TAEKWON-DO - In Korean, tae (태) means "foot"; kwon (권) means "fist"; and do (도) means "way" or "method". Therefore, taekwondo can be translated as "the way or method of destroying with the hands and feet. The name taekwondo is also written as taekwon-do, tae kwon-do, or tae kwon do by various organizations.
BELT - In most Okinawan, Japanese, and Korean martial arts practitioners wear a long colored cloth belt around their waist. They are generally long enough to be wrapped twice around the wearer's waist and then tied in a square knot, with 10 to 15 inches hanging from either side of the knot. Before the 20th century most belts were colorless, but since students were prohibited from washing their belts, belts grew steadily darker through the years of accumulated sweat and soil. When the color belt system of rank was incorporated, it was arranged so that the belt color became darker as the student advanced in rank, ending with the black belt, the highest level of proficiency. Belts vary according to style and type of martial art; in some schools there is only a small color tip on the end of the bet to show rank. The most common colors used in martial arts are white, yellow, orange, blue, green, purple, brown, red, and black.
BLACK BELT - Color of belt worn in Japanese, Okinawan, and Korean martial arts. Its wearer is generally recognized as an expert. In most styles there are 10 degrees of black belt, called Dan (rank; degree), in which the latter five are honorary. In some styles, the recognized master, a 10th degree black belt, will at his option wear a red belt.
DAN - Category of rank in the Japanese, Okinawan, and Korean martial arts that classifies students, instructors, and masters who wear the black belt.
DEGREE - Black belt rank given in a martial art to one who has completed a prescribed course of study. Though no such ranks were issued originally in the Chinese styles, other than master and student, many American kung-fu instructors have adopted a system similar to that used in karate and other arts.
KATA COMPETITION -- Multi-divisional martial arts competition; participants perform individual chosen kata, which are judged usually by five officials under a point system. Judging of kata is generally based on poise, balance, stance, and precise control of movement. Eye movement must parallel body moves, attention must not stray, and power is a prerequisite. Judges deduct points for faults, awarding marks between one and ten.
THE concept for martial ballet forms was first derived in the mid to late seventies. Tournament forms competition was in an embryonic stage, and most tournament competitors performed the patterns that were associated with their rank. Though these "rank forms" displayed true aesthetic essence, (when performed properly), they lacked the flash and dramatics that had been displayed via television and movie media.
IT was soon realized that there was a need for patterns that would give tournament competitors a greater challenge, and lend color and excitement to their performance. To accommodate this need, Grandmaster Jhoon Rhee along with a variety of masters and instructors developed the martial ballet patterns.
ORIGINALLY set to music, these forms enhanced and embellished contemporary movements and technique.

Travel video about nature park Mississippi Swamps in the USA.
New Orleans is synonymous with good food, jazz and Mardi Gras and it was here that history was created: founded by France, conquered by Spain, bought by President Jefferson and occupied by theYankees! New Orleans also possesses the second largest harbour in the USA and even today they shout, „Full speed ahead!“ as paddle steamers negotiate ‘Ol Man River’, the grand waters of the Mississippi that flow to the Mississippi Swamps. The Swamps are extensive and only experienced boatmen can find their way around the mass of main and side tributaries as it’s easy to become disorientated, sight of the sky often being lost due to the density of the trees. In the past 5,000 years the Mississippi had seven different deltas prior to it being reinforced by embankments. When dykes strengthened the river, some side channels remained and these are the famous small rivers known as the Bayous, a labyrinth of small tributaries and waterways ‚Cowens’ is the name of the oldest life form in the swamp, a turtle that grows to about 10 to 25 centimetres long and feeds mainly on small fish and aquatic animals. Almost 30,000 hectares of swampland have been declared a nature reserve in which the complex balance between salt and freshwater reigns supreme and, when viewed from above, has the appearance of a strange network of city streets. The Delta area provides ideal conditions for many feathered species, including around four million ducks and also the national symbol of the USA, the white-headed sea eagle and the variety of animals living in this region, most notably the alligator, is also vast and includes beaver and racoon. The wonderful world of the Swamps with their legends and myths draw the traveller under their spell, a bewitching labyrinth of infinite waterways each one holding a special fascination. The allure of Nature is surely as puzzling as the innermost secrets of the Mississippi Swamps!

Come on down to New Orleans, better known as The Big Easy.
Dive headfirst into a melting pot of French, African, and Brazilian culture meshed with many different religions, foods, and of course jazz. Let the good times roll in the French Quarter, the birthplace of jazz, when you visit its numerous bars, clubs, and restaurants. To really kick up your partying skills a notch, head to Bourbon Street, where festivals and late nights are a way of life.
For a slightly more sedate New Orleans sightseeing trip, visit Jackson Square, where you can tour historic buildings like the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral. Plan a trip to Memorial Hall and learn about the Civil War, or walk through Lafayette Cemetery to see one of the country’s most haunted graveyards. If you’d rather avoid a run-in with a ghost, you’ll find an assortment of galleries and boutiques throughout the city, so you can satisfy your desire for art and shopping.

Travel video about destination New Orleans in the United States of America.
A fun-filled metropolis at the mouth of the Mississippi, New Orleans is a cultural melting pot and the birth place of jazz. In 1682, the Frenchman Robert Cavalier, declared this Mississippi region to be French territory and named it ‘La Louisiana’. However, Napoleon later accepted $15 million from President Jefferson and in 1840, it was the fourth largest city in the U.S.A. The Garden District is a sought-after residential area in which there is an abundance of magnolia trees, palms, shrubs and flowers. The city’s largest graveyard, the Metairie Cemetery, has over 7,000 graves and an array of spectacular mausoleums which astound the eye.Gumbo Soup, Jambalaya, Hurricane Cocktails and Dixie Beer are just a few of the traditional refreshments on offer in this carefree, non-stop city. Just outside the city, there are the swampy bayous alive with many exotic species. The Oak Valley Plantations, whose great wealth derived from the sugar cane industry prior to the American Civil War, part of which is reminiscent of some of the scenery from Hollywood’sGone With The Wind.In the 19th Century, New Orleans was North American capital of the Voodoo cult and today, it is a city of unique atmospheres, flavors, contrasts and Mardi Gras, an extraordinary city!

Travel video about destination Nevada.
Nevada is the heart of America’s west, gateway to a wild and spacious wonderland that is full of amazing surprises and outrageous contradictions.Las Vegas appears like a mirage in the desert, awake night and day, THE entertainment capital of the world! Guarded by a sphinx that stretches its paws out toward the Strip, a pyramid looms above the desert paradise, The Luxor Hotel, one of many theme hotels in this incredible city. The MGM lion guards one of the largest hotels in the world with over five thousand rooms, whereas the Bellagio is a return to the exclusive nature of the casino hotels of the past: here, luxury is at its zenith - an investment of 1,8 billion dollars speaks for itself! The Valley Of Fire is located about 90 km. north east of Las Vegas and derived its name from bizarre, dark red sandstone rocks formed from both wind and rain. Good footpaths lead through the numerous canyons of the 150 million year old rock formations and while climbing over the huge plateaus images come to mind of the Anasazi Indians who once lived here 800 years ago. The fascinating scenery of Red Rock Canyon is easily reached from Las Vegas, a perfect scene of the old Wild West in stark contrast to the glittering world of the nearby city of gambling. A panoramic 20-kilometre roadway leads to the best observation points of this 330 km² nature reserve in the Mojave Desert. Lake Mead is a huge artificial lake amidst breathtaking Nature. The land that encircles it has been declared a National Recreation Area and it’s home to a variety of unique plants as well as numerous animals. The authentic, three-deck Mississippi-style paddle steamer, the Desert Princess, is the ideal way to travel the lake in style to the legendary Hoover Dam. Only two and a half hours by car to the west of Las Vegas is the USA’s most recent national park that extends to the opposite side of California’s border, Death Valley! It was through here that thousands of pioneers took a short cut while journeying west, many of them perishing in the attempt. However, this region is most certainly the heart of the west - the wild wild west of Nevada!

What to Do If You Have Been Injured in an Accident in Greenwood Mississippi Richard Schwartz
http://1call.ms/
Nobody expects to be in a car accident, but in a matter of seconds, a collision can cause serious property damage and traumatic injuries. Crashes are almost always unexpected, so it is important that you are prepared for the worst.
If you have been in an accident with a negligent driver in Mississippi, then a Greenwood personal-injury attorney from Richard Schwartz & Associates, P.A. may be able to help. We can gather evidence, talk with witnesses and quantify the damages so you pursue the amount of compensation that you deserve. Call us today at 1-888-366-2401 to schedule a consultation.
After an accident, you should not move the vehicles unless it is necessary to prevent harm to yourself or to others. You should always call law enforcement so the police can write an official accident report.
Although you should wait for police to arrive before moving the vehicles, you can talk with witnesses while police are en route. Try to exchange contact information including names, phone numbers and email addresses.
These steps may help you prove that another driver was responsible for the accident. If you file a successful lawsuit, then you may be able to recover compensation to pay for health-care bills, lost wages and other damages.
A Greenwood personal-injury lawyer from Richard Schwartz & Associates, P.A. can review your case and identify if you may have valid grounds for a lawsuit. Call us today at 1-888-366-2401 to schedule a consultation.

DAN - Category of rank in the Japanese, Okinawan, and Korean martial arts that classifies students, instructors, and masters who wear the black belt.
DEGREE - Black belt rank given in a martial art to one who has completed a prescribed course of study. Though no such ranks were issued originally in the Chinese styles, other than master and student, many American kung-fu instructors have adopted a system similar to that used in karate and other arts..

Road Movies by John Doe

9/24/14: Forum held at La Peña Cultural Center and sponsored by Advance the Struggle (advancethestruggle.wordpress.com).
The 50th anniversary of the Freedom Summer is an opportunity for us to reflect on the historic struggle against racism, and learn from the achievements of a previous generation of organizers.
This event sought to bring the lessons and experiences of first hand participants in the Freedom Summer into dialogue with struggles unfolding today. From Ferguson to Oakland, the wisdom
generated from past struggles is central to understanding our contemporary struggle for liberation.
SPEAKERS
Phil Hutchings – Phil Hutchings is a veteran of the Southern Freedom Movement of the 1960′s with the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee. He is the former Senior Organizer with the Black Alliance for Just Immigration based in Oakland, California.
Linda Wetmore Halpern – Linda Wetmore Halpern was a SNCC Volunteer in Greenwood, Mississippi. She continued work with SNCC, organizing to desegregate schools and against the war. She taught at Castlemont High School in Oakland for 38 years and now mentors teachers entering Oakland Unified School District.
James P. Garrett – James P. Garret was a SNCC Staff member from 1964-66, member of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), and Co-Founder, Black Students Union and Black Studies at San Francisco State from 1966-68. He has continued to stay active in numerous political issues over the years.
