodiesel, biomass to liquid (BTL) or gas to liquid (GTL) diesel, are increasingly being developed and adopted. To distinguish these types, petroleum-derived diesel is increasingly called petrodiesel.Ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) is a standard for defining diesel fuel with substantially lowered sulfur contents. As of 2007, almost all diesel fuel available in the United States of America, Canada and Europe is the ULSD type.
In the UK, diesel fuel for on-road use is commonly abbreviated DERV, standing for Diesel Engined Road Vehicle, which carries a tax premium over equivalent fuel for non-road use (see Taxation).
The word "diesel" is derived from the family name of German inventor Rudolf Diesel who in 1892 invented the diesel engine.
Diesel engines are a type of internal combustion engine. Rudolf Diesel originally designed the diesel engine to use coal dust as a fuel. He also experimented with various oils, including some vegetable oils, such as peanut oil, which was used to power the engines which he exhibited at the 1900 Paris Exposition and the 1911 World's Fair in Paris.

Typically, diesel fuel is made from crude oil, but scientists can make high-grade diesel from coal, natural gas, plants or even agricultural waste, using a process called Fischer-Tropsch, or "FT." Just about any carbon source is an option. FT Diesel is the ideal liquid transportation fuel for automobiles, trucks and jets. It's much cleaner burning than conventional diesel, and much more energy efficient than gasoline. But, FT Diesel is expensive to make and generates lots of waste.
With support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and its Center for Enabling New Technologies Through Catalysis (CENTC), chemists around the United States are working together to improve the cost and energy efficiency of alternative fuels. CENTC scientists have invented and patented, and are bringing toward commercialization, catalysts that will convert light hydrocarbons into FT Diesel, improving the process, whether it's diesel made from traditional sources, such as oil, or alternative sources, such as biomass.

Ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) can be used in a kerosene heater if you use certain additives. One additive is injector cleaner and another one is isopropal alcohol. I'm using both. Today's Ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) does burn clean but you need to use additives in the diesel, so the wick in the kerosene heater does not clog. This is handy tip because diesel is a lot easier to find, cheaper and will last longer in a kerosene heater.

The number of people reporting being raped by someone they met on a dating app or website has risen six-fold in five years, official figures show.
